Week 3 is in the books!  Another combo Flag Football/Softball night that saw many of the top Teams continue their dominance.. More on that in just a bit! Quick scheduling note — Week 4 Flag Football (Wed. Oct. 14) will be played at Twin Lakes Sports Park (next to the Basketball Gym) and NOT at Winslow Park.  Here’s a Link to the Weekly Highlight Video!  Another quick reminder as deadlines are fast approaching — for Spring Break Trips — Student City — and for Study Abroad — cea Study Abroad.  OK let’s Rank ‘Em!

Power Rankings

1. Team ATO JR (Classic Lanes Red) – Currently tied for 1st with 60 points.

2. Team ATO SO (Student City Blue) – Currently tied for 1st with 60 points.

Taking the Top 2 Teams together this week.. Both came into Week 3 as the Ranked in the Top 3 and were 2 of the final 3 Undefeateds in the Bloomington League.. When the dust settled from another set of flag football/softball there were just 2 Teams left with Zeros in the Loss Column and both come from the ATO house.  The JRs did enough this past week to actually leapfrog their SOs and go from #3 to #1, while the SOs will stay at #2 for another week.  All in all this is a tremendous feat, considering there are 12 Teams involved and for both of these crews to start 3-0 is just stunning.  Both Teams have a lot of work left to do before the Playoffs but it’s safe to say they have been the most impressive house to start the League.

3. ZBT 1 (Biaggi’s Silver) – Currently tied for 3rd with 45 points.

After taking a tough Week 1 L, to the Undefeated and current #1 Team ATO JR, these guys have rebounded in a big way.. They’ve won two in a row and it’s enough to climb into a tie for 3rd in the Standings along with claiming the #3 spot in the Power Rankings.  On Wednesday Night they won an absolute thriller that went down to the wire with Team Sammy 3 on the gridiron.  QB Jeff Visoky was great on the night and if they can replicate this in Week 4 they may leap even higher in the Rankings.

4. Team Sammy 2 (Student City Red) – Currently tied for 3rd with 45 points.

Following a similar path as Team ZBT 1, they left Week 1 after a tough Hoops L, but haven’t let that affect their play in Weeks 2 and 3.. They’ve strung a couple Ws together, which as everyone can now attest to, is tough in this League! Not only did they win on Wednesday Night, they knocked off former #1 and previously unbeaten Team Delts 9-8 in softball! This is the highest they’ve been Ranked all year and they’ll look to climb even higher and shock the world when they take on Undefeated #2 Team ATO SO on Wednesday Night in Flag Football!

5. Team Delts (Classic Lanes Black) – Currently in 5th with 35 points.

All great things eventually come to an end.. Team Delts spent some time at #1 to start the season but on Wednesday Night they took their first L at the hands of Sammy 2 in a softball Game that could have gone to either squad.. With the top being as tight as it is in both the Standings and Power Rankings, they Loss sends them out of the top few spots, but still lands them easily in the Top 5.  One week doesn’t change a thing about them.. They are still among the favorites to wear the Crown in November.. Great Teams bounce back quickly, so let’s see if they can shake it off in Week 4 against the new #1 Team ATO JR!

6. Team AEPi SO (cea Study Abroad Orange) – Currently tied for 6th with 25 points.

First Ws of the Season are always the hardest to come by.. They’ve played hard in the opening weeks of the season and finally broke on through this past Wednesday Night.. They’ve bolstered the squad a bit with some of their Freshman, and while they are just Freshman, they come with some very valuable All Sports Series experience.. This is a Team whose stock is on the rise!  Buy now!

7. Team Sammy 3 (Biaggi’s Gold) – Currently tied for 6th with 25 points.

Lost a heartbreaker with Team ZBT 1 on Wednesday and with it a chance to take a Top 3 spot. Here’s the thing though.. 1 or 2 plays were the difference.. They are right there and they are hanging with the best the League has to offer.. This is a group that can really go on a run later in the Season. They’ve shown through 3 weeks they are capable of playing every sport.. The top Teams need to be careful of them…

8. Team Phi Psi (cea Study Abroad Navy) – Currently tied for 8th with 15 points.

They took part in an absolute slugfest with Team AEPi SO on the softball diamond on and just couldn’t match run for run.. They Lost 20-12 in the highest scoring Softball game of the season. That being said, they showed a lot of potential out there and they’ve already shown what they can do in Hoops. This is a Team that may not end the season with a top 2 or 3 seed in the Playoffs but they are more than capable of making a run and knocking off the top squads.. They’ll take on Sammy 1 on Wednesday Night in Flag Football.

Rest of the Pack (Alphabetical Order)

Team AEPi SR (SLA Insurance Blue) – Currently tied for 11th with 0 points.

Team Sammy 1 (Dr. Jacob D.D.S.) – Currently tied for 8th with 15 points.

Had the unenviable task of playing the #1 Team in Softball this past Wednesday Night. They hung with them for a while but just couldn’t come out on top.. This is a group that looked so comfortable on the Hoops court just a couple weeks back.. That same Team is still here and they will get more Ws before you know it. Look for them to hop back into the Rankings shortly!

Team Sigma Pi (SLA Insurance Green) – Currently tied for 11th with 0 points.

Team ZBT 2 (Spikeball) – Currently tied for 8th with 15 points.

That’s it for this week. Remember, Flag Football is at Twin Lakes Sports Park on Wednesday!
