2015 Madison – Week 2 (Sept. 22)

By
Updated: September 28, 2015

Two weeks down and just a few Teams are left Undefeated. More on that in just a bit..  Next week, we move back outdoors for Men’s 16″ Softball and Co-Ed Kickball. Always a fun night.  Here’s a Link to the Weekly Highlight Video (that is solely for the Madison League! Enjoy!).  Another quick reminder as deadlines are fast approaching — for Spring Break Trips — Student City — and for Study Abroad — cea Study Abroad.  OK to the Rankings.. Men’s went first last week, so let’s flip the script.. Co-Ed League is up first! Let’s Rank ’em!

Co-Ed Power Rankings

1. Team AXO & Co. (Badger Bowl Silver) – Currently in 1st with 35 points.

Sitting alone atop the Standings and Power Rankings through two weeks is exactly where everyone wants to be.. For Team AXO & Co. that is the reality of the situation.. There’s obviously a ton of Games left this Season but they have certainly established themselves as early front-runners.  Let’s see how they can navigate through the upcoming weeks with the added pressure of being the #1 Team in the Co-Ed League.

2. Team Castriano (Club Tavern Red) – Currently in 2nd with 15 points.

Faced the familiar foes of Team AXO & Co. once again this week and starting next week they’ll be moving on to new competition.  One thing they certainly will have on the other Teams in their League is the experience in playing Team AXO & Co. already in multiple sports.. Both Weeks the Games were as close as can be.. They know they can beat the #1 Team and later in the year they will have that chance!

Rest of the Pack (Alphabetical Order) – Currently tied for 3rd with 0 points.

Team Chi O & Co. (Club Tavern Orange)

Team (Club Tavern Navy)

Off for the holiday and we’ll get more on them next week!

Men’s Power Rankings

1. Team AEPi SR (Club Tavern Gold) – Currently tied for 1st with 35 points.

One of two Undefeated Teams remaining in the Men’s League are the vets known as Team AEPi SR.  They grabbed another dub on Tuesday Night against a tough Team SigEp squad. As we glance ahead at the Schedule just a bit, these guys are going to be put to their biggest test, and soon..  In fact, this Tuesday Night they will go toe to toe in 16″ Softball with the only other Undefeated Team in the Men’s League.. Of course that is against #2…

2. Team Sammy (Ian’s Pizza) – Currently tied for 1st with 35 points.

That’s right folks. In Week 3, we’ll have an early clash of the titans in Student City Game of the Week, when the only two Undefeated squads remaining battle it out for the #1 spot in the Power Rankings and Standings.  Both Team Sammy and Team AEPi SR have looked great in their first two outings and their contest on Tuesday Night will certainly hold weight come Playoff-seeding time.. Back to last week for a moment, Team Sammy knocked off Team Fiji 63-53.. The same Team Fiji squad who won in Week 1.. Team Sammy has had a rough schedule to start but you’d never know it based on their record. Well done guys!

3. Team KSig (Badger Bowl Green) – Currently tied for 4th with 15 points.

Picking up their first W of the season on Tuesday Night was Team KSig.  They took down Team AEPi SO on the Hoops Court..  This group is really gelling as a unit in their first few weeks in All Sports Series. It’s extremely promising for what can come of their Season come November.. They are only going to get better with time.  It seems a new guy is ready to step-up whenever the opportunity is given and that is a trait shared among Championship contenders. Congrats on the first Win!

4. Team AEPi JR (Biaggi’s) – Currently tied for 4th with 15 points.

Also securing their first points of the young season was the AEPi JR squad.  A year ago they were the youngsters who were just trying to scrap and claw.. This year, they have a new sense of confidence and intend on keeping pace with the top squads.  This is a sleeper Team that many may not be focusing on just yet.. You better start.

5. Team Fiji (Badger Bowl Purple) – Currently in 3rd with 20 points.

Small step back in Week 2 for the Fiji crew.  They went head to head with Team Sammy in Hoops and came out with the short end of the stick.  This has a potential Playoff Match-up written all over it. Both Teams love to compete and we can only hope their paths will cross again later in the Fall.  This is a group that will rebound quickly.. Expect them to get back on the right track and fast.. Next week, they have Team SigEp on the Softball diamond.

Rest of Pack (Alphabetical Order) – Currently tied for 6th with 0 points.

Team AEPi SO (Badger Bowl Black)

They entered their first All Sports Series Game in Franchise history on Tuesday Night and while they left without a much sought after W, they certainly showed a lot of talent and fight in their debut.  A champion is not made in one week and certainly not in their first ever Game.. They have tons of time to get acquainted and will look to pick up their first W in Softball when they play a very familiar foe.. The AEPi JRs!

Team Kepchar (Badger Bowl Red)

Team SigEp (Badger Bowl Blue)

They are knocking on the door of their first All Sports Series W.  They’ve had a tough start to the schedule, as their first two weeks have been against the Teams who now rank #1 and #2 in the Power Rankings and the Standings. The first one is always the hardest to come by and they will get another crack at it with 16″ Softball this coming Tuesday Night when they take on Team Fiji!

That’s it for this week! Good Luck on Tuesday Night!
