Week 4 in Ann Arbor brought us back to the Hoops court.. Only this time we had a much more spacious arena.. We are hitting the half way point of the Regular Season and #1 Team ZBT seems to be only getting stronger and stronger. They have certainly established themselves as the favorite as we move to the end of February.  Want to make sure everyone has seen the revised  ScheduleNext Week is the final week before Spring Break (we are off Wednesday March 2).. Power Rankings

1. Team ZBT (Schweitzer Title Gray) – Currently in 1st with 60 points

Team ZBT got what was easily the biggest Regular Season W of any Team so far in Ann Arbor.. They came in to Week 3 as the #1 Team and went toe to toe with former #2 Team Sammy.. Both Teams entered tied for 1st in the Standings as well.. Team ZBT looked at this as an opportunity to not only seize control of first place in the Standings but to put the entire League on notice that they are here to win Championships.  They basically doubled up Team Sammy on Wednesday Night.. Ryan Luck went for 30 on the night. They will take on DKE SO2 in Week 5 Hoops.

2. Team Theta Chi SR (Schweitzer Title White) – Currently in 3rd with 51 points

In what was the Game of the Night, Team Theta Chi SR got a thrilling W over Team DKE SO2..  Zach Zent had 17 and Captain Kane had 14.. Their club needed each and every one of those points to earn a big victory.. The Win moves them up to the 3rd in the Standings and all the way to #2 in the Power Rankings. These guys continue to improve each Week and they seem to have a sense of urgency that many Teams may not have just yet.. As Seniors, they know they only get one shot at this thing together.. They will take part in the StudentCity Game of the Week next Wednesday Night when they face #3…

3. Team DKE SO1 (Ella Designs Jewelry Navy) – Currently in 2nd with 54 points

Grabbing their second Hoops W of the season on Wednesday Night was #3 Team DKE SO1. They took on familiar faces in DKE FR and really controlled the contest throughout.. Matt Stein led the way with 21 points in this one. They are in a great spot right now as they sit in second place all alone and are just 6 points behind #1 Team ZBT in the Standings.. If not for ZBT’s tremendous start, the story of the first half would really be the DKE SO1 crew.. They will have an opportunity to steal the headlines (and the #2 Ranking) next Wednesday when they take on #2 Theta Chi SR in the Game of the Week.

4. Team Sammy (Schweitzer Title Gold) – Currently in 4th with 45 points

So their Week 4 Game didn’t go as they hoped against #1 Team ZBT.  Just one Game and they are still sitting pretty in sole possession of 4th place in the Standings.. They are still right there with the Top Teams and aren’t going anywhere soon.. Jeremy Goodman had another nice night with 17 points.  It’s funny how things keep turning out this way but they will be a part of another big Game in Week 5 when they take on the streaking #5…

5. Team SIG SR (Mezes Orange) – Currently in 5th with 42 points

After getting off to a bit of a slow start in 2016 the SIG SR squad has turned it around in the past couple of weeks and got what was their biggest W of the season on Wedesnday Night against Delta Sig.  Adam Feldman turned in the biggest performance of the night as he totaled FORTY-ONE in Week 4.   SIG SR is about to embark on a very important stretch (yes, it’s important for everyone) but based on their opponents they have a real shot of ending the season at or near the top of the Standings if they can take care of their own business.. They will face #1 ZBT to conclude the Regular Season.. One week at a time however, and in Week 5 they will get #4 Team Sammy.  Can they keep leapfrogging Teams?

6. Team Theta Chi SO (StudentCity) – Currently in 6th with 39 points

Earning their first Hoops W of the Season was the Theta Chi SOs. Captain Jeremy Levin led the way with 23 points on the night against the AEPi SOs.  As we have crossed the halfway point of the Regular Season, this group is dead center in the Standings and their Playoff journey really can be dictated with how they play in the next couple of weeks.. They can still work their way up near the top of the Standings, yet several Teams are hot in their heels as well..  They take on one of those Teams in Week 5 Hoops, #7…

7. Team AEPi SR (Mezes Gold) – Currently tied for 7th with 33 points

What a Game between two strong AEPi squads on Wednesday Night.. The SRs edged out the FR in an OT classic on Wednesday Night. Jordan Liss once again led the offense with 20 points in Week 4.  They are going to have a very tough test when they get back to Hoops for Week 5 as they’ll take on the feisty Team Theta Chi SO group. It’s a big Game as we start closing in on the Playoffs.. A win means they will jump at least 2 Teams in the Standings (as Teams ahead of them are playing each other in Week 5).  If they bring the same intensity they could be sitting with a much higher Ranking a week from now!

8. Team DKE SO2 (Spikeball) – Currently in 9th with 30 points

They dropped a heartbreaker to #2 Team Theta Chi SR on Wednesday Night.  While you don’t get points in the Standings for “moral victories” in All Sports Series, they showed that they can compete with the League’s very best.. This is a group that has at least 1 Playoff W in them if not more.. They had 4 Players in double figure scoring, which is a perfect example of their great depth. Charlie Sloane led the way with 16.  They have a chance to turn the League upside down in Week 5 when they take on #1 Team ZBT in Hoops.

Rest of the Pack (ALPHABETICAL ORDER)

Team AEPi FR (cea Study Abroad) – Currently in 11th with 24 points

They took their SR squad to OT but just couldn’t come away with a W in what was phenomenal Game on Wednesday Night. Kyle Frankel had a big 27 for his group in Week 4.  They now look to rebound and pick up a needed W against the other FR, Team DKE FR, a group that is also just ahead of them in the Standings. This should definitely be one to watch in Week 5.

Team AEPi SO (Schweitzer Title Blue) – Currently in 12th with 12 points

Dropped their Week 4 Game with Team Theta Chi SO.. No point to dwell on that. There’s still plenty of time for them to bounce back and turn everything around.. They will take on Team Delta Sig in Week 4 and that is a Team they can certainly pass and catch in the Standings.  This Team has enough talent to Win Games.. Just a matter of time!

Team Delta Sig (Mezes Green) – Currently tied for 7th with 33 points

Played a solid Game on Wednesday Night with Team SIG SR but came up a bit short.. Captain Ethan had 23 and Ian Cosgrove had 21.   They will enter Week 5 tied for 7th in the Standings and will take on Team AEPi SO who are currently 0-2 in Hoops.. If they can string together a couple Wins in the next few weeks they have all the capability to make an extended Playoff Run at the end of March.  Best thing for them is to just turn the page on Week 4 and start prepping for AEPi SO.

Team DKE FR (Ella Designs Jewelry Red) – Currently in 10th with 27 points

Took on the DKE SO1 squad on Wednesday Night and as the season has worn on, that has proven to be a tough task for any Team.. They turn the page and look ahead to Week 5 now where they will take on Team AEPi FR in a battle of the Freshman squads.. More importantly than the age here, is that they are currently sitting a few points above AEPi FR and to keep it that way they will need to get their first Hoops W of the Season. They can get it done!

That’s it for us. Have a great week!
