Co-Ed Power Rankings

1) Team Tri Delt/SAE (SLA Insurance) – Currently in 1st with 45 points.

Following Flag Football on Wednesday Night, Team Tri/Delt are alone in first place of the Standings and they rightfully earned the accolade of getting the #1 spot in the first ever Champaign Co-Ed Power Rankings. They are led by Anna Tomaszewski and Chris Stearns.. They got a big shutout W on Wednesday Night over Team KKG/Phi Delt.  They will get after it on the football field once again next Wednesday as they are going to take part of the StudentCity Co-Ed Game of the Week against #2…

2) Team Gphi/SAE 17s (Schweitzer Title Agency) – Currently tied for 3rd with 20 points.

Coming in at #2 in the first set of Co-Ed Power Rankings is a Senior squad of Gamma Phis and SAEs.  They enter the Co-Ed League as a true favorite as their group of guys have done very well throughout the years in the Champaign League and Co-Captain Chris Valvassori has as much experience leading an All Sports Series Team as any human out there.. He is joined by Tori Winner in leading this group. They got a big W on Wednesday Night and showed that their Offense was certainly something to be reckoned with.. They put up 38 points which was by far the most in the League.. They will take to the Football field once more in the Regular Season in the StudentCity Co-Ed Game of the Week and face #1 Team Tri Delt/SAE for the #1 spot!

3) Team Gphi/Sammy’s 18s (Spare Time) – Currently tied for 3rd with 20 points.

#3 this week goes to a group of Juniors comprised of Gamma Phis and Sammy’s.  Co-Captained by Bailey Moag and Justin Gerszonovicz this is a Team with lots of depth and a ton of potential! They got a close W over Team Alpha Phi/ZBT this past Wednesday Night in looked great in the process.  The guys on this Team were certainly happy to grab a W over Rivals ZBT in that one.. Looking ahead to their next Game.. They will have Flag Football once again with Team Bergdoll/Pikes on Wednesday Night.

4) Team KKG/Phi Delt (Houlihan’s) – Currently in 2nd with 25 points.

Final Team into the Rankings is Team KKG/Phi Delt. They were unable to get a W this past week but they came into Flag Football tied for first from Kickball the week prior.  This group is led by Jack Brassil and Claire Follis. They have a lot of talent on this squad and while they ran into a tough matchup with #1 Team Tri Delt/SAE last Wednesday they will look to rebound this coming Wednesday Night with another Flag Football Game against Team Alpha Phi/ZBT.

Rest of the Pack (Alphabetical Order)

Team Alpha Phi/ZBT (Sushi Kushi) – Currently tied for 5th with 0 points.

They had a great Game on Wednesday Night against Team Gphi/Sammy’s 18s but came up just a touch short as they fell by 3 points in Football.  It was one that either Team could have won. They are going to be just fine though this season.. Led by Jay Lehrman and Alyson Wiemken there is plenty of talent all the way up and down the Roster.  They look to rebound with their final Flag Football contest of the Regular Season this coming Wednesday Night against Team KKG/Phi Delt!

Team Bergdoll/Pikes (StudentCity) – Currently tied for 5th with 0 points.

Men’s Power Rankings

1) Team SigEp (Meijer) – Currently in 1st with 60 points.

And then there was just one.. To say that Team SigEp has been dominant throughout the years would be a crazy understatement.. Not only are they the 2x Defending Champs but they are playing each and every week with a gigantic bullseye on their backs.. It hasn’t stopped them from getting to 3-0.  The only Team in the League to do so. Captain Mike Thompson and co. look fantastic in all three sports which comprise the Playoffs and if September is any indication of what we’ll get in November, we might really see the first 3peat in All Sports Series history. Nico Caracciolo had himself a day with 3 TDs on the night. They have another tough test with #5 Team SAE 17-18s in Football this coming Wednesday.

2) Team ATO (Starr Limo) – Currently in 2nd with 45 points.

All the way up to #2 which is their highest spot thus far is Team ATO.  They got a big-time W this past Wednesday Night in Flag Football against Team AKL.  This was thanks in large part to Captain Bobby Dunn and his 4 TDs on the night. That tied for the League Lead in Week 3.  Very impressive outing for him. They’ve won two Games in a row but now will face their toughest test of the Season so far.. They are going to face the angry #4 Team Sammy’s 18s fresh off a Loss in the StudentCity Game of the Week!

3) Team Pikes (cea Study Abroad) – Currently tied for 4th with 35 points.

Through three Weeks these guys have two gigantic Ws to their name.. In Week 1 they defeated current #2 Team ATO in Hoops and then most recently in Week 3 they took down previously undefeated and current #4 Team Sammy’s 18s in Flag Football. A sport those guys rarely lose in.. It was a statement W that these guys are the real deal and they are going to factor into the Crown in 2016. Shane Speilman helped shoulder a lot of the Offensive responsibility.. He’ll need to again when they take on a hungry Theta Chi squad.

4) Team Sammy’s 18s (Schweitzer Title) – Currently in 3rd with 40 points.

A rare Loss for Team Sammy’s 18s.  Last year they pretty much ran through the Regular Season and this year started off the same way.. They met a speed bump on Wednesday Night named Team Pikes in what was the best Flag Football Game of the Night. They lost by a point and while they’ll feel an immediate sting from the Loss it may be the difference for them from a year ago.. In a positive way.. They didn’t see much adversity throughout the early stages of the season in 2015 and then come Playoff time, in a close Game, they weren’t sure how to react.. This is going to make them stronger.. They have a potential statement Win ahead of them this coming Wednesday Night in the StudentCity Game of the Week against #2 Team ATO.

5) Team SAE 17-18s (iHotel Navy) – Currently tied for 4th with 35 points.

Up a spot after a Win on Wednesday Night are the vets Team SAE 17-18s. They got a Win that they will likely remember for quite some time as they defeated their younger bros. the Team SAE 19-20s squad. Brendan Conlon helped key the W with a few TDs in this one. Looking ahead now, they have what will be their biggest Game of the Regular Season this coming Wednesday.. They will take on 2x Defending Champs and current Undefeated #1 Team SigEp in what will surely be an instant classic. Get your popcorn ready folks.

6) Team ZBT (iHotel Gold) – Currently tied for 6th with 25 points.

They fall down a spot this week after a rare Flag Football Loss. Granted, it did come against 2x Defending Champs and currently Undefeated #1 Team SigEp. So no real shame in that.. It was a defensive affair and they just couldn’t get the ball in the end zone to cut into the SigEp lead late. They look to rebound this coming Wednesday in their final Flag Football contest of the season against Team SAE 19-20s.

7) Team Sammy’s 19s (Farm Lake Barn) – Currently in 8th with 20 points.

Into the Rankings for the first time this season and after their first W as a Franchise on Wednesday Night. These guys can really play Football. Ian Fulton tallied 4 TDs to tie for the League Lead and really provide some much needed Offense. Ben Weinstein was his go to Receiver, hauling 3 TDs of his own. They look to keep the momentum alive against Team AKL in Week 4!

Rest of the Pack (Alphabetical Order)

Team AKL (Biaggi’s Purple) – Currently in 9th with 15 points.

They’ve dropped a couple in a row since their Week 1 Hoops Win.. They have plenty of time to right the ship however. They fell to #2 Team ATO in Football. Certainly a tough assignment.. Patryk Karkut accounted for a couple scores on the night.. They will look to rebound against Team Sammy’s 19s in Football this coming Wednesday. While it’s still early in the season, these two Teams are neck and neck in the Standings right now and it is certainly a key matchup for potential playoff seeding down the line!

Team SAE 19-20s (Biaggi’s Gold) – Currently tied for 6th with 25 points.

They fell to their older brothers, the SAE 17-18s, in a very fun Flag Football Game on Wednesday Night. They got a couple scores from Will McCain who had a nice night.. The Game could have gone their way but sometimes experience wins out and the older SAEs certainly have that as an advantage right now.. These guys are really good though and it will be surprising to not see them rebound quickly (just as they did after Week 1).. They take on #6 Team ZBT on Wednesday Night.

Team Theta Chi (Chipotle) – Currently in 10th with 0 points.

They are still searching for their first W in Franchise history, but that one is always the hardest to get.. The flood gates will open afterwards.. They have been in Games, they just need to now find ways to win them.. Captain Zach Boaz tallied 2 scores for his Team on the night. They have a big one staring them down this coming Wednesday Night when they take on #3 Team Pikes. It will be a tough contest for them, but one they can win and one that can totally turn their season around.

That’s it for this week. Have fun with your second dose of Flag Football on Wednesday!
