2016 Chicago Co-Ed – Week 3 (June 20)

Updated: June 23, 2016

Team Stratton finished Week 3 right where they began it.. Atop both the Standings and the Power Rankings. They’ve now gotten all 50 of their potential points.. Great start!  Elsewhere, we had some great Hoops and Flag Football action in Week 3! Here’s a Link to the Weekly Highlight Video

One more thing before we get to the Power Rankings, our MVP Sponsor for the Chicago Summer Leagues is none other than Live Clean Chicago! They are the best Cleaning Service in Chicago bar none and more importantly you can trust them to clean your place (even if you aren’t home). Myself and my family (Holden) use them frequently!  One more brief mention as it’s likely you will want to know..   The Cubs are officially BACK and  Wrigley View Rooftop has you covered! There is no better experience for getting Cubs action while enjoying the perks of all you can eat/drink!

OK Let’s Rank ‘Em!

Power Rankings

1. Team Stratton (Chicago Trolley) – Currently in 1st with 50 points.

Team Stratton has been so impressive they are scaring away the competition!  Still perfect on the Season and will have Indoor Soccer v. #3 Team Mortier in the Live Clean Chicago Game of the Week on Monday Night!

2. Team Hakimian (Hakimian Imports) – Currently in 2nd with 49 points.

3-0 and looking more impressive with each passing Week.  They are a combined 6-0 on Monday Nights when factoring in the Chicago Men’s League. Just unreal.   Co-Captain Benny Lalez led the league in TDs in Week 3 with 4.  The entire Team basically got into the scoring frenzy with nearly the whole roster finding the endzone.. They will have Indoor Soccer on Monday Night. There are not many “firsts” for Team Hakimian as they’ve seen it all in All Sports Series, but Indoor Soccer is new this Summer.. They will help kick us off in the opening Game on Monday Night.

3. Team Mortier (Dr. Jacob D.D.S.) – Currently in 3rd with 46 points.

Easily their biggest W of the young season thus far.. They took on and took down the Defending Champs Team Wolter in Flag Football.. In extremely impressive fashion we might add.. QB1 Randy Brown had himself a day with 3 TDs.. Hitting both Jamie Lazar and Zach Englefield for a score.. Caroline Schwartz showed once again how she is an absolute warrior as well. They now look ahead for a soccer clash with #1 Team Stratton in the Live Clean Chicago Game of the Week!

4. Team Lake (Orunje) – Currently in 4th with 41 points.

Another Week and another W for Team Lake.. In Week 3, they defeated Team Gordon on the Hoops Court. Sam Ofman was huge with 33 points and brother Dan chipped in 13 of his own as well. These guys are showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon.  Looking ahead they have Team Loewenstein in Indoor Soccer next week.. With #1 Team Statton and #3 Team Mortier playing each other on Monday.. Another Team Lake Win means they will definitely be in the Top 3 next week!

5. Team UM Alumni (Al’s Beef on WESTERN) – Currently in 5th with 29 points.

HUGE W for the Univ. of Michigan Chicago Alumni on Monday Night! They defeated Team Reef in Hoops and with that W, are now ranked as high as the Franchise has ever been in their two seasons in All Sports Series. As we’ve mentioned they are much improved from a year ago and the results are all the proof we need. Michael Dent had 25 on the night and Christine Schumacher had 23.. They were an unstoppable duo! Next up is Soccer against Defending Champs Team Wolter.

6. Team Wolter (Danley’s Garage) – Currently in 6th with 18 points.

The Defending Champs have a bit of a slide.. It often happens the year after winning the Championship and much of that can be attributed to the giant targets on their backs all season long.. That is what makes going Back2Back so difficult in All Sports Series. In general, the Co-Ed League is more talented than a year ago.. Don’t count the Champs out though.. They just need to a bit of time to re-adjust and they will be just fine!

Rest of the Pack (Alphabetical Order)

Team Gordon (the Karyn Collection) – Currently tied for 7th with 15 points.

They dropped a competitive Game with Team Lake in Hoops on Monday Night. Nick Block had 16 and Spencer Hadelman had 14 of his own.. They just couldn’t get enough stops on Defense to make one last big run at the lead.. They are going to look to bounce back and up into the Rankings when they take on Team Sternberg in Indoor Soccer on Monday Night.

Team Loewenstein (Teplitz & Bell) – Currently tied for 7th with 15 points.

Fell to undefeated Team Hakimian in Flag Football on Monday Night. No shame in that whatsoever.. They are still getting to know each other as teammates and it will take some time.. Zachary Talmadge had a pair of TDs in this one and Ashtyn Jarvis also found the endzone.  They have a chance to upend #4 Team Lake in Indoor Soccer on Monday Night!

Team Reef (TOW Caps) – Currently tied for 9th with 9 points.

Played a very tough UM Alumni crew in Hoops on Monday Night. They just couldn’t stop them from scoring in the paint.. Captain Leor had 24 points though.. Talal Salim Abdun and John Clarke both were in double digits as well. We have it on good authority they are going to be a very good Indoor Soccer squad and they will have a chance to dish undefeated #2 Team Hakimian their first L!

Team Sternberg (SLA Insurance) – Currently tied for 9th with 9 points.

That’s it for this Week. See everyone on Monday Night for Week 4!
