Power Rankings

1. Team Kowalczyk (popchips) – 2-0, Currently tied for 1st

The Defending Champs put up a whopping 23 Goals on Sunday Afternoon. In one Game they scored more than many Teams will get in a month. Absolutely insane numbers for them in Week 2. Matt Kowalczyk had NINE Goals. NINE!  Brother and Captain Mike had 6 Goals and 6 assists and trails Matt by two Goals for the League lead in Goals Scored.  Their phenomenal Offense led to an easy night on the Defensive end and last year’s Championship Goaltender, Drew Bienhoff, earned the first shutout of the Season.  Next week, we’ll have a Championship Rematch as #1 takes on #3 Team Harris in the Wrigley View Rooftop Game of the Week!

2. Team Robinson (Schweitzer Title) – 2-0, Currently tied for 1st

Has any Team been more impressive than Team Robinson to start the Season?  They walloped last year’s Runners-Up Team Harris before just running through last year’s #4 seed Team Holzman this past Sunday. They are just killing it on the Offensive end. Both Vladimir Kotliarchuk and Nick Andriacchi had 5 goals a piece on Sunday and Joel Malchuk had 4 of his own. They come in waves and are as deep as any Team we’ve seen in the Floor Hockey League.. Come Playoff time when Teams need to win multiple Games on the same day, depth is going to really matter.. Team Kaplan is on deck in Week 3 for them.

3. Team Harris (Wrigley View Rooftop) – 1-1, Currently tied for 4th

On Sunday we saw the Team Harris we’ve come to expect throughout the years.. They were able to shake-off a tough Week 1 and really bring it against former #3 Team Kandelman. Jeremy Mann had a hat trick in this one and Jason Shape tallied another couple to get his season total to 5.  Jake Miller also had a very nice day in between the pipes to get his first W of the season.  They are not going to celebrate long as they’ve been waiting about 10 months for what is coming next Sunday! It will be a Championship Rematch in Week 3 as Team Harris takes on #1 Team Kowalczyk!

4. Team Weisel (SLA Insurance) – 2-0, Currently tied for 1st

Their journey to 2-0 was easier than expected. Needless to say, they are eager to make it 3-0 when they get Team Holzman next Sunday afternoon.

5. Team Kandelman (StudentCity) – 1-1, Currently tied for 4th

A week after starting the year 1-0, Team Kandelman, fell to Team Harris on Sunday afternoon.  Those two Teams met in the Semi-Finals last year and went to 3 Games in what was one of the more memorable series of the entire Playoffs. Then too, it was Team Harris getting the upper hand and with this latest victory all of a sudden Team Kandelman is now faced with having to wait and hope for a Playoff rematch to exact revenge on their Rival.

Rest of the Pack (Alphabetical Order)

Team Holzman (Chicago Trolley) – 0-2, Currently tied for 6th

Yes, Team Holzman is 0-2. A slow start for last year’s #4 seed in the Playoffs. However, allow us to remind everyone that they started last year 0-2 as well before going on an absolute tear the rest of the way.  Are we about to see the 6-out line-up make a comeback?!  They get the unbeaten #4 Team Weisel on Sunday, which provides the perfect opportunity to turn it all around.

Team Kaplan (Theory) – 0-2, Currently tied for 6th

Team Nelson (Rhoyal Decadence) – 0-2, Currently tied for 6th

Slow starts are not the end of the world and especially if the group can learn from the first few Losses. Team Nelson is 0-2 but has already played both #1 Team Kowalczyk and #4 Team Weisel. This is a group that is going to get better with time as many are just getting to know one another.  As the season moves along they are going to be a much stronger group. Team Kandelman awaits on Sunday.
That’s it for Week 2. See you next Sunday!
