Playoff Format

The Playoffs will be a Single Elimination Tournament of Flag Football played on Sunday April 17.  The Bracket shows where Teams start in the tourney and that is based on Regular Season standings.. Win or Go Home!

Playoff Preview

Opening Round

6. Team SNU FR/SO (Schweitzer Title Gold) v. 7. Team AEPi FR/SO (Schweitzer Title Gray)

The two youngest squads will square off in the Opening Round with the Winner earning a trip to the Quarterfinals to take on 3. Team Neistein.  Depth is going to play a huge role in the Playoff journeys for both of these Teams.. They’d have to roll off 4 straight Games, which of course is no easy feat with the great competition that resides in the East Lansing League. Crazier things have certainly happened.. Either way, one of these two squads will be able to use this Playoff W as a real catalyst as they look toward future All Sports Series Leagues as upperclassmen.  Good Luck!

3. Team Neistein (Bell’s Greek Pizza) v. Winner of 6/7

#3 Team Neistein has been solid all season long and that is evidenced by their #3 overall seed.  They will face the Winner of the Opening Round Game on Sunday in the Quarterfinals to start their Playoff Campaign.. As Team Neistein sits right now they will have to win 3 Games to win the Crown.. They have enough talent to certainly get it done.. Captain Zach and co. must not overlook whoever they play in this Quarterfinal Game though.. Whoever their opponent will be, will certainly be riding a wave of momentum into this Game.  If they can get past the 6/7 Winner here, they will take on 2. Team Pike in the Semis!

4. Team Rijos (Campus View Blue) v. 5. Team SNU JR/SR (Campus View White)

The other Quarterfinal matchup is going to be between Team Rijos and Team SNU JR/SR.. They are playing for the right to take on 1. Team AEPi SR in the Semi-Finals!  Either Team is truly capable of winning this entire thing but to do so, they’ll need to earn this initial victory.. Flag Football is usually won by the Team who makes the fewest mistakes.. That should be the difference here.. The Team with the fewer amount of of turnovers is your likely victor and that Team will carry a ton of momentum into a titanic matchup with AEPi SR..

1. Team AEPi SR (Campus View Red) v. Winner of 4/5

Team AEPi SR has been at the top all season long and that is where they start the Playoffs.. Seeded #1..  It’s not where you start the Playoffs though, it’s where you finish.. They are just 2 victories from the Crown. They are still a hungry bunch that wants to take the Crown before leaving East Lansing.  They will face the Winner of the Rijos v. SNU JR/SR Game..  That Team will be coming in with momentum.. AEPi SR will need to withstand that initial surge and then use it to their benefit.. They will certainly have more energy left in the tank compared to their opponent.. The Winner of this Game between AEPi SR and the Winner of Rijos/SNU will go to the Championship!

2. Team Pike (Spare Time Entertainment) v. Winner of 3/6/7

Much like 1. AEPi SR, #2 Team Pike has been near the top of the Standings for the majority of the Spring here in East Lansing.. They have the benefit of a bye to the SEMIS and want to make the most of it. They are just 2 Wins away from holding the Crown but those 2 Games will likely be very tough tests.. They will play the Winner of 3. Team Neistein and either the AEPi FR or SNU FR/SO..   Team Neistein has been a tough competitor all season as well and if these two meet with a spot in the Championship on the line, it could steal the show on Sunday!

There you have it.. By Sunday, we will Crown our #CHAMPS!
