Tuesday Night brought us our 2nd Week of Games and with it came an extremely special performance.. Daniel Ostrower was ON FIRE from deep and went for 44 points on the night for Team Sammy to help them get to 2-0.  Team AEPi1 also moved to 2-0 to join Team Sammy as the only Undefeated Teams left!  More on that below.

Power Rankings

1) Team Sammy (MacTaggart’s Market Orange) – 2-0

He was mentioned at the top but when you score 44 points you deserve a couple shout-outs.. Daniel Ostrower had a record-setting night.. Highest score we’ve ever had in Madison.  For those wondering, 63 is the most we’ve ever had in an All Sports Series Game. What a night for Daniel and Team Sammy as they get the big Win over Team Fiji.  They will be tested once again in the StudentCity Game of the Week with #3 Team Ksig JR.

2) Team AEPi 1 (MacTaggart’s Market Gray) – 2-0

Keeping pace with #1 Team Sammy is #2 Team AEPi 1 who got their second Win of the season and this week it was against Team DU. Captain Max Goshen had 16 and Trevor Bergher had 14 in the Win. These guys seem to really be gelling as a unit which is scary for the rest of the League. They will take on #4 Team Ksig SO in what should be a great Game in Week 3.

3) Team Ksig JR (Ian’s Pizza) – 1-1

Grabbing their first W and vaulting all the way up to #3 in the Rankings is Team Ksig JR who defeated former #2 Team Sig Chi. Mike Kelch had 18 points to lead his squad on the night.  They definitely bounced back nicely from Week 1. Looking ahead, they will try to dish #1 Team Sammy their first Loss of the Season and try to prevent Daniel Ostrower from going bonkers from 3 once again.. If they do, they will certainly find themselves in the Top-2 a Week from now!

4) Team Ksig SO (Badger Bowl Green) – 1-1

Also, hopping up this week is another Kappa Sig Team — The Sophomores — led by Mike Kollada and Luke Libert.  They fell to #1 Team Sammy in Week 1 but really rebounded well in Week 2 with a big W over Team AEPi 2.  Peter Poggioli had 19 and Chris Swade had 16 to help lead the Offense on Tuesday. They now have a big time Game in Week 3 with the other AEPi squad led by Max Goshen. AEPi1 is currently Ranked #2 and also undefeated.. Big Week!

5) Team Sig Chi (Badger Bowl Lime) – 1-1

Rounding out the Top-5 is Team Sig Chi who falls back a few spots following their Loss to Team Ksig JR this past Tuesday. Eric Shor had 13 to lead his Team on the night in scoring.. They are a well rounded bunch but just couldn’t get enough stops against Kappa Sig in Week 2.  They look to get back above .500 against Team Fiji and Captain Randall Pulfer in Week 3.

Rest of the Pack (Alphabetical Order)

Team AEPi 2 (Madison Taxi) – 0-2

These guys battled hard but were up against a hungry and angry Kappa Sig SO Team on Tuesday Night. Drew Lukoff was overshadowed by the 44-point but he had 20 on the night and was the second-highest scorer in Week 2. They take on another 0-2 squad, Team DU, in Week 3 where someone is assured to get their first W of the season!

Team DU (Badger Bowl Red) – 0-2

They’ve had one of the rougher schedules to start the season as luck would have it.. They fell to 2-0 AEPi1 squad on Tuesday Night. Their scoring was well spread around and at some points they were being too unselfish with the ball. They are looking for that go to scorer and maybe Jack Burgess’ absence was the reason why. He was their leading scorer in Week 1. They have their sights set on their first Win of the year when they take on Team AEPi2 in Week 3!

Team Fiji (Badger Bowl Gray) – 1-1

Remember, this section is alphabetical! Team Fiji would come in at #6 this Week if we went that far.. They fell victim to the miraculous shooting of Daniel Ostrower, who again, had 44 points on the night. When someone is just feeling it, there’s not much you can do.. Just ask Team AEPi2 about Randall Pulfer’s first half in Week 1.. Anyways, things didn’t quite go their way but Peter Sandvick had a nice night with 15 points. They will look to get back over .500 against Team Sig Chi who also sits at 1-1 on the season

That’s it for this week. Good Luck in Week 3!
