2016 Suburbs College/Prep – Week 2 (June 22)

By
Updated: June 23, 2016

The Weather had other plans for the College/Prep League in Week 2 as we had to cancel all of the Outdoor Games.. Which meant 3/4 of the League will have make-ups scheduled shortly.. We did still have a couple of Hoops Games that saw Two Teams grab their first Wins of the Year: Team Baum and Team Arenson.  JUST A REMINDER — EVERYONE HAS VOLLEYBALL THIS SUNDAY, ONLY NON-WEDNESDAY NIGHT OF THE SUMMER..   Also, here’s a Link to the Weekly Highlight Video!  Power Rankings will a be a bit brief this Week considering most Teams didn’t play but still a bit of shaking up in the Rankings..

One more thing before we get to the Power Rankings, our MVP Sponsor for the Chicago Summer Leagues is none other than cea Study AbroadIf you plan on traveling abroad while at School, then you need to check out cea.  TONS of our Players have studied with cea in the past handful of years and they are offering awesome Grants to All Sports Series participants!  Also, SPRING BREAK is just around the corner and there’s only one company that you should travel through — StudentCity — they too are offering our Players GREAT DEALS!  You can even go for FREE!

OK Let’s Rank ‘Em!

Power Rankings

1. Team Kollada (Sushi Kushi Too) – Currently tied for 11th with 0 points.

2. Team Zisook (First Bank of HP) – Currently tied for 5th with 15 points.

3. Team Kauss (TOW Caps) – Currently tied for 5th with 15 points.

4. Team Sutker (Camp Ojibwa) – Currently tied for 1st with 22 points.

5. Team Wellek (Poopie Palz) – Currently tied for 1st with 22 points.

6. Team Gordon (Gordon Bros.) – Currently tied for 5th with 15 points.

7. Team Fialkow (Baker Boys) – Currently tied for 5th with 15 points.

8. Team Arenson (Spikeball) – Currently tied for 5th with 15 points.

Team Arenson grabbed their first W of the Summer in Hoops on Wednesday Night. Good Teams bounce back quickly and that’s exactly what they did in Week 2. Mitchell Talbot led the way with 16 and Jack Byrne had a dozen of his own on Wednesday Night as well.  This is a group that is capable of running the table. They have that much talent and definitely have a ton of confidence as well. They will have Volleyball along with the rest of the League on Sunday!

9. Team Baum (ALX Salon) – Currently tied for 5th with 15 points.

Similar to Team Arenson above, Team Baum showed that they are capable of looking a Loss in the eye and getting right past it.. That is so key in All Sports Series where matchups based on sport can really dictate the outcome.. They are clearly at home on the Hoops Court which is no surprise after the run they had this past Winter in the IHSA Playoffs.. Captain Jordan led with 32 and Jordan Sherman had 19 of his own. Jeremy Sernick also helped out with 15 points on Wednesday Night.  Next they will compete in Volleyball for the first time in their All Sports Series careers on Sunday afternoon!

10. Team Herz (StudentCity) – Currently tied for 5th with 15 points.

They looked excellent in Week 1 on the Flag Football field and they were hoping to follow up with a 2nd W on Wednesday Night but ran into the buzzsaw that is the Team Baum Offense. There was just no stopping them.. They had tried zone. They tried man. It just didn’t matter.. Brody Nash followed up his impressive Week 1 with an 18 point performance on Wednesday. Ari Hoffman had 17 as well. They have Volleyball on Sunday afternoon!

11. Team Sanchez (Sarkis Cafe) – Currently tied for 1st with 22 points.

Team Sanchez had their actual roster for the first time on Wednesday Night and while they couldn’t follow up their W in Week 1 with a second one in Week 2, they clearly are going to be just fine this Summer! Captain Joey is very familiar with All Sports Series and has assembled a crew that will do some damage as the Summer progresses!

Rest of the Pack (Alphabetical Order) – All Currently tied for 11th with 0 points.

Team Gerszonovicz (Dr. Jacob D.D.S.)

Team Maentz (Biaggi’s)

Team Randall Pulfer (Once Upon a Bagel)

Team Reece Pulfer (Testing Timers)

Team Sledd (Sunset Foods)

That’s it for this week. The revised schedule will be up soon! See everyone Sunday!
