Power Rankings

1. Team Fat Sal’s – 2-0

Alone atop the Standings through Week 2 is Team Fat Sal’s.  They have gotten off to a hot start on the gridiron and have compiled two by a combined 11 points.. Showing they can get it done late in Games when the pressure is on. Patrick Sernyak accounted for a couple of scores while Jonathan Broker and Dustin Potter also found the endzone. Captain Matt Feigin’s Team is the real deal! They will take on some former Teammates in Team Rosen in Softball when we return on March 26.

2. Team ZBT JR (SLA Insurance) – 1-0

Team ZBT JR had an impressive debut performance on Sunday afternoon. Captain Brent Rubin tallied 5 combined TDs and picked up right where he left off in the Fall as one of the League’s best Flag Football players. He has the League lead for TDs and has only played in 1 Game while some have played 2x. This crew brings back a core that was very successful in their first All Sports Series last Fall.  They look to continue their success when we return on March 26 against their younger bros. ZBT SO.

3. Team SAE FR (StudentCity Red) – 1-0

Team SAE FR had their All Sports Series debut on Sunday afternoon and are led by Captain Matthew White. They defeated the ZBT FR 26-25 in an instant classic! Dean Taylor and JT Hildebrand both accounted for 3 scores in their first All Sports Series Game.. Not a bad start! They will move on to play Team ZBT SR on Sunday March 26.

4. Team Rosen (Spikeball) – 1-1

Team Rosen was able to avenge their Week 1 Loss to Team SAE SO and get the Win right back on Sunday afternoon. Joe Carmical helped tally 3 TDs and Parker Hinman found the endzone twice in the Win. They now have a couple of weeks to craft a strategy to take on #1 Team Fat Sal’s — many of whom are former Teammates of theirs. This will be the StudentCity Game of the Week!

5.  Team SAE SO (StudentCity Pink) – 1-1

Team SAE SO had a great Week 1, in fact they were Ranked #1 after their first ever All Sports Series Game — pretty much the dream scenario.. They came back for Week 2 and landed in the way of the buzzsaw that is Team ZBT JR and Brent Rubin on the Flag Football field. They now have really experienced the full swing that is All Sports Series. They just have to pick themselves up and start the climb back to #1.  Matthew Jordan had himself a nice day accounting for 3 scores in this one and Captain John Hurley scored as well. When we return from Spring Break they will take on Team ZBT FR.

Rest of the Pack (Alphabetical Order)

Team ZBT FR (Dr. Jacob D.D.S.) – 0-2

Team ZBT FR have lost their first 2 Games of the Season.. When you dig deeper though you realize that they have lost by a combined 5 points and to two Teams currently in the Top-3 of the Rankings. They are going to be just fine! Alex Gold had a great Game on Sunday, helping lead 4 TD drives. One of those would go to Captain Evan Anixter. They look to get their first Win of the Season when we return after Break against #5 SAE SO.

Team ZBT SO (cea Study Abroad) – 0-1

Team ZBT SR (TOW Caps) – 0-1

Team ZBT SR is led by Captain Cobey Koretz and has as much experience as any Team in the Austin League this Spring. They fared very well in both Flag Football and Softball during the Fall “All Sports” Season and should factor into who wins this whole thing later in the Spring.. They lost by a score to #1 Team Fat Sal’s on Sunday. No worries there.. Eli Sterbcow and Josh Weitzman connected for their lone score. They look to rebound after Spring Break against Team SAE FR!

That’s it for this Week. Have a great Spring Break and see you back on March 26!
