Power Rankings

1. Team ATO (Gourmet Cafe Navy) – 1-0

Team ATO is once again led by Jack Klein for the 3rd consecutive Bloomington season. These guys have been strong in 16″ Softball in the past – as they have many All Sports vets – and their bats were alive in their Week 1 clubbing of Team ZBT SR. They got a 24-2 Win and easily had the most runs of Week 1 by a long shot.  Daniel Chumbley and Alec Munce each reached base 4 times to set the tone. They take on the other ZBT crew – the SO/JRs in Week 2.

2. Team DTD JR (Gourmet Cafe Coral) – 1-0

Team DTD JR got off to a great start this Fall, once again led by Captain Johnny Pagano. They took on Team Sammy and won by a score of 16-2 on Wednesday Night. Matt Feinstein reached base in all 4 of his plate appearances, scored a few runs and drove one in. Joey Lythcke had a few hits as well in this one. They looked great. They look to get their 2nd straight W against familiar foes – the DTD SO club in Week 2!

3. Team AEPi SO/JR (Cea Study Abroad) – 1-0

Team AEPi SO/JR is again Captained by Evan Zisook this Fall. This group is full of All Sports Series vets and some members on this Team were on the AEPi squad that took home the 2015 Bloomington “All Sports” Crown. They won 15-5 over Matt Torvik’s Delts squad in Week 1. These guys can really hit and will be a top contender in the Rankings all season long. They get to take on the AEPi Seniors in Week 2 in a battle of inner-house supremacy.

4. Team Phi Psi (Chipotle) – 1-0

Team Phi Psi returns to All Sports Series this Fall and under Captain Brad Flink once again. They have some All Sports Series vets on the roster and this Team could be a sneaky pick to win the whole thing.. They defeated AEPi SR 7-3 in Week 1. They will be tested once again in Week 2 when they take on Team Delts.

5. Team Phi Sig (The Bucket List) – 1-0

Team Phi Sig got the closest and most exciting W of the night – defeating 2016 All Sports Champs – Team DTD SR by a score of 8-7.  This Game went back and forth and they just made more plays down the stretch to eek out the Win. Alex Pines and Alex Schneider each reached base 4 times to help lead the Offense in this one. Schneider knocked in 3 runs as well. They look to make it to 2-0 Team ZBT SR.

6. Team DTD SR (Biaggi’s) – 0-1

Team DTD SR is not going to be rattled by a Week 1 L. They have Championship pedigrees and know what they can do. They dropped the most competitive Game of the Week and they know full well they are going to get everyone’s best week in and week out with the targets on their backs. Captain Matt Braschi reached base in all 3 of his plate appearances and made a few nice grabs in Left Field. Ryan Sondles also had a couple big hits. They look to get back to .500 against Team Sammy in Week 2.

7. Team DTD SO (StudentCity) – 1-0

Captain Brandon Barthel once again leads Team DTD SO into battle this season. Captain Brandon, Connor Lewis, and Matthew Perasso  all had nice days at the plate for their club. They look to Week 2 now where they will take part in a big-time Rivalry Game, in fact it is the StudentCity Game of the Week against the DTD JR squad. Bragging rights are definitely on the line in this one!

8. Team AEPi SR (Dr. Jacob D.D.S. Blue) – 0-1

Team AEPi SR is led this season by Taylor Smetana. Many of these guys are All Sports Series vets and are not going to get down from a Week 1 Loss. They fell to Team Phi Psi in Week 1, but it was a well played Game on both sides. Their bats will come alive as the season progresses. They have a Rivalry Game coming with fellow-AEPi in the form of the SO/JR club. This one should be fun.

Rest of the Pack (Alphabetical Order)

Team Delts (Dr. Jacob D.D.S. Green) – 0-1

Team Delts is another group from the DTD house and it is the Spring Semester Seniors led by Matthew Torvik. They ran into a really tough crew in AEPi SO/JR. Their schedule will get easier in time. They fell by a score of 15-5 but need to just shake it off. They have a chance to pull even at 1-1 against Team Phi Psi in Week 2 and with a Win would likely hop up and into the Rankings.

Team Sammy (Black Canyon Bakehouse Purple) – 0-1

Team Sammy is Captained by Danny Grossberg this Fall. They fell against Team DTD JR in Week 1 but it was the first week and can’t dwell too much on it. DTD JR may be the best Team in the League. Chase Lauer and Ravi Moore had nice days at the plate for them. They look to get back to the .500 mark after Week 2 when they play 2016 “All Sports” Champs – Team DTD SR on Wednesday Night.

Team ZBT SO/JR (SLA Insurance) – 0-1

Team ZBT SR (Black Canyon Bakehouse Gray) – 0-1

Team ZBT SR took on #1 Team ATO on Wednesday Night and need to just forget this one. They have a bunch of athletic guys on the Team, and many have played in All Sports Series before including Matt Siegel. Captain Zach Lehrer had a hit and an RBI in this one. They now look ahead to Week 2 where they will take on Team Phi Sig and hopefully pull even at 1-1.

That’s it for Week 1. Looking forward to a great season!
