Power Rankings

1. Team Big Cheeze – 5-0

An impressive 2 Win victory over former undefeated #2 Team AEPi FR by 40 and then followed up with a 30+ point defeat over Team Evans Scholars… These guys can do it all. Chase Spreen in two Games totaled EIGHTY-THREE points.. Anytime you can average 40+ over the course of a night, your Team has a good shot at Winning.. They look to clinch the #1 overall seed against Team DTD SO on Sunday Night.

2. Team AEPi FR (Black Canyon Bakehouse Gray) – 4-1

Well, that didn’t go the way they wanted it to.. But playing the Big Cheeze has meant a blowout Loss for every opponent they’ve had this Spring.. Blake Schwartz went for 21 in this one but it wasn’t enough to match Chase Spreen of Team Big Cheeze. They look to close out the Regular Season and lock up a Top-4 seed against #4 Kappa Sig, who with a Win would leap them in the Standings due to the head to head tiebreaker. Big Game coming on Sunday! It is in fact, the StudentCity Game of the Week!

3. Team Delta Chi (Testing Timers) – 3-1

Off this week but have two Games upcoming this Sunday.. If they go 2-0 they will finish at least in the Top-3 and maybe higher. Tough night though with #8 ATO and #5 Sammy SR.

4. Team Kappa Sig 1 (StudentCity Orange) – 3-2

All the way up to #4 this week is Team Kappa Sig 1 following their Win over the DTD FR on Sunday evening. David Northey had 23 while Chase Casaburo and Connor Haxton both had 18 to help lead them to the Win. They find themselves in a great spot entering the StudentCity Game of the Week — they are currently tied for 4th (which is where you want to be.. the Top-4) and have a chance to knock off AEPi FR who sits a Game up.. A win would really help their Top-4 bid come Playoff time.

5. Team Sammy SR (Dr. Jacob D.D.S.) – 3-2

Sammy SR is another group still fighting to be part of the Top-4 come next Sunday night.. They fell back in the Standings a bit this week after falling to #11 Kappa Sig 2 on Sunday. Nick Reskin led with 14 and Brandon Krawitz had 11 in this one. They played well on D but couldn’t get enough buckets late to take it. They will take on 3-1 Delta Chi who they sit 1 Game Back of in the Loss Column. A win in that contest will help them immensely come tiebreaker time in what is going to be a crowded field for the 2-4 seeds. Remember – the Top-4 get an extra BYE come opening Night of the Playoffs.

6. Team Evans Scholars (Madison Taxi) – 3-2

They took on Team Big Cheeze. We know how the rest of this story goes.. They actually put up the best fight anyone has thus far.. through the first half at least.. Justuss Boice had 28 points in this one and played very well. They will take on Team ZBT when they attempt to get to 4-2 on the final Sunday of the Regular Season. A win there and they will be among the top few Teams vying for a top-4 spot. There are 7 Teams currently sitting with 2 or fewer Losses and depending on how things shake down on Sunday, they can be right there.

7. Team AEPi SO (cea Study Abroad Gold) – 3-2

Team AEPi SO got the closest Win of the Night on Sunday. They defeated Rivals Sammy SO 78-76 in this one and kept pace with many of the Teams near the top of the Standings. Niccolai Golshan had 15 and Josh Newlander scored 14.  They are 1 of 7 Teams still eligible to grab a Top-4 seed come the conclusion of the Regular Season. They will need a W over Team Kappa Sig 2 if they want to keep that Top-4 dream alive.

8. Team ATO (cea Study Abroad Green) – 2-3

They started out 0-2 but since have gone 2-1 and played their most complete Game this past Sunday Night in defeating Team Theta Chi by 30. Captain Jack Klein went off — scoring 35 on the night — and easily guiding his Team to victory. Joey Roberts added 14. They will take on #3 Team Delta Chi in Week 6 when they try to get to .500 before the Regular Season closes.

9. Team DTD JR/SR (Spikeball) – 2-3

They got a much needed victory over Rivals ZBT – who they met in the 2016 Championship Game.. This one will have them feeling good and allow them to head into the final Week of the Regular Season with some MO. Brendan Thomas had 23 and Captain Leland Pew had 13 in the Win. They finish the season against the struggling Theta Chi crew, who sit just a Game Back.. This one is big for both Teams as everyone is trying to leap one another for the best seed possible.

10. Team Sammy SO (StudentCity Pink) – 2-3

Team Sammy SO fell by a bucket to Team AEPi SO in Week 5. Definitely a hard Loss to swallow but they are still playing good Basketball and need to just move on with each Game now a big one.. Captain Jordan Krawitz had 16 and Jake Bloom had 15 in the Loss. They take on FR of DTD in Week 6. Both Teams sit at 2-3 so the Winner will not only finish the Season at .500 but will certainly get the higher seed among the 2. There are many Teams tied at 2-3 entering the Regular Season finale.. Lots of scoreboard watching to come.

11. Team Kappa Sig 2 (SLA Insurance) – 2-3

The Kappa Sig house had a great night on Sunday as both Teams 1 and 2 got Wins — it was the first time all season for a Kappa Sig sweep. Kappa Sig 2 had their best W of the year by taking down #5 Sammy SR. Eric Sankovich had a very impressive debut here going for 21 and he will surely help them in the Playoffs. They get #7 AEPi SO in what will be a sneaky good contest on Sunday Night. A win for Kappa Sig 2 would mean they catch AEPi SO in the Standings and then would hold a tiebreaker over them.

Rest of the Pack (Alphabetical Order)

Team DTD FR (Black Canyon Bakehouse Black) – 2-3

They took on Kappa Sig 1 and came up a bit short on Sunday Night. Ben Feldman had 27 and Patrick Mangano scored 17 on the night. At 2-3 they can still get to .500 to close out the season. They are on a skid right now after starting 2-0 and definitely want to get going before the Playoffs start on April 9. They finish up the Season against Sammy SO in Week 6.

Team DTD SO (popchips) 2-3

Team Sigma Nu (The Gourmet Cafe) – 0-5

Team Theta Chi (StudentCity Neon) – 1-4

Team Theta Chi got their first W of the Season (they’ll take it) and then laced them up for a battle with Team ATO. They couldn’t make it 2 in a row on Sunday but they at least got 1 in the Win Column. Jacob Rolfsen was once again their leading scorer and was in double figures. They will finish the season against DTD JR/SR and try to pick up some MO before going on a Cinderella ride.

Team ZBT (Biaggi’s) – 1-4

Team ZBT played Rivals DTD JR/SR in a Rematch of the 2016 “All Sports” League Championship this past November. Unfortunately, the same fate awaited them as they came up just a bit short in this one.. Austin Hersh went for 18 and Harris Silverstein scored 11 in this one. They look to pick up a key victory in the Regular Season finale against Team Evans Scholars.

That’s it for this week. Good Luck to everyone in the final week!
