Playoff Review

Open Rd7. Team Loewenstein (Dr. Jacob D.D.S. Gold) v. 10. Team Golembo (Schweitzer Title)

As we mentioned at the top, this was an Offensive explosion. Team Loewenstein got out to a fast start and it seemed as if they would cruise, however Team Golembo wouldn’t stay down. Each half inning seemed as if it was a gigantic momentum shift. Both Teams routinely grabbed crooked numbers in their frame. Captain Alex Loewenstein had a huge day with 7 RBI and a HR to eventually lead his club to a W. They will take on #2 Team Holzman next Sunday. Meanwhile for Team Golembo, Billy Barnes hit out 3 Jacks in a losing effort. They are not dead yet and if they can keep the hot sticks they have a chance to make a run in the ELIMINATION GAME bracket – they will take on #5 Team Kramer next Sunday!

1. Team Maione (Chipotle) v. 8. Team Shapiro (SLA Insurance)

Team Maione continued their Undefeated ride to the Crown on Sunday afternoon, starting their Playoff journey off with an 11-1 W over #8 Team Shapiro. The Game was actually close for the first few innings before Team Maione opened the flood gates. Captain Frank hit another one deep and they will now take on #4 Team Rhum on Sept. 24.  For Team Shapiro, Brad Holway drove in Scott Ingram for their lone run of the day. This crew has really turned it around in the second half of the season and they are not ready to go home yet. They will take on the Winner of #5 Team Kramer and #10 Team Golembo next Sunday in an ELIMINATION GAME!

3. Team Kaufman (Sunset Foods) v. 6. Team Massel (popchips)

We mentioned in the Playoff preview that this one could steal the show and for a while it was anyone’s Game. Brett Weiss turned the Game on its head with a huge HR for Team Massel in this one and they never looked back. Team Massel would get the W and continue on their journey toward their 2nd straight Championship Game appearance. They will be off next Sunday and will eventually play the Winner of #2 Team Holzman and #7 Team Loewenstein on Sept. 24.  As for #3 Team Kaufman they will also be off on Sept. 17 before coming back on Sept. 24 to play the loser of the Holzman/Loewenstein Game in an ELIMINATION GAME!

That’s it for this week. See many of you guys on Sunday!
