Power Rankings

1. Team Maione (Chipotle) – 5-0

Team Maione remains in the #1 slot of the Power Rankings after another good performance on the diamond. They moved to 5-0 after an offensive attack on Team Shapiro, winning 18-10. EIGHTEEN. Can anyone slow them down? Austin Natkin went yard again. Tyler Max went 3 for 4. They all had big days. EIGHTEEN RUNS. Next up is Team Colmery in 2 weeks after the break for 4th of July Weekend.

2. Team Holzman (Chicago Trolley) – 3-1

The Defending Champs got one of the easier wins they will see this season.

3. Team Kramer (StudentCity) – 4-1

Team Kramer moves up a spot to reflect their position in the Standings. They have now won 3 games in a row, the most recent victory being a 16-10 win over former #3 Team Holstein. John Schulte and Kevin Kramer both had 5 hits on Sunday. They look to try to catch up to Team Maione after the July 4th break with a game against Team Loewenstein.

4. Team Holstein (Dr. Jacob D.D.S. Purple) – 3-1

After a strong 3-0 start to the season, Team Holstein suffered their 1st loss of the year, a 10-16 defeat to Team Kramer. They just couldn’t keep Team Kramer from reaching base. The Chilow Twins went a combined 6 for 6 on Sunday.  They look to get back into the winning column in two weeks against Team Sharrin on July 9.

5. Team Rhum (cea Study Abroad) – 3-1

Team Rhum won a nail-biter against Team Colmery by the score of 5-4 this past week, to move their winning streak to 2 games. Zack Pearlstein and Andy Pollack both had nice days at the plate. Up next for them is a double header against Teams Holzman and Kauffman after the July 4th break. Their Game against Defending Champs Team Holzman will be a real measuring stick Game.

6. Team Massel (popchips) – 3-2

Team Massel suffered a heartbreaking Loss to Team Loewenstein by the score of 7-6 on Sunday afternoon. These guys will be just fine though, even after their short fall from the Top-5. The Brians – Zohn and Levitas – continue to rake at the plate for Team Massel. They will face Team Golembo in 2 weeks on Sunday July 9.

7. Team Loewenstein (Dr. Jacob D.D.S. Gold) – 2-2

Team Lowenstein was slotted with a double header this week, and split the pair of 1 run games, following their several week absence from the League. They ended up on the winning side of the game against Team Massel 7-6, but lost 7-8 to Team Shapiro. Likely not as predicted if you had to guess the outcomes prior to the Games on Sunday, but that is why you play them. Up next for them is a battle with #2 Team Kramer on July 9.

8. Team Shapiro (SLA Insurance) – 1-3

Team Shapiro split the two games of their day/night Double Header, #1 seed Maione before coming back and beating Team Loewenstein 8-7 to earn their first W of the Season! Matt Kaplan and Captain Joey had nice days at the plate! They look to continue with that momentum in two weeks against Team Kaufman.

Rest of the Pack (Alphabetical Order)

Team Colmery (Biaggi’s Black) – 1-4

Team Colmery has dropped 3 games in a row. The latest Loss came against Team Rhum by the score of 5-4 in one that they have loved to snag. Sean Frain was their leading hit man on Sunday. They look to get back into the swing of things (pun intended) after the July 4th break against dangerous #1 Team Maione.

Team Golembo (Schweitzer Title) – 1-3

Team Golembo’s bats woke up this week, beating Team Kaufman by a score of 10-5.  They started slowly last Summer before really finding their stride and that is apparently happening again. Jonathan Way was great on Sunday at the dish. They look to add another game to the win column in a few weeks when they will play Team Massel.

Team Kaufman (Sunset Foods) – 0-3

They have yet to find the win column this season, after losing their 3rd game in a row, to Team Golembo by the score of 10-5. They look to get out of the familiar losing territory in two weeks, and will have two chances because of their double header against Teams Shapiro and Rhum. This Team has enough talent to turn it around and a big Congrats to Scott Plotnick who got engaged before the Games last weekend!

Team Sharrin (Biaggi’s Neon) – 0-4

That’s it for Week 4. Enjoy the holiday break!
