Back to the diamonds we went on Sunday, even after getting quite a bit of rain the past week. There was a lot of good action on the fields this week. Team Maione stayed undefeated while Team Holzman jumped the ranks by winning both games of their double header. Continue reading to see what action unfolded in Week 6…

Power Rankings

1. Team Maione (Chipotle) – 7-0

Team Maione remained undefeated this season by beating Team Massel by the score of 6-3. This was Team Maione’s most competitive game of the year so far. Jared Cohen went 3-4 with a run in this game. They look to push their winning streak to 8 games next week with a match against Team Rhum.

 

2.Team Kramer (StudentCity) – 6-1 

Team Kramer beat Team Golembo 8-4 this week to push their winning streak to 5 games. John Schulte was 4-4 with 2 Runs and 1 RBI. Team Kramer looks to keep pace with Team Maione in the standings and will play Team Kaufman next week. 

 

3. Team Holzman (Chicago Trolley) – 5-2

The Defending Champs bounced back from a tough loss last week by winning not once, but twice on Sunday. They won their games against Teams Holstein and Lowenstein, with the scores of 13-2 and 6-3, respectively. Alex Parmacek was a perfect 4-4 with 2 runs on the day. Up next for them is Team Colmery.

 

4. Team Rhum (cea Study Abroad) – 5-2

Team Rhum bounced back from a loss last week by beating Team Holstein 8-3. Zack Pearlstein and Andrew Picchietti sparked the offense, combining for 7 hits, 3 runs, and 5 RBIs. Up next for Team Rhum is the undefeated Team Maione.

 

5. Team Massel (popchips) – 4-3

Team Massel was slotted agaisnt the tough opponent, Team Maione, this past week, and put up quite the fight. Matthew Sherman was a perfect 4-4 with an RBI but it was not enough to overcome the 3-run deficit. Next week they play Team Holstein and will look to get back into the W column.

 

6. Team Kaufman (Sunset Foods) – 3-3

Team Kaufman slaughtered Team Colmery 16-1 this week which is exactly what the doctor ordered. Zach Kaufman showed off his power and clutch hitting ability by going 3-4 with 3 Runs and 5 RBIs on the day. They go for another win next week against Team Kramer.

 

7. Team Holstein (Dr. Jacob D.D.S. Purple) – 4-3

Team Holstein was looking to advance up in the standings this week, but unfortunately dropped both games of their double header. Neither game was particularly close. Samuel Vaneor was the bright spot in the offense, going 3-3 with 1 Run and 1 RBI. They look to ended this two game skid next week against Team Massel.

 

8. Team Loewenstein (Dr. Jacob D.D.S. Gold) – 2-4

Team Loewenstein lost another tough game this week, dropping their game 3-6 against Team Holzman. Tyler Siegel went 3-3 with 1 RBI but it wasn’t enough to win the game. They try to end their little 2 game losing streak against the winless Team Sharrin next week.

 

Rest of the Pack (Alphabetical Order)

 

Team Colmery (Biaggi’s Black) – 1-6

Team Colmery lost another bad game this week, losing to Team Kaufman by 15 runs. Daniel McDevitt was 2-2 on the day and is now hitting .500 on the year. Up next for Team Colmery is the hot Team Holzman.

 

Team Golembo (Schweitzer Title) – 1-5

Team Golembo put up a good fight against Team Kramer this week, but ultimately ended up losing the game 4-8. Jonathon Way lead the way (pun intended) by going 2-3 with a HR and 3 RBIs. Team Golembo will have a double header next week against Teams Shapiro and Sharrin.

 

Team Shapiro (Sunset Foods) – 2-5

Team Shapiro picked up a nice win this week against Team Sharrin which ended their losing streak. Scott Ingram was 3-3 with 3 Runs and an RBI which led his team to victory. They look to ride this momentum into next week against Team Golembo.

Team Sharrin (Biaggi’s Neon) – 0-6

Team Sharrin is still winless this year, getting shut out by Team Shapiro this week by the score of 0-12. Tedd Schoenfeld got a hit in this one. They go for win #1 of the season next week and will have 2 chances to do so, with a double header against Teams Golembo and Loewenstein.
