Playoff Preview

Open. Rd.: 8. Team Shaffer (Chicago Trolley) v. 9. Team Slomka (Monstars)

Winner plays. 1. Team Aranas

These Teams met in Week 6 and we saw Team Shaffer grab their 1st Win of the Season on that night.. They have played very well to close out the Regular Season and are looking to make an extended run.. Now, Team Slomka picked up a huge W over #4 Team Wells to finish out the Regular Season so they are going to be feeling very good about themselves as well, heading into this one.. Only one Team can move on and it may come down to who has a better shooting night between Captain Ian Shaffer and Willie Sellers – the high scorers for both groups. The Winners will move on and play #1 seed Team Aranas immediately following this one in the Elite8.

Elite8: 1. Team Aranas (it doesn’t matter) v. Winner 8/9

Team Aranas closed out the Regular Season with a big W on Thursday Night to lock up the #1 seed. In doing so, they are going to be heavy favorites against whomever they play in the Elite8. They will take on the Winners of #8 Shaffer and #9 Slomka. These guys are going to look to push the pace against a tired Team and run their way into the Final4!

Elite8: 4. Team Wells (High Fiving White Guys) v. 5. Team Bernstein (Mezes)

Team Wells had a hiccup on Thursday Night during Week 7. They Lost to #9 Team Slomka. They had been playing very well before that Game and just need to forget about it. #5 Team Bernstein shot up the Standings by winning their final 2 Games and thanks to some tiebreaker luck finished with a Top-5 seed.  This Game may just be the Game of the Night on Thursday. They met back in Week 3 and Team Wells got the 15pt W, but much has changed for Team Bernstein since that one.. The Winner here moves to the Final4 and both are capable of going the distance.

Open. Rd.: 7. Team Kaplan (Dr. Jacob D.D.S.) v. 10. Team Indy (SLA Insurance)

Winner plays 2. Team Weisberg

This Game features two Teams that could easily be seeded higher and the Winner will pose a threat to #2 Team Weisberg who has had a lot of time to think about their first L of the Season. As it stands, only one of these groups can make it to the Elite8 and attempt to take Cinderella’s slipper into Championship Thursday with them. Team Indy has shown flashes and if they can come together – they have the potential to be a double digit squad in the Championship Game. Team Kaplan is going to bring it Defensively and if they hit their jumpers they can beat anyone.. This one will be fun!

Elite8: 2. Team Weisberg (The Bucket List) v. Winner 7/10

Team Weisberg has had some time to stew over their first L of the Season in Week 6 to #1 Team Aranas. They have also had a bit of time to get some R&R. They will be heavy favorites over whoever their Elite8 opponent turns out to be.. BUT, they will be playing against a talented group, so they need to play their Game to advance. These guys, even though they are not the top-seed, are the overall favorites. 3 Wins away.

Open. Rd.: 6. Team Dunlap (K’Nicks II) v. 11. Team Salkoff (GLCCB)

Winner plays 3. Team Unger

Team Dunlap really leapt up the Standings late in the Season. They won 2 of their last 3 and sprung up to the #6 spot. Team Salkoff did not have the Regular Season they had hoped for but definitely have some talent on the Roster. This Game is going to be clsoe and the Winner, if they can still move after this Game, does have a shot at knocking off #3 Team Unger. They can’t overlook each other though. First things first, they must qualify for the Elite8, before they can advance past it. Good Luck!

Elite8: 3. Team Unger (SLA Insurance) v. Winner 6/11

Team Unger has made it to 2 Championship Games in 2017. They know how to survive and advance with the best of them. They are hoping that the 3rd time will be the charm here and they can both get to the Championship and this time win it all! They will have their hands full in the Elite8 with the Winner of the #6 Dunlap v. #11 Salkoff Game, but if they play within themselves, they will get to yet another Final4!

That’s it for the Playoff Preview. Good Luck to everyone Thursday Night!
