Power Rankings

1. Team Weisberg (The Bucket List) – 1-0

Hard to ignore Team Weisberg for the #1 spot to start the year after they put up 100 points on the highly-talented Team Unger squad. This group, now led by Jared Weisberg (fka Team Lerman) had a really stellar Summer Season, earning a trip to the Final4 on Thursday Nights before bowing out to eventual Champs Team McNichols. This great group of All Sports Series veterans have unfinished business and are looking for their first Crown this Fall. Jake Lerman had 30 while Michael Pisanelli and Luke Jacobson each had 17. These guys look to make it 2-0 against Team Bernstein on Thursday Night.

2. Team Salkoff (GLCCB) – 1-0

Team Salkoff is one of the Chicago Sport & Social Teams that are making their debut in All Sports Series this Fall. In Week 1 they defeated team Slomka 55-37 behind a nice effort from Captain Ryan who had 16. Raul Hudema had 15 and Ryan Mundy had 14 points in Week 1 as well. Great 3-headed monster there. In Week 2 they will take on Team Unger who has been to Championship Games in 2017. Should be a fun one!

3. Team Aranas (it doesn’t matter) – 1-0

Captain Jeffrey Aranas leads this Chicago Sport & Social Club squad into the All Sports Series season. It is a Team of mostly Rookies to All Sports Series but Captain Jeff has played before and that experience will likely be valuable! They got a Week 1 victory over Team Wells 62-48. Eric Liang had 22. Anthony Chan had 11. In Week 2, they try to grab their second straight W against #4 Team Kaplan. That will be The Bucket List Game of the Week!

4. Team Kaplan (Dr. Jacob D.D.S.) – 1-0

Team Kaplan is full of All Sports Series vets. Captain Brett has crafted a really nice squad for this Season. They earned a Win in Week 1 against Team Shaffer 76-64. Brad Deutsch scored 22 in Week 1. There were 3 others in double figures. Captain Brett had 15, Scott Plotnik had 11 as did Jared Kopka. They will be apart of The Bucket List Game of the week when their depth will be put to the test against #3 Team Aranas.

5. Team Shaffer (Chicago Trolley) – 0-1

Team Shaffer has participated in numerous Hoops Leagues with All Sports Series. Many of these guys have claimed Championships as a part of the Team Zimmerman “All Sports” League Dynasties over the past handful of Summers. They know how to get Wins it matters most. They fell in Week 1 to a solid Team Kaplan squad but did enough to earn themselves a spot in the Rankings at #5 this Week. Captain Ian went for 22 in Week 1 and Mark Weingarten return to All Sports with a 20 point night. These guys look to get back to even-steven at 1-1 against Team Wells in Week 2.

Rest of the Pack (Alphabetical Order)

Team Bernstein (Mezes), Team Dunlap (K’Nicks II), Team Indy (SLA Insurance) – 0-0

These 3 clubs get their start in Week 2!

Team Slomka (Monstars) – 0-1

Team Slomka was participating in their very first All Sports Series contest on Thursday Night. They ran into a tough squad in Team Salkoff in Week 1 and did not come away with their desired result. It is a long season though and they showed flashes of being a really good Team. Willie Sellers had a really nice debut with 17 points on the night. They take on the debuting Team Indy on Thursday Night.

Team Unger (SLA Insurance) – 0-1

Team Unger is no stranger to All Sports Series. In fact, they have multiple trips to Championship Games in 2017. They are still searching for their first Crown however.. Week 1 was not their best showing and it is one that they’ll want to erase from memory as fast as possible. They were undermanned against #1 Team Weisberg, but still they are not a group that should lose to anyone by 30. They are too good. It is just one Game and the rust should fall off now by Week 2. They will take on #2 Team Salkoff in Week 2, after that the Schedule must get easier..

Team Wells (High Fiving White Guys) – 0-1

Remember, Alphabetical Order for the Unranked Teams.. Team Wells likely would have been #6 this Week had we gone that far in the Rankings.  They battled a really tough Team Aranas squad in their All Sports Series debut, and came up just a bit short. It was a competitive Game though and they clearly have some talent on the Roster. Nick Schneider led the scoring effort with 25 points for Captain Jonathan Wells’ crew.  These guys are going to get Wins this Season and they’ll look to start doing so in Week 2 against #5 Team Shaffer.

That’s it for Week 1. Good Luck in Week 2!
