Power Rankings

1. Team Weisberg (The Bucket List) – 5-0

Team Weisberg is off to about as good of a start as you can ask for. They are now 5-0. They are averaging just over 87 Points Per Game and are Allowing just 53. That is a 34-point margin. They are killing it. In Week 5, they defeated previous #4 Team Kaplan by 31.  Jake Lerman led the League in scoring once again – going for 35 points. Luke Jacobson had 20 as well. These guys are going to go for 6-0 against #3 Team Aranas in The Bucket List Game of the Week!

2. Team Unger (SLA Insurance) – 4-1

Their streak is up to 4 in a row now – and if you take away that Week 1 Loss to Team Weisberg – they have been pretty fantastic this Fall. They defeated Team Bernstein by almost 40 on Thursday Night. They weren’t playing around. Judd Barron had 26 and Ryan Lederman had 24. They will scoreboard watch a bit with #1 Team Weisberg and #3 Team Aranas locking horns on Thursday Night.. It will be key for their Playoff seed no matter what the outcome. They will take on #4 Team Wells who is 3-2 and sits just a Game Back of them.. Huge week in store.

3. Team Aranas (it doesn’t matter) – 4-1

Team Aranas got another quality Win on Thursday Night. Defeating Team Salkoff by 18 en route to their 4th Win in 5 Games.  Eric Liang led the way this week with 28 points. Anthony Chan was in double figures for the 5th straight Game – he had 17. Joe Chi had 15 as well. They are just so lethal on Offense from multiple spots, that is really hard to slow them down. On Thursday Night they will be in The Bucket List Game of the Week when they face off with #1 Team Weisberg.. Can’t wait!

4. Team Wells (High Fiving White Guys) – 3-2

Team Wells was so impressive on Thursday Night. With their Win they hop up into the #4 spot. They Won 72-48 against a solid Indy Team. Max Siegrist had 24 points. Nick Schneider and Collin Wolff were in double figures as well. They have a big Game upcoming this Thursday Night with #2 Team Unger. This one is huge for their playoff seeding as a Win would draw them tied with Team Unger (and they’d hold the tiebreaker).. Plus with Team Aranas playing Team Weisberg this week, some Team ahead of them has to Lose.. Big week!

5. Team Kaplan (Dr. Jacob D.D.S.) – 3-2

Rounding out the Top-5 this Week is Team Kaplan. They were the only Team in last week’s Top-5 to Lose in Week 5.. They fell to #1 Team Weisberg – nothing to be ashamed of – but they didn’t play their best. They have enough to defeat anyone in the League. Just need their A+ Game against #1. Mr. Neuberger had a dozen points to lead them in scoring. They actually will have a BYE in Week 6 – a week to get their minds right before a busy Week 7 where they will take on both Teams Bernstein and #6 Dunlap before heading into the Playoffs. They’ll be favored in both of those Games and have a real shot of entering the Playoffs at 5-2.

6. Team Dunlap (K’Nicks II) – 2-3

Team Dunlap got a 14-point Win over Team Slomka on Thursday Night to get their record to 2-3 and move up a spot to #6 in the Rankings. Eric Klaus had 26 in this one to lead the way. With 2 Games left they have aspirations of finishing the season over .500 at 4-3. They’ll need to win their last 2 to do so, but they are more than capable of doing so. They get Team Bernstein in Week 6, whom they share a 2-3 record with before finishing the season in Week 7 against #5 Team Kaplan (who will be playing in their 2nd Game of a Double Header that night).

7. Team Shaffer (Chicago Trolley) – 1-4

Up and into the Rankings for the first time this season is Team Shaffer! They finally got off the schnide on Thursday Night and can exhale. They defeated Team Indy 66-53 in what was a really well played Game by them. Captain Ian Shaffer scored 35 points which tied for the League lead in Week 5. When he is feeling it from distance, there are a few shooters who can match him. Kevin Grodnick had 15 as well. They get another 1-4 squad – Team Slomka on Thursday Night – they have a good shot of getting some momentum here in the back half of the season.

Rest of the Pack (Alphabetical Order)

Team Bernstein (Mezes) – 2-3

Team Bernstein did not have their best showing on Thursday Night. They played against #2 Team Unger and it did not go the way they’d hoped. Donald Banks had another nice performance – going for 24 points in Week 5. They just need to find some additional scoring from others and they will be just fine. They play Team Dunlap in Week 6 – a Game that will be important for Playoff seeding – as both Teams enter Week 6 with a 2-3 record.

Team Indy (SLA Insurance) – 1-4

Team Indy played 2 Games on Thursday Night. They were unable to get a Win in either of them but they continue to gather chemistry as they go.. They fought #7 Team Shaffer tough but came up short and just had too little left in the tank for their 2nd Game #4 Team Wells. Harry Clarke and Brandon Williams were in double figures during both contests. These guys have enough talent to Win Games – just need to still figure out how to use everyone’s strengths. They take on the 1-4 Team Salkoff in Week 6.

Team Salkoff (GLCCB) – 1-4

Team Salkoff took on #3 Team Aranas on Thursday Night and just came up short. These guys have enough to play with the best Teams in the League – they just couldn’t prevent Team Aranas from getting buckets in this one. Four scorers were in double figures here.. Raul Hudema, James Thomas, Captain Salkoff and Ryan Mundy (who led with 13).  Their balance is a good sign for them moving forward. They will take on Team Indy during Week 6 – who they share a 1-4 record with.

Team Slomka (Monstars) – 1-4

Team Slomka Lost in Week 5 to Team Dunlap by a score of 56-42. Willie Sellers led the way in scoring with 13 points. Captain Tim added 10 as well. These guys are solid on the Defensive end, they just need to find a few more buckets from somewhere. In Week 6, they take on #7 Team Shaffer – who also has a 1-4 record. This will be an important one for Playoff seeding!

That’s it for Week 5. Good Luck in Week 6!
