Power Rankings

1. Team Knox (Ojibwa) – 2-0

Team Knox makes the jump up from #2 to #1 this week after their second-straight W to start the season. This past Week they fought off a feisty Team Chaikin crew. Tremell Adams and Chris White both had 24 points in this one. This group normally pushes the pace and is used to being near the league lead for points per Game. Through 2 Games this season, nothing has changed. They are averaging an insane 98.5 points.  They look to make it 3 in a row and keep the #1 spot when they go toe to toe with veterans Team Shields.

2. Team Bollier (SLA Insurance) – 2-0

Making moves from #5 last week to the #2 spot this week is Team Bollier. They are competing in their first All Sports Series League this Fall and in just their second week in the League have earned a true statement W, knocking off 2x Champs Team Darcy. Tim Rusthoven had 26 in the Win. Captain Drew Bollier put up 20 as well and Chris Clark poured in 14. These guys are deep and can hurt you in multiple ways. They look to get to 3-0 next week against Team Holzman.

3. Team Tehensky (Hoop Dreams) – 2-0

First Chicago Sport & Social Club crew into the Rankings this Week is Team Tehensky at #3. This group is off to a 2-0 start thanks to their nail-biting W against Team Indy 56-54 in Week 2. These guys may be new to All Sports Series but they have been accrued a ton of success in CSSC Leagues in the past couple of years, winning two Championships. They must be watched as a threat for the rest of the Season. David Dachman and Brennan Baker both scored 15 on the night to lead their squad in scoring. Captain Michael was also in double figures in this one. They also get it done on the Defensive end of the floor. They are second in the League in Points Against through 2 Weeks. They’ll try to get to 3-0 on Tuesday Night against Team Eiting, another CSSC Team.

4. Team Shlofrock (Schweitzer Title) – 2-0

Team Shlofrock holds serve at #4 this week. They are off to a 2-0 start, following their Win over Team Shields in Week 2. Captain Jake led with 21 and Jake Lerman had 17. Guard the Jakes! They are going to have to really earn 3-0, if they can get there. They are taking on 2x Champs Team Darcy, who will be coming off of a Loss and looking for a statement…

5. Team Horwitz (The Bucket List) – 2-0

Team Horwitz got to 5-0 on Tuesday Night. Well Done.  They slipped a bit in the Rankings and only because we added 5 Teams this week (that is not normal).. So had to make room for some others.. They defeated Team Holzman in a tough Week 2 contest. Captain Jon the Wiz Horwitz had 17 to lead them in scoring. Roshan Thakker made his 2017 Fall Season debut with 14. They had 3 others in double figures as well: Drake Orser, Anthony Horton and Tommy DeGarmo. Well rounded effort here. They take on a sneaky good Team Chaikin squad in Week 3.

6. Team Darcy (Dr. Jacob D.D.S.) – 1-1

Team Darcy has won way too many Games in All Sports Series (and Championships) to let an early-season defeat get them down. What it will do is give them a bit of a wake-up to just how good the competition is for the Crown this Fall. They fell to newcomers Team Bollier 71-69 in what was a really great Game. Sam Martinez had 24 and Tom Dunlavy had 15. They certainly missed the big man Tim Dunlavy on this night. They will try to get back over. 500 in Week 3 against #4 Team Shlofrock.

7. Team Berry (Littyville Lane) – 1-1

Another CSSC Team into the Rankings here at #7.. Team Berry got a Week 2 Win to pull to an even 1-1 on the season. They defeated Team Trauernicht 49-40 on Tuesday Night. These guys have been working on the Defensive end of the floor. They are currently allowing the fewest points per Game of all 16 Teams in the League through 2 Weeks. Captain Kyle Berry led them in scoring during Week 2 with 20 points. They look to get their second straight Win against Team Indy.

8. Team Cohen (CEA Study Abroad) – 1-1

Team Cohen got their first Win over the season and man was it in impressive fashion. They gave a rude welcome to Team Eiting who was participating in their very first All Sports Series Game. Team Cohen may slide under the radar a bit because they lost in Week 1, but these guys have enough in the tank to win the whole thing this Fall. Garrett Staniec and Dave Gershenzon was in double figures in his debut for Team Cohen (he is on loan from Team Lalez of the Sunday Night League). They look to make it 2-1 on Tuesday Night against #9 Team Tucci in what could steal the show.

9. Team Tucci (Chicago Trolley) – 1-1

Team Tucci picked up their first W of the Season on Tuesday Night by a score of 76-64 over Team Kaplan. This is another group that has had a ton of success but is still searching for their first All Sports Series Crown. There are a ton of really good Teams so they may fly under the radar a bit this season.. Michael Gomez went for 28, which was the second highest total for Week 2. They look to make it 2 in a row against #8 Team Cohen in Week 3.

10. Team Trauernicht (Air Ditka)

Team Trauernicht comes in at #10 this Week as the 3rd CSSC Team in the Rankings. They are Captained by Ryan Trauernicht. They fell 49-40 to Team Berry in what was a close Game throughout. They had scoring from a few different players on the night including 8 points from both Josh Downen and Mark Johnson. This group will look to get back up and over the .500 mark in Week 3 when they have their first taste of All Sports Series competition – they will go toe to toe with the unranked Team Kaplan.

11. Team Chaikin (Biaggi’s Pink) – 1-1

Dropping from the #6 spot (again we entered some new Teams this week too) to #11 after a close Loss to #1 Team Knox, is Team Chaikin. Honestly, it was an impressive showing even in a Losing effort for these youngsters. Ben Simpson had 22 to lead them in scoring in Week 2. They have a chance to earn a real quality W when they take on #5 Team Horwitz in Week 3. Schedule should lighten up a bit moving forward as well..

Rest of the Pack (Alphabetical Order)

Team Eiting (Brick by Brick) – 0-1

Team Eiting was competing in their first All Sports Series contest on Tuesday Night. They entered as a CSSC Team and right off the bat started the season with a very strong Team Cohen squad, who was coming off a Week 1 Loss and hungry to make up for that. This group is Captained by John Eiting and got nice performances from the Stapletons – Robert and Trevor – who both had 8 points in Week 1. They will take on a fellow CSSC-club in Week 2, #3 Team Tehensky. Welcome to the League!

Team Holzman (Biaggi’s Brown) – 0-2

Team Holzman turned in a huge fight on Tuesday Night but just couldn’t get past #5 Team Horwitz, falling by a few points at the end of the Game. They had Tyler Max make his Fall season debut and he scored 35 – to lead all scorers on Tuesday Night! These guys can play and will start grabbing Wins here soon. They have a tough test with #2 Team Bollier in Week 3!

Team Indy (#3) – 0-2

Team Indy is another CSSC Team entering the All Sports Series fray this Fall. This group just met each other a couple of weeks ago and will need some time to learn to play with one another. They clearly have some talent on the roster though and they are going to start getting some Wins in no time. Luke Pastina led them in scoring with 18 points in their Game against Team Tehensky, which they came up just 2 points shy in. Peter Nelson had 11 in that one. They now look ahead to Week 3 against Team Berry!

Team Kaplan (Danley’s Garage) – 0-2

Team Kaplan has started off the season 0-2 but have had to face some tough competition. The schedule should ease up some. In Week 2 they lost to the always tough Team Tucci squad. Cameron Mitchell had 15, Sam Goldberg had 14 and Justin Kaplan had 13. They will get into the Win column soon enough. They will take part in some cross-over action on Tuesday Night as they take on CSSC’s Team Trauernicht.

Team Shields (StudentCity) – 0-2

Last but not least (Remember – Alphabetical) is Team Shields. They fought hard with #4 Team Shlofrock and actually had the lead late but Team Shlofrock closed on a double-digit run to end the Game and grab the Win. These guys will be just fine. Donny Nordmann had 16, and Co-Captains Connor Shields and Mack Watts were both in double digits as well. They look to pick up their first W of the Season in Week 3 against #1 Team Knox (that would be a statement!).

That’s it for Week 2, looking forward to another Great Night on Tuesday. Go Cubs!
