Power Rankings

1. Team Knox (Ojibwa) – 3-0

Team Knox continued to roll in Week 3. This time they scored just 111 points. They won in an absolute shoot-out against Team Shields who scored 104 on the night. Tremell Adams once again led the way with 34 points. That was good enough to lead the League in scoring on Tuesday Night and he has the 2nd highest avg. in the League currently.  Captain Andre Knox had 26 as well and Chris White had 21. These guys can really fill it up. They will be tested though in Week 4 – 2x Champs and #4 Team Darcy awaits them. That will definitely be The Bucket List Game of the Week!

2. Team Shlofrock (Schweitzer Title) – 3-0

Team Shlofrock hops into the #2 hole after getting to 3-0 on Tuesday Night. They gave 2x Champs – Team Darcy their first Loss of the Season in impressive fashion (Team Darcy was undefeated heading into Week 2, despite what the Rankings said last week – sorry for the confusion). These guys had 6 scorers with at least 8 points. That balance is the key to their success. Brandon Lathon and Jordan Silver each had 11 to help lead the charge there. Their Defense really shined on Tuesday as well. In Week 4 they compete against #6 Team Chaikin.

3. Team Tehensky (Hoop Dreams) – 3-0

Holding steady at #3 is Team Tehensky who won by a wide margin over Team Eiting on Tuesday Night. The final score was 52-20 and it felt more like even more of a blow-out than that. Leading scorer David Dachman had 13 and Peter Jennings had 11 in this Win. These guys are relentless on the Defensive end.. Allowing opponents to score a measly 33.3 points per Game. They look to make it 4-0 against Team Holzman of All Sports Series in Week 4.

4. Team Darcy (Dr. Jacob D.D.S.) – 2-1

Need to apologize to Team Darcy – last week their was an error on the score sheet that made it appear to show Team Darcy lost by two points to Team Bollier when in reality Captain Bret Darcy drained a last-second 3 to propel his Team to the Week 2 Win. So coming into Week 3, they were also 2-0 and going against Team Shlofrock. We can confirm that they did indeed fall in Week 3 though and with their 2-1 record the 2x Champs fall inline at #4 in the Rankings. Eyad Salem had 13 and Tom Dunlavy had 12 to lead their club in scoring. They just struggled to get going but need to focus immediately on their next Game.. #1 Team Knox is coming up and that will be The Bucket List Game of the Week!

5. Team Berry (Littyville Lane) – 2-1

Moving up two spots and into the Top-5 this week is Team Berry of CSSC. They earned a 58-55 W over Team Indy on Tuesday Night to get up and over the .500 mark on the season. Captain Kyle Berry had 27 points and was the true-difference maker for his club in the Win. Chapin Mower had 10 points.  They now look ahead to Week 4 where they will battle a very solid #9 Team Horwitz squad, of All Sports Series, in what will be their first “cross-over” Game. This battle of 2-1 Teams will be a great measuring stick contest for both groups.

6. Team Chaikin (Biaggi’s Pink) – 2-1

Up to #6 this Week is Team Chaikin who has really turned some heads early on in the season. They are 2-1 with their only Loss coming in a close-contested Game with Undefeated #1 Team Knox. They absolutely ran through #9 Team Horwitz in Week 3, dishing them their first L of the season, 81-51. Andy Stempel had 24 points, Ben Simpson had 17 and Randall Pulfer had 15 to form a really solid 3-headed monster on Offense. They will be pushed once again in Week 4 with the 3-0 #2 Team Shlofrock. This could end up stealing the show in Week 4.

7. Team Bollier (SLA Insurance) – 2-1

Team Bollier is down to 7th from their inflated spot at #2 a week ago. We had them as the Winners of their Week 2 contest against Team Darcy, but in reality, they lost on a heart-breaking last second shot. So last week’s Rankings were a fun hypothetical for them had they actually won it. They did bounce back this week with a Win (confirmed) over Team Holzman by 9-points.  Marcus Agee had 19 points to lead them in scoring while both Captain Drew Bollier and Cody Kitahata each scored 16.  Up next for them is a tough Team Cohen group that is sort of a sleeping-giant right now.

8. Team Tucci (Chicago Trolley) – 2-1

Team Tucci got a nice Win on Tuesday Night, their second in a row. They won 88-68 over a very good Team Cohen group. It shows just how strong Team Tucci can and will be. They had 4 guys with 18 points: Michael Gomez, Ryan Brown, Captain Alan Tucci and  Andrew Mamlic. They come at you from multiple angles. They take on a hungry Team Shields squad who is looking for their first Win of the season.

9. Team Horwitz (The Bucket List) – 2-1

Team Horwitz falls to #9 this week after suffering their first Loss of the season at the hands of #6 Team Chaikin. This was not pretty. They’ll just need to erase this one from memory. Captain Jon had 20 in Week 3 but the rest of the group just wasn’t hitting. They’ll be just fine though and focused on getting back into the Winner’s Circle. In Week 4, they take on another 2-1 squad – #5 Team Berry of CSSC.

10. Team Kaplan (Danley’s Garage) – 1-2

Into the Rankings this Week is Team Kaplan at #10. They got their first Win of the season and in nail-biting fashion. They grinded it out 45-43 against Team Trauernicht. Captain Kaplan led them in scoring with 18 points on the night in an impressive Game.. He is now up to the Top-13 in scoring on the Season. These guys look to keep the momentum going and get back to .500 with a Win over the winless Team Indy crew.

11. Team Trauernicht (Air Ditka) – 1-2

Holding the last spot in the Rankings this week is Team Trauernicht, who drops 1 spot following their tough loss to new #10 Team Kaplan by a score of 45-43 on Tuesday Night. Mark Johnson scored 17 in this one and Josh Downen had 12. This will be a tough one to get over, but they have no time to dwell on it.. Week 4 will bring forth fellow CSSC club – Team Eiting, who will be looking for their first Win.

Rest of the Pack (Alphabetical Order)

Team Cohen (CEA Study Abroad) – 1-2

Team Cohen falls out of the Rankings this week following a tough 20-pt Loss to Team Tucci. Garrett Staniec scored 20 to lead them in scoring while Kyle Daniels and Alejandro Chavez each netted 13 points. They have been fine on Offense – they just need to find a way to get stops against other top Teams. These guys are still working in some new pieces but will be just fine come Playoff time. In Week 4 they face the tough #7 Team Bollier.

Team Eiting (Brick by Brick) – 0-2

Team Eiting leaves Week 3, still searching for their first Win of the Season – yet they have only played 2 Games to everyone else’s 3. They’ll have a Double Header on the final night of the Regular Season to make up for that Game. This past week they lost a tough one to #3 Team Tehensky of CSSC. Robert Stapleton led them in scoring on Tuesday with 8 points. They get Team Trauernicht in Week 4, where they’ll try to snap their skid.

Team Holzman (Biaggi’s Brown) – 0-3

Team Holzman is still searching for Win #1 but they have turned in some nice performances against a few really touch Teams so far this season. They have faced Teams with a combined Record of 6-3 to start the season and all of them are in the current Top-9. This past week they fell by 9 points to Team Bollier. Ben Murnighan had 12 and Dan McCallum had 11 points to lead them in scoring. During Week 4 they will take on Undefeated #3 Team Tehensky of CSSC.

Team Indy (#3) – 0-3

Team Indy fell 58-55 to #5 Team Berry on Tuesday Night. It was a great effort from these guys as they are still gaining chemistry each week that they play with one another. Peter Nelson had 20 while Eric Bennett had 14 and Chris Kinnerk had a dozen points. These guys have the talent just need to put it all together for 44-minutes. They will take on #10 Team Kaplan in their first crossover Game of the Season with an All Sports Series squad.

Team Shields (StudentCity) – 0-3

Last but not least here is Team Shields. They are still trying to gain their footing this Fall. This is a group with a lot of talent and one that we are used to seeing gobble up Wins. They’ll be able to shake off the rough start, but hopefully sooner than later so they can grab hold of a decent Playoff seed. They fell in one of the highest-scoring Games we’ve ever seen in All Sports Series … 111-104 to #1 Team Knox. They were right there but couldn’t get enough stops. They will try to snap the skid against #8 Team Tucci in Week 4.

That’s it for Week 3. Good Luck to everyone in Week 4. Go Cubs!
