Power Rankings

1. Team Shlofrock (Schweitzer Title) – 4-0

Ascending to the #1 spot at 4-0 this week is Team Shlofrock. This past Tuesday Night they were able to get past Team Chaikin by a score of 68-67 in what was a really great contest. Jake Lerman led with 18, Captain Shlof had 17 and Brandon Lathon had 11 to help secure the big W. These guys are going to have an absolute battle on their hands this coming Tuesday Night as they take part in The Bucket List Game of the Week against Team Knox!

2. Team Tehensky (Hoop Dreams) – 4-0

Team Tehensky got their 4th Win on the Season last Tuesday Night as they edged out All Sports’ Team Holzman by a score of 49-48. Those close ballgames really build character among a Team and these guys just keep finding ways to Win close ones.. David Dachman was their leading scorer for the 3rd straight week, this time scoring 18. Ron Klein had 9 points as well in what was a true Defensive battle. Looking ahead to Week 5, they’ll take on fellow CSSC club – Team Trauernicht (Air Ditka).

3. Team Darcy (Dr. Jacob D.D.S.) – 3-1

Team Darcy is back into the Top-3 and deservedly so with their impressive W over former #1 Team Knox. They’ll take great pride in pushing those guys down to #4 (even just for this Week). Sam Martinez had a great bounce back week and scored 24. That was tied for 3rd highest in the League on Tuesday Night. He’s now just outside the Top-1o for PPG in the League. Donny Romero had 21 and Captain Bret Darcy scored 16. They look to Week 5’s match-up with Team Shields, who will be looking for their first W of the Season.

4. Team Knox (Ojibwa) – 3-1

Team Knox suffered their first Loss of the Season on Tuesday Night. It happens and even to great Teams such as them.. They just couldn’t score at their normal rate as Team Darcy put the clamps on them. Tremell Adams scored 24 on the night and he is averaging just under 30 points a Game.. That is the best average among Players with 2+ Games. They look to bounce back against new #1 Team Shlofrock in the Game of the Week. They are in the middle of the toughest portion of their schedule.. They’ll definitely want to come away with a Win in Week 5.

5. Team Berry (Littyville Lane) – 3-1

Team Berry maintains their spot and once again rounds out the Top-5 this week. They got what could be their best W of the season, thus far, against Team Horwitz on Tuesday Night. They won it by a bucket and it was a tight Game throughout. Captain Kyle Berry once again was over 20 points for the 3rd straight Game. Ned Mandel had a strong showing with 16 points as well. They will now look ahead to Week 5 where they will take on the winless Team Holzman.

6. Team Bollier (SLA Insurance) – 3-1

Up a spot after their Week 4 Win is Team Bollier. They defeated Team Cohen by a bucket just before the buzzer from Marcus Agee, who had 17 in the Win.  Tim Rusthoven led them in scoring with 19 points. These guys are now 3-1 through 4 Games with their only Loss coming at the hands of the 2x Champs Team Darcy – and that was at the buzzer. They are one of the elite groups playing on Tuesday Nights and they’ll take on another one of them in Week 5.. #7 Team Tucci.

7. Team Tucci (Chicago Trolley) – 3-1

Team Tucci moves up 1 spot in the Rankings this Week to #7 after their Win over Team Shields on Tuesday Night. The 18pt W was one of the few blowouts on the night. They have really found their rhythm since Week 1, winning 3 straight. Captain Alan had 26 in Week 4, which was the highest total in the entire League. Andrew Mamlic had 15. They have a big match-up with #6 Team Bollier coming up in Week 5.

8. Team Chaikin (Biaggi’s Pink) – 2-2

Team Chaikin fell by a point on Tuesday Night against new #1 Team Shlofrock. They really pushed the Undefeated Team to the brink but couldn’t pull off the upset. Their 2 Losses this season are to two Top-4 Teams. These guys are really good and flying under the radar. Ben Simpson had 20 and Captain Jonny went for 14 on the night. These guys are deep and athletic.. They are going to be a force in the second-half of the season. They take on #10 Team Kaplan in Week 5.

9. Team Horwitz (The Bucket List) – 2-2

Team Horwitz dropped a nail-bite in Week 4 to #5 Team Berry. It was a close game throughout and in the end Team Berry just made one more play to earn the victory on Tuesday Night. Anthony Horton led them in scoring with 21 on a night where they really missed much of their size down low. They will look to bounce back against Team Cohen in Week 5.

10. Team Kaplan (Danley’s Garage) – 2-2

After a rough start to the Season Team Kaplan has certainly rallied over the past couple of weeks to get back to .500 following Week 4. They defeated Team Indy 68-47. Scott Harris had 13 while Captain Justin Kaplan had 11 and Zach Aranas had 11. These guys are definitely trending upward and look to continue that against #8 Team Chaikin on Tuesday Night.

11. Team Eiting (Brick by Brick) – 1-2

Rounding out the Top-11 this Week is Team Eiting who picked up their first Win of the Season and in doing so, really leapt over a handful of Teams in the Standings. Remember, they still have a Double Header looming during the final week of the Regular Season. They won 51-50 in a great battle with Team Trauernicht during Week 4. They look to make it two in a row and get back to the .500 mark when taking on fellow CSSC squad – Team Indy in Week 5.

Rest of the Pack (Alphabetical Order)

Team Cohen (CEA Study Abroad) – 1-3

Team Cohen played well enough to Win against #6 Team Bollier on Tuesday Night but fell to a last second shot from Marcus Agee and came out on the wrong-side of the Game. Mikey Gendell shot the ball extremely well and hit a few big shots down the stretch. He scored 25. Kyle Daniels had 13 in this one as well. These guys, despite their record, are still one of the best Teams in the League when at full strength and just need a bit more time to come together. They’ll need to do so fast if they want to take down Team Horwitz in Week 5.

Team Holzman (Biaggi’s Brown) – 0-4

Team Holzman was a possession away from defeating Undefeated Team Tehensky on Tuesday Night, but came up short 49-48.  It would have been a great victory for them, but they can still use it to help swing momentum. Ben Murnighan had 17 and Mike Quattrochi scored 15. Don’t let their record fool you, they are a dangerous group and they’ll look to prove it against #5 Team Berry on Tuesday Night.

Team Indy (#3) – 0-4

Team Indy fell to Team Kaplan 68-47 during Week 4. This is a group that just needs more time to click. Plain and simple. The talent is there but they are playing against groups that have played together before and their chemistry is already well established. Peter Nelson had 16 and Justin Flynn went for 11. They look to grab their first W on Tuesday Night when taking on Team Eiting of CSSC.

Team Shields (StudentCity) – 0-4

We are not used to seeing such a slow start out of the Shields/Watts groups. It just shows how much talent is out there on Tuesday Nights. This past week, they lost to Team Tucci by 18. When Team Tucci is on, they are tough to beat.. They did have 4 guys in double figures tough.. Mack Watts had 19. Captain Shields went for 18. Josh Sterns scored 14 and Andy Levitz had 10. They will be okay, but they have another tough match-up staring them down for Week 5.. 2x Champs and #3 Team Darcy awaits.

Team Trauernicht (Air Ditka) – 1-2

Remember this part of the Rankings is in Alphabetical Order.. Team Trauernicht would have been #12 had we Ranked a 12th Team. They fell by just a point on Tuesday Night, which makes it two straight Losses by one-possession. In fact, in their 3 Losses they have lost by only 12 combined points. They are right there and just need a bit of luck on their side to turn it around. Mark Johnson had his biggest week yet – scoring 22 on the night. Josh Downen had 12 as well. They look to get back on track against CSSC’s Undefeated Team – #2 Team Tehensky.

That’s it for Week 4. Good Luck to everyone in Week 5!
