Just two weeks remain in the Regular Season and as we exit Week 5, Team Shlofrock is the only squad in the League left standing with a big-fat zero in the Loss-Column. The race for Playoff Seeds is in full force and we have a very packed race just below Team Shlofrock on the All Sports Series side. Meanwhile, Teams Berry and Tehensky are tied at 4-1 on the CSSC side. These last two weeks are going to be huge!

Power Rankings

1. Team Shlofrock (Schweitzer Title) – 5-0

Team Shlofrock did what they do on Tuesday Nights… Win another Game. They defeated previous #4 Team Knox by 20+ in what might be their most impressive showing to date. The Jakes were at it again on Tuesday.. Captain Shlofrock had 23 to lead his crew and Jake Lerman had 20. They had 3 others in double figures as well: Chad Silver, Brandon Lathon and Adam Rhum.  They take on a tough Team Bollier in Week 6.

2. Team Darcy (Dr. Jacob D.D.S.) – 4-1

Back up to #2 is Team Darcy following their Week 5 W over Team Shields. Dan Turner led the way with 17 and Tom Dunlavy had 16. Two more guys were in double digits – Tom’s brother Tim Dunlavy and Eyad Salem. When they get this type of balance on the Offensive end they are just not going to Lose. Week 6 brings forth a sneaky good group in #7 Team Chaikin, who sits just a Game Back of Team Darcy in the Standings.

3. Team Berry (Littyville Lane) – 4-1

All the way up to #3 this Week is Team Berry. They are now Winners of 4 in a row following their dub against Team Holzman by a score of 58-43 last Tuesday Night.  They are really getting it done on the Defensive end. They are now second in the League in Points Against. Ned Mandel had a great week for the second consecutive time – leading them in scoring with 18. Captain Kyle had 16 and Chapin Mower had 15.  They look to make it 5 straight Wins when they take on Team Eiting during Week 6.

4. Team Tucci (Chicago Trolley) – 4-1

Team Tucci is rolling. They have won 4 in a row. Most recently they got a 105-71 W over a Team Bollier squad that had looked great each and every week before their Game. It may end up being their signature W of the Season. Michael Gomez had 29 to lead all scorers. Ryan Brown was just behind him with 25 and Captain Tucci went for 22. When you can get 75+ from your 3 leading scorers, you are going to Win.  They will take on Rivals Team Horwitz in Week 6, where they try to earn their fifth straight Win.

5. Team Tehensky (Hoop Dreams) – 4-1

Team Tehensky falls a few spots in the Rankings following their first Loss of the Season in Week 5.  They just couldn’t get enough shots to stay down and fell behind #9 Team Trauernicht – and couldn’t catch up. Good Teams come back from Losses quickly and these guys are a good Team, so expect them to get right back in to the Win column here soon. Usual leading scorer – David Dachman – had 15 and Ryan Walker scored 11 for them. They look to get to 5-1 in Week 6 against Team Kaplan.

6. Team Knox (Ojibwa) – 3-2

Team Knox drops down to #6 in the Rankings this week as they fell by 21 to #1 Team Shlofrock. These guys have the ability to be the best Team in the League – just need to consistently have their full compliment of Players. Chris White had 32 points in this one and he was the 2nd Leading Scorer in the entire League on Tuesday Night. Captain Andre Knox had 14 as well. They look to get back to the Winner’s Circle in Week 6 when they take on #10 Team Cohen in a sneaky pick to steal the show on Tuesday Night.

7. Team Chaikin (Biaggi’s Pink) – 3-2

Team Chaikin got a really nice Win on Tuesday Night and climb up to #7 in the Rankings as a result. These guys got an 18pt Win over a feisty Team Kaplan crew. Ben Simpson led again with 15. Adam LaVitola had 13 and Andy Stempel had 12. They were great on D – holding Team Kaplan under 45 points. They aim for 4-2 in Week 6 against #2 Team Darcy in what will be The Bucket List Game of the Week. These guys have the ability to knock them off and that would be a true signature Win ahead of the Playoffs.

8. Team Bollier (SLA Insurance) – 3-2

Team Bollier had an off-week on Tuesday Night and fell a couple spots in the Rankings as a result. They lost by quite a few points to Team Tucci – and it was the first time we saw them in that type of Game. They will bounce back as they are super talented. It was more on the Defensive end as they couldn’t hold Team Tucci below 100. Both Captain Drew and Cody Kitahata had 23 points a piece and Marcus Agee had 17 to shoulder a bulk of the scoring. They will be staring down a couple Losses in a row if they can’t find a way to do something that no Team has accomplished yet this Season.. They have a date with #1 Team Shlofrock in Week 6. This one should be great.

9. Team Trauernicht (Air Ditka) – 2-3

Team Trauernicht got a really big Win on Tuesday Night. They took down previously Undefeated (and former #2) #5 Team Tehensky and jumped up into the Rankings at #9 following the Win. They were swarming on Defense and held Tehensky and co. to 48 points – earning the 15 point W. Josh Downen had his best Week of the Season – with 21 points. Josh French exploded into double figures for the first time and scored 16 points. Mark Johnson added 13. These guys just played very well on Tuesday Night and showed they could beat the best.. They will try to get back to the .500 mark during Week 6 when they take on Team Holzman.

10. Team Cohen (CEA Study Abroad) – 2-3

Team Cohen got off the schnide on Tuesday Night after their Win over Rivals Team Horwitz 84-75. Kyle Daniels had 23 points. Derek Leeney added 16 and Garrett Staniec had 10. When these guys get a few more Games together they are going to be quite dangerous. They saw the debut of Benny Lalez (of the Team Lalez dynasty) and that surely didnt hurt them. They will be looking to get back to .500 on Tuesday Night against #6 Team Knox – this could be a real up and down affair with tons of points.

11. Team Indy (#3) – 1-4

Into the Rankings for the first time is Team Indy who broke through and got their first Win of the Season on Tuesday Night! They earned the Win by a score of 72-48 over Team Eiting.  Luke Pastina went off – scoring 33 points which was the highest total in the entire League on Tuesday Night. Melvin Ayers and Peter Nelson were both in double digits as well. These guys may have finally turned the corner and still have time to gather some more Wins… Week 6 brings a Game against the winless Team Shields.

Rest of the Pack (Alphabetical Order)

Team Eiting (Brick by Brick) – 1-3

A week after claiming their first Win of the Season, Team Eiting fell back a bit in Week 5, dropping their Game to Team Indy. Zachary Bianchini and Trevor Stapleton each scored 10 points to co-lead their squad. They just need to shake off the last one – they have #3 Team Berry in Week 6 before a Double Header in Week 7 against Teams Holzman and Team Kaplan to close out the year.

Team Holzman (Biaggi’s Brown) – 0-5

Team Holzman fell to #3 Team Berry on Tuesday Night but kept it competitive with one of the League’s best for the most part. These guys are going to get a Win here soon. Hanson Perry and Sam Ofman both scored 8 points on the night.  They are still searching for Win #1 as we enter Week 6, when they take on Team Trauernicht.

Team Horwitz (The Bucket List) – 2-3

Falling out of the Rankings this week is Team Horwitz who has dropped their 3rd straight Game after their 2-0 start to the Season. In Week 5, they Lost to Rivals Team Cohen by 9. Brad Tivin was impressive again, leading them in scoring with 24 points. Roshan Thakker added 18. They just need to get one Win and they’ll be able to feel better before the Playoffs. We have seen these guys win a TON of Games in 2017, they’ll be just fine. Week 6 lines them up against #4 Team Tucci. This one should be a really good Game.

Team Kaplan (Danley’s Garage) – 2-3

Team Kaplan dropped their Week 5 Game against Team Chaikin. They have enough to compete with them but just didn’t play their best in this one. Scotty Harris led them with 10 in this one. These guys were coming off of 2 straight Wins and shouldn’t let this Loss shake their confidence. In Week 6, they are going to go toe to toe with #5 Team Tehensky. They have enough to Win but need their best to do so.

Team Shields (StudentCity) – 0-5

Team Shields is not used to seeing this type of record.  The good part for them is that they are capable of much more and everyone is going to make the Playoffs.. Captain Connor scored 17 to lead them in scoring. Josh Sterns had a dozen. They have to just forget the first 5 weeks and try to finish strong. They take on Team Indy #3 – who got their first Win of the Season last week – this is a very winnable Game for them.

That’s it for Week 5. Good Luck to everyone in Week 6!
