Power Rankings

1. Team Robinson (SLA Insurance) – 1-0

The Defending Champs picked up right where they left off last Spring. They defeated Team Holzman in Week 1 in what was a well-played Game. Captain Ted Robinson scored 2 Goals in the Season opener and was helped in a large way by Jeff Sampson who had 3 Goals. Much of their Championship Roster is back from a year ago and they are on a quest to become the first Team to ever go Back2Back in the Chicago Floor Hockey League. Team Bayer is up next for them.

2. Team Harris (cea Study Abroad) – 1-0

Team Harris, led by Captain Adam once again, got off to a great start for the 3rd season in a row.. They welcomed Rookie squad Team Snyder to the League with a 10-Goal Victory.. Graham Conatser had 5 points including a hat trick. Jake Miller had 4 points with 2 Goals in there. Team Harris is not one to get too excited about Regular Season success. They have one Goal this year and it is to finally grab the Crown. They have gotten heartbreakingly close for two straight seasons.. Is the third time the charm?  They get #5 Team Iversen in Week 2.

3. Team Widen (Dr. Jacob D.D.S. Gold) – 1-0

Back for another run is Team Widen (last year’s Team Kandleman) led by Jason Widen once again (as they were in 2015). This is a group that has gotten so close to the Championship Game in past seasons but haven’t quite broken through just yet. Steve Prioletti had a hat trick and they got Goals from Captain Jason, Brother Ari and friends Derek and Matthew Lee in their 7 Goal outburst to start the season. They needed everyone as Team Iversen kept it close late. Team Widen looks to get to 2-0 against 2015 Champs Team Kowalczyk in what will be the Game of the Week!

4. Team Holzman (StudentCity Gray) – 0-1

Team Holzman has some new blood on the Team as members of last year’s Team Weisel has joined them in an attempt to finally get over the hump and into the Championship Game. They met Defending Champs Team Robinson in Week 1 and they stayed close to them for most of the Game. They will need a bit of time to come together but they have a lot of talent. Michael Block, EJ Silver and Captain Andrew Holzman all lit the lamp in Week 1. They look to get back to .500 against Team Snyder on Sunday afternoon.

5. Team Iversen (Dr. Jacob D.D.S.) – 0-1

There are no moral victories out here but Team Iversen has to feel good about their first Game on Sunday. They went toe to toe with one of the better Teams historically in the League. Captain and Goalie Jeff Iversen has helped revamp the Roster and they are looking to have a much more successful season than last year. Antonio Bonifazi debuted in All Sports Series with 2 Goals. Not a bad start! They look to make a statement and pull a stunner over #2 Team Harris on Sunday.

Rest of the Pack (Alphabetical Order)

Team Bayer (StudentCity Neon) – 0-0

Team Kowalczyk (Chipotle) – 0-0

Team Snyder (Spikeball) – 0-1

Team Snyder debuted on Sunday with one of the harder assignments in the League.. Team Harris in Week 1 is a brutal draw but they were able to shake-off the cobwebs and will move forward feeling better. They are led by Captain Kevin Snyder with many of these guys hailing from New Trier HS. Jonathan Britva scored twice in Week 1 to lead his crew. They draw Team Holzman in Week 2 and will look to get back to .500 then.

That’s it for Week 1, see everyone on Sunday for Week 2!
