Updated: April 6, 2017

We were back at it for Week 2 on Sunday afternoon where we saw some great performances including one from past Champs Team Kowalczyk who made their 2017 debut. While the Top-2 Teams remain the same this week — Team Robinson and Team Harris — we did see some shaking up in the rest of the Top-5. Oh, and those Top-2.. Well, they will clash in Week 3 where only one can remain unbeaten in a Rematch fromt the 2016 Championship! More on that below!

Power Rankings

1. Team Robinson (SLA Insurance) – 2-0

The Defending Champs picked up what will be their easiest W of the Season. Brad M Jorgensen and Nick Andriacchi both had 3 Goals in the Win. They will try to get to 3-0 against #2 Team Harris in what is not only the Game of the Week but a Rematch of last season’s epic Championship set.

2. Team Harris (cea Study Abroad) – 2-0

As mentioned just above.. Team Harris will tango with #1 Team Robinson in Week 3 with both Teams trying to not only get to 3-0 but try to get the inside track on that coveted 1 seed come Playoff time.  This past Sunday, Team Harris got their second Win in as many weeks with a W over Team Iversen. Adam Harris had 4 Goals and Jason Shape had 3 to combine for 1 of the 2 Touchdowns (and extra points) that Team Harris scored on Sunday. Cannot wait for their Week 3 clash!

3. Team Kowalczyk (Chipotle) – 1-0

Team Kowalczyk, the 2015 Floor Hockey Champs, got their first taste of action in 2017 this past Sunday as they got a nice W over the feisty #5 Team Widen. They won 8-3 and really dominated possession as we often see them do. They have placed Spencer Hadelman in net this Season and he looked really good from the opening face-off as he made some really nice saves out there. In perfect synergy, each of the 3 Kowalczyk Bros. — Dan, Matt and Mike — all had 2 Goals a piece to start the season. Mike led the League in Goals a year ago. If they can get by #4 Team Holzman, which would be a Game of the Week in most cases, then they will be in-line to move up to #2 — jumping the Loser of the Robinson/Harris Game this weekend.

4. Team Holzman (StudentCity Gray) – 1-1

Pictured above after grabbing their first W of the Season is Team Holzman. They hold serve at #4 as a result. Matt Pedemonti made his 2017 debut for Team Holzman and had Four Goals to tie for the League Lead in Week 2. He instantly makes Team Holzman a title contender when he is in attendance.  Shimmy Gross has been a bright-spot between the pipes for them as well. They have a chance to put the whole League on notice and get a true signature Win in Week 3 when they take on #3 Team Kowalczyk.

5. Team Widen (Dr. Jacob D.D.S. Gold) – 1-1

Rounding out the Top-5 is Team Widen.  They drop down a couple spot this Week following their Loss to Team Kowalczyk, which is nothing to get down about.. Those guys are impressive week in and week out. Team Widen hung in there though and while the score may not indicate it, they were really in the Game for the most part. Steve Prioletti, Derek Marks and Captain Jason all lit the lamp on Sunday. They look ahead to Week 3 where they take on Team Snyder who will be searching for their first W in Franchise history on Sunday.

Rest of the Pack (Alphabetical Order)

Team Bayer (StudentCity Neon) – 0-1

Team Iversen (Dr. Jacob D.D.S.) – 0-2

Team Iversen took on one of the elite squads on Sunday in Team Harris. They didn’t come out on top and the score didn’t look so great but they have the foundation for a strong Team moving forward. It may take some time but this group can ascend up the Ranks in the next few weeks. Antonio Bonifazi scored twice again and that brings his season total to 4.  They take on Team Bayer on Sunday.

Team Snyder (Spikeball) – 0-2

Team Snyder left Week 2 without a Win but saw a bunch of improvement from Week 1 to Week 2. Jonathan Britva had a hat trick on Sunday and that brings his season total to 5 Goals. He is actually tied for the League-Lead currently with Captain Adam Harris.  They have some true building blocks here and once they get more acclimated to the Game, they are going to be very difficult to beat. They will take on Team Widen in Week 3, this could be the Week for the first W in their Team’s history.

That’s it for Week 2. Have a nice week and see you on Sunday!
