Power Rankings

1. Team Harris (cea Study Abroad) – 3-0

Team Harris got what will be their biggest Win of the Regular Season on Sunday afternoon. They were able to get some Redemption over Team Robinson in a Rematch of last year’s Championship. These guys seem determined to finally get to the Crown and complete this 3year journey to it. Jason Shape tallied 4 Goals and 3 Assists in an incredible performance and Captain Adam had a pair of goals and helpers to get along with it. Jeremy Posner has been an absolute stud in net and it really allows them to be more aggressive everywhere. They take on new #2 Team Holzman in the Game of the Week on April 23!

2. Team Holzman (StudentCity Gray) – 2-1

Like Team Harris, new #2 Team Holzman might have gotten what will end up being their biggest W of the Regular Season this past Sunday when they defeated 2015 Champs Team Kowalczyk. Team Holzman has seemingly turned the corner and entered the elite tier on Sundays. Matt Pedemonti and Ryan Lefebvre each had a couple of Goals and an assist. Taylor Feldman accounted for 3 points as well. Shimmy Gross has been a big difference in net as he routinely makes a goal-saving save week after week. They will be able to put the whole league on blast if they can earn a W against #1 Team Harris on April 23.

3. Team Robinson (SLA Insurance) – 2-1

Taking a slide down the Rankings this Week is Defending Champs Team Robinson. They fell in the Championship Rematch to Team Harris. It was not their best performance but this is not a group that needs the #1 seed to wind up going Back2Back. As long as they save their best hockey for a couple months from now, all will be okay. Captain Ted got his 3rd Goal of the season on Sunday. They look to rebound against the improving Team Snyder in Week 4.

4. Team Kowalczyk (Chipotle) – 1-1

Falling out a spot in the Rankings this Week is Team Kowalczyk who took their first L this Season at the hands of the much-improved Team Holzman. They were without Captain and leading point-man Michael Kowalczyk in this one and that certainly hurt them. It was a very well-played Game however and they will look forward to a potential Rematch come Playoff time. In Mike’s absence, Brother Matthew Kowalczyk stepped up and lit the lamp 4 times on Sunday. They will try to get to 2-1 on April 23 against Team Iversen.

5. Team Snyder (Spikeball) – 1-2

Rounding out the Top-5 and into the Rankings for the first time this Season is Team Snyder. They picked up their first W in Franchise history on Sunday and against a group in Team Widen that has made the Semis in each of the past two seasons. We have been touting their talent for a couple of weeks now and it seems as if they are starting to get the hang of things.. Ryan Krusko had a hat trick and Jon Britva had 2 goals as well in what was a high-scoring affair. If they can get a Win on April 23 against Defending Champs Team Robinson, they will have the attention of the entire League..

Rest of the Pack (Alphabetical Order)

Team Bayer (StudentCity Neon) – 1-1

After some Roster re-shuffling Team Bayer took the court for the first time with some new pieces on Sunday afternoon. It’s not often a group that hasn’t played together can come out and notch a Win but that is exactly what they did! All Sports Series vet Joey Sanchez had a couple of Goals and Alex Reiss scored in his debut.  These guys have a ton of promise and are going to sneak up on some people this season. They take on Team Widen when we return on April 23.

Team Iversen (Dr. Jacob D.D.S.) – 0-3

Team Iversen keeps closing the gap and are due for a Win at any moment now. Their level of play keeps improving and you can expect them to pick up a W before April closes. Antonio Bonifazi added 3 more goals over the weekend and now has a total of 7 to lead this Team. He is a true scorer out there. They look to get their first W of the Season on April 23 against 2015 Champs Team Kowalczyk.

Team Widen (Dr. Jacob D.D.S. Gold) – 1-2

Last but not least (remember, it’s alphabetical), is Team Widen. They fell to Team Snyder on Sunday afternoon by a mere Goal and fell out of the Rankings as a result. It was a high scoring affair. Matthew Lee had 4 goals and Steve Prioletti had 3 of his own. They just need to tighten up a bit on Defense and they will be just fine. They will return from the holiday break and play Team Bayer on April 23.

That’s it for Week 3. See you back on April 23!
