On Sunday afternoon we crossed the half-way point of the Regular Season.. Team Harris made it to 4-0 in a tight battle over Team Holzman in what lived up to the Game of the Week billing.. We see some shake-up in the Rankings below them this Week. We also can announce that we will be moving back to our normal court starting in Week 5. Head to the back of the building from now on!

Power Rankings

1. Team Harris (cea Study Abroad) – 4-0

Team Harris was without many of their Regulars on Sunday but still managed to come away with their 4th Win in as many tries on Sunday afternoon. David Weisman stepped up for his absent teammates and provided a hat trick. Graham Conatser added a couple of Goals as well in this one. They now will look to make it 5 straight to start the season against upstart Team Bayer.. If Team Harris is suffering a NOLA-style (congrats Jake!) hangover on Sunday, don’t be shocked if Team Bayer pulls the upset.

2.  Team Robinson (SLA Insurance) – 3-1

Team Robinson hops back up in to the #2 spot this week following their 5-3 W over Team Snyder on Sunday afternoon. It was a well-played Game and it saw both Teams really go all out for 42 minutes. Brian Littleton was excellent in this one, holding Team Snyder to few second-chances. They also got Goals from 5 different Players on Sunday – really showcased their depth. Not often we see 5 Goals from 5 people.. They take on the improving Team Iversen in Week 5.

3. Team Holzman (StudentCity Gray) – 2-2

They fall back a spot, but just a spot, after going the distance toe to toe with #1 Team Harris. They came up a goal short but they showed once again that they are not going anywhere and contend with anyone and everyone this Season. They could be the dark-horse candidate to take the whole thing. Tyler Edwards scored twice while Greg Holland had a Goal and an Assist. Week 5 lines them up against past Playoff opponent Team Widen in what should be a very good Game!

4. Team Kowalczyk (Chipotle) – 2-1

Team Kowalczyk got back to their Winning ways on Sunday afternoon. They fell to Team Holzman in Week 3 but didn’t get down for long. They had a change up in net this Sunday as Kevin Economos filled in admirably for Spencer Hadelman.  Dan Kowalczyk had 3 Goals to tie his brother Matt for the Team lead with 6.. Remember Captain and their other Brother – Mike – led the League in scoring a year ago.. These guys are relentless around the net. Evan Vondrasek had 3 goals in the Win over Team Iversen as well. They will face Team Snyder in should be a great Game in Week 5.

5. Team Bayer (StudentCity Neon) – 2-1

Jumping into the Rankings for the first time this Season is Team Bayer. They earned their second straight W this past Sunday and it was even more impressive than the week prior. In Week 4, they defeated Team Widen thanks in large part to a very strong Offensive output. Get used to the name Nick Oliver who had FIVE Goals on the day and wouldn’t allow Team Bayer to give up the lead. Alex Reiss also had a hat trick. These guys can play and are only going to get better. They will take on #1 Team Harris in Week 5.. Could be huge opportunity to make an absolute statement.

Rest of the Pack (Alphabetical Order)

Team Iversen (Dr. Jacob D.D.S.) – 0-4

While they didn’t get the W against Team Kolwaczyk (most don’t) they are improving. Last season, they played them and the score was much more lopsided. This Team has wins in it. Antonio Bonifazi lit the lamp for the 8th time this season and Mike DiMaso got his first Goal of the Season. They will take on Defending Champs Team Robinson in Week 5!

Team Snyder (Spikeball) – 1-3

Team Snyder gave the Defending Champs Team Robinson all they could handle on Sunday. Their Game came down to the wire and while they didn’t come up with the Win, they are continuing to string together strong performances week after week. They have had a brutal start to the schedule and will see an improved record in the second-half of the season. Jonathan Britva had 2 Goals on Sunday and that ups his total to 9 on the season. They get #4 Team Kowalczyk in Week 5.

Team Widen (Dr. Jacob D.D.S. Gold) – 1-3

Team Widen took on #5 Team Bayer on Sunday in what was the highest-scoring Game of the Season. It seemed like there was a Goal in just about every minute of this one. They ended up falling 10-8.. Matthew Lee scored FOUR times on Sunday though. They were without several core pieces including the Brothers Widen.. They are off in Europe currently.. We have to take this time and give a big Congratulations to Captain Jason Widen who got engaged while on the trip last weekend. Awesome stuff! #3 Team Holzman awaits on Sunday.

That’s it for this Week. See everyone on Sunday!
