Updated: July 1, 2017

Week 3 brought forth Flag Football for the Chicago Men’s “All Sports” League and we had a host of great performances. When all the dust settled from Monday Night we still had 3 Teams unbeaten.. Defending Champs Team Zimmerman, 2x Champs Team Dorfman and Team Kornblatt are all still perfect. They will remain in the Top-3 as we head into the July 4 break. We will resume play on July 10 with Week 4 Hoops!

Power Rankings

1. Team Zimmerman (Sunset Foods) – In 3rd with 53 points

The Defending Champs retained the right to be the #1 spot after a Week 3 blowout of Team Apuli on the football field. En route to 45 points, Jon Nickow scored 5 TD’s to lead his team to victory. They trail the other Undefeated Teams by 5 points in the Standings but only because they won hockey and the others won Softball. This team looks to continue to impress in two weeks after the 4th of July break against Team Hubner in Hoops.

2. Team Dorfman (Hakimian Imports) – Tied for 1st with 58 points

Not much shake up in the Power Rankings this Week, as the favorites in each Football Game seemed to Win. Team Dorfman was one of those favorites, by shutting out Team Roberson 15-0. Off-season acquisition and formal Rival QB Andy Cohen found the end zone twice and that was all the team needed as they played lockdown D. Next up for them is Team Lehrman in two weeks in Hoops.

3. Team Kornblatt (RightFit Personal Training) – Tied for 1st with 58 points

Team Kornblatt will stay at the #3 spot as they squeaked out a victory on the football field, narrowly beating Team Stone 24-21. New QB Josh Gilbert took part in all 4 of his team’s Touchdowns. He was excellent with his legs. They look to stay Undefeated on July 10th against Team Roberson in Hoops.

4. Team Lehrman (The Bucket List) – Tied for 4th with 20 points

After an impressive Win on the Football Field against Team Hubner, Team Lehrman finds themselves at in the #4 spot for the first time this Season. Captain Ross Lehrman accounted for 5 touchdowns as Team Hubner couldn’t stop their offensive onslaught. They hope to pick up another win after the July 4th break in hoops against #2 Team Dorfman.

5. Team Roberson (Live Clean CHI) – Tied for 4th with 20 points

Rounding out the Top-5 is Team Roberson. They suffered their first loss of the year this week, dropping their football game to Team Dorfman by the score of 15-0. Rough week for them, but they look to get back into the winning column in 2 weeks against Team Kornblatt and then Team Stone in a Hoops double header. Lots of opportunity for points!

Rest of the Pack (Alphabetical Order)

Team Apuli (Rockin’ Refuel) – Tied for 6th with 0 points

Team Apuli has yet to earn a victory this year as they lost this football game to the #1 seed Team Zimmerman. Alex Dorn and Michael Matasar connected for their only score of the game. This group has been known to make 2nd Half runs and there is still a ton of season left to be played.. They play Team Stone in Hoops in two weeks.

Team Hubner (Biaggi’s) – Tied for 6th with 0 points

This Rookie Team is still searching for their first Win of the year, and it did not come on the football field this week. They plaeyed well and Danny Stiefel scored 3 times, but it wasn’t enough as they Lost Team Lehrman by 19 points. They go for their first victory of the year on July 10th against Defending Champs and #1 Team Zimmerman in Hoops.

Team Stone (Chipotle) – Tied for 6th with 0 points

Team Stone lost a heartbreaker to Team Kornblatt this week in football by a mere 3 points. They have played two top Teams extremely close to open the Season. Nathan Lowmiller and Anthony Rosalez both accounted for 2 touchdowns but it wasn’t enough to bring home a W. They will have a hoops double header after the 4th of July break against Teams Apuli and Roberson. They can really gain ground in the Standings then.
Have a great holiday!
