1. Team Guggenheim (Chipotle) – 2-0
Hopping into the #1 spot is Team Guggenheim. A place that they sat for much of last season in the Fall Flag Football League. Their Defense was once again lights-out as they had a full compliment at their disposal.. They saw the 2017 debut of the Oscar Twins.. They along with Andrew Sledd and the Bones pose one of the more formidable Defensive units we have seen in some time.. Especially when factoring in the pressure these guys get on the QB.. They got a 13-0 Win over the normally potent Team Apuli Offense in a Win these guys will be pumped about for some time. Jeff Nault hit Andrew Sledd for a key score in this one too. In Week 3 they will go head to head with the winless Team Massel.
2. Team Holway (Biaggi’s) – 2-0
Team Holway jumps up into the #2 spot this Week after defeating Defending Champs Team Jiminez 13-6 on Tuesday Night. Captain and QB Brad Holway still has the League lead in TDs exiting this week.. He hit both Max Shulruff and Zach Warren for scores on this night. Their Defense was also great in this one. These guys may have more speed than any other Team in the League.. Obviously that is important. They’ll get Team Roberson in Week 3.
3. Team Apuli (StudentCity) – 1-1
Falling back to #3 this Week is Team Apuli following their Loss to Team Guggenheim in Week 2. They just couldn’t get it going on Offense. Many of them are likely still feeling the effects of a NOLA trip this past weekend and it may have resulted in them being just a touch off.. These guys are vets and usually follow up a Loss with a strong showing. We expect nothing less this coming Tuesday when they have a Rematch from last season’s Final4 (that ended in controversy) — they take on Defending Champs Team Jiminez.
4. Team Jiminez (cea Study Abroad) – 0-2
Falling from #1 to #4 this week are the Defending Champs Team Jiminez. They dropped one to Team Holway on Tuesday Night. They have lost to the top-2 Teams in the Rankings to start the Season. No reason to panic.. Especially when you factor in their slowish start last season before going on a tear before winning the whole thing.. Their Offense is just a bit out of sync right now and you can expect that to change in the coming weeks. They look to rebound against formidable foe #3 Team Apuli in Week 3.
Rest of the Pack (Alphabetical Order)
Team Massel (Schweitzer Title) – 0-2
Team Massel took part in the most exciting Game of the Week against Team Roberson on Tuesday Night. They were down 2 scores early in this one but battled back in what became an absolute shoot-out in the second half. They wound up falling 44-40 in the final plays of the Game but it was a turning point for them as they figured it all out on Offense. They lost Captain Landon Massel early in this one and will hopefully see him return soon. Jordan Schwartz had a huge day and connected with both Alex Parmacek and Jack Mullen for several impressive receptions. Many TDs to go around here obviously. They look to make a statement by knocking off #1 Team Guggenheim in Week 3.
Team Roberson (Dr. Jacob D.D.S.) – 1-1
Team Roberson got a big-time W on Tuesday Night.. First in Franchise history. They had a big lead early but it withered away as they went back and forth trading TDs with Team Massel in the second half of their thriller. They wound up Winning 44-40 in what could be the most-fun Regular Season Game we’ll see all season. Ryan Lederman hauled in a couple of TDs here. These guys can play and will turn heads in the coming weeks. They take on Team Holway in Week 3!
That’s it for Week 2, see everyone next Tuesday Night!
