Power Rankings

1. Team Wellek (Spikeball) – 2-0

Once again, #1 Team Wellek has proven they are the Team to beat. Scoring six runs in the first three innings, the bats were firing on all cylinders. Zach Nankin, an All Sports Series veteran, went 2-3 with one RBI keeping him at the top as one the League’s best hitters. Captain Nate Wellek had an exceptional game on both ends as he went 2-4 batting as well as making web gems on the mound. Team Wellek won Week 2, 6-2. Their next battle is Sunday July 9th where they have a Double Header against Team Balkan and Team Marras. Let’s see if they can stay undefeated!

2. Team Pulfer (StudentCity) – 2-0

Everything was working for Team Pulfer on Sunday. The bats were cooking for players, Alec Greenberg who went 3-3 with 3 RBIs, 1 HR, and 2 runs scored as well as Captain Randall Pulfer, who went 2-3 with 2 RBIs, 1 HR, and 2 runs scored. Team Pulfer showed the League that they are top dogs and they are coming for the Crown. They will face Team Marras and Team Balkan for a Double Header on July 9th.

3. Team Valvassori (Sarkis Cafe) – 2-0

Team Valvassori, a squad full of All Sports Series vets, had another dominant performance in Week 2 with all Players contributing. Dillon Rudy, Kevin Douaire, and Skyler Norris all had RBIs giving Team Valvassori a three-run lead at the beginning of the Game. Matt Blanchard had a day with 2-3 batting, 1 run scored, and making some SC Top-10 plays in the field (SC for StudentCity not SportsCenter). Team Valvassori moves to 2-0 as they enter a Double Header against Team Mordini and Team Herz.

4. Team Beltrano (Dr. Jacob D.D.S.) – 2-0

After coming off their 6-4 Win in Week 1, Team Beltrano was on a mission to Win once again. Team Beltrano’s Offense was clicking with ease with all player’s getting hits and almost everyone with an RBI. Nick Cox made the highlight reel going 2-4, 2 RBIs, and 1 HR bomb. Jason McMahon had a spectacular day as well going 3-3, 1 RBI, and 2 runs scored. Team Beltrano Won in Week 2, 8-6. We are all looking forward to seeing how their Week 3 Double Header against Team Herz and Team Mordini plays out!

5. Team Marras (ALX Salon) – 0-2

With a tough defeat from Week 1, Team Marras looked to get their first All Sports Series Win. Elliot Fisher and Ben Geren had strong performances with Fisher batting 3-3, 1 RBI, and 1 scored. Geren also putting up numbers going 2-3, 1 RBI, and 1 scored as well. Battling throughout the whole game and scoring 6 runs, Team Marras unfortunately came up a bit short 6-8. They will have two opportunities to get their first W on Sunday July 9.

Rest of the Pack (Alphabetical Order)

Team Balkan (Dr. Jacob D.D.S.) – 0-2

Captain Alex Balkan and Jacob Melnick both showed out this week, each batting 3-3 with Balkan putting up an RBI to bat in Melnick. Team Balkan had the tough challenge of facing Team Valvassori and after putting up a strong fight, the bats of Team Valvassori were too strong, leading to an unfortunate loss of 5-2 for Balkan. Team Balkan looks to bounce back in Week 3 where they will have a Double Header against two of the league’s best teams, Team Wellek and Team Pulfer. If they can steal a Win then, it could really turn the tides…

Team Herz (CEA Study Abroad) – 0-2

Team Herz is having a rough go at it to start the season. Maxx Kossof tried to give his team a boost going 1-1 with a run scored as well as Nolan Hara who had an RBI. With a couple adjustments, we’re confident that Team Herz will be back on their feet and get the bats working to pick up their first win in Week 3 where they have a double header against Team Beltrano and Team Valvassori.

Team Mordini (NKFI) – 0-2

Team Mordini was put up against one of the league’s powerhouses, Team Wellek. While they were off to a slow start, a key momentum change happened in the bottom of the 5th inning where Hallvard Lundevall crushed a 2 run homer over the center fielder’s head. Down 6-2, Team Mordini headed to the bottom of the 7th where bases were loaded with 2 outs but unfortunately could not capitalize. Team Mordini takes on Team Valvassori July 9th!

That’s it for Week 2. Have a great holiday and we will see you guys back on July 9!
