Updated: July 21, 2017

It seemed like a miracle that we were able to get our Softball games in this weekend, as most of Highland Park was basically underwater for the past week due to severe flooding. Not much shake up in the standings this week – both undefeated teams won and both winless teams lost. The center of the pack got a little bit tighter, though. Power Rankings

1. Team Valvassori (Sarkis Cafe) – 5-0

Team Valvassori won once again, beating Team Beltrano 11-4. That is 5 straight Wins to start the season. Next week they have a double header against Team Wellek and the “Battle of the Undefeateds” against Team Pulfer which will likely decide the #1 overall seed and dictate who gets a Bye to the Final4!

2. Team Pulfer (StudentCity) – 5-0

The other undefeated team this season had a great weekend, as they beat Team Wellek by the score of 6-4. Team Pulfer is now 5-0..Their double header next week is against Teams Beltrano and Valvassori. The one against #1 Team Valvassori has HUGE Playoff implications as these Teams will essentially square off for a BYE in the first round of the Playoffs.

3. Team Wellek (Spikeball) – 3-2

Team Wellek lost to the undefeated Team Pulfer this week, but played well in a 4-6 loss. They are still in good shape in terms of Playoff seeding though. Up next for them are Teams Beltrano and Valvassori.

4. Team Beltrano (Dr. Jacob D.D.S.) – 3-2

Team Beltrano took an L to the #1 team in the League, losing 4-11 to Team Valvassori. They will face the tough Teams – Pulfer and Wellek next week.. The Game against Team Wellek could decide who lands in the #3 seed come Playoff time.

5. Team Balkan (Dr. Jacob D.D.S) – 2-3

Team Balkan picked up another win this week against Team Herz by the score of 9-4. That was a nice one for morale as we head into the final stretch of the Regular Season. They will play both Teams Mordini and Marras in their double header.

Rest of the Pack (Alphabetical Order)

Team Herz (CEA Study Abroad) – 0-5

Team Herz lost to Team Balkan this week by the score of 4-9. They look to pick up a few wins next week against Teams Mordini and Marras. It is key to gather some momentum prior to the Playoffs beginning.

Team Marras (ALX Salon) – 0-5

Team Marras is still winless on the year, losing their most recent game by only 1 run to Team Mordini, 7-8. It was a tough one but still plenty of time for them to turn everything around! They have a double header next week against Teams Herz and Balkan.

Team Mordini (NKFI) – 2-3

Team Mordini picked up a clutch win against Team Marras this week, beating them 8-7. That is two straight Ws for Team Mordini who look to climb up the Standings even further as we head into the Playoffs. They try to continue this winning streak next week against Teams Balkan and Herz.

That’s all for this week’s power rankings. See you guys after double header Sunday!
