Power Rankings

1. Team Wellek (Dr. Jacob D.D.S) – Currently tied for 5th with 0 points.

Did the Defending Champs have the best Week 1 ever? No. Are they going to repeat the basically perfect season from a year ago? No. But, they are the Defending Champs and have earned the right to start the season at #1. They will have to have a good showing in Volleyball during Week 2 to keep their spot though. Team Zisook made some additions and looked really good on Wednesday in a Final4 Rematch from a year ago. Shane Cooper debuted for the Champs and had 20 on his first night in All Sports Series. Tommy Sutker added 14 here as well. These guys will be just fine, need to shake off the rust..

2. Team Zisook (Rockin’ Refuel) – Currently tied for 1st with 15 points.

This one had to feel good for Team Zisook who was able to get a modicum of Revenge from last Summer’s epic Final4 Softball clash between them and the eventual Champs Team Wellek. Team Zisook overhauled the roster and brought in a couple of guys from other Teams to really bolster the 2017 squad. Both Reece Pulfer and Brody Nash are joining the crew.. The story on Wednesday Night though was the shooting of Luke Norcia who had 25. Jordan Krawitz had 17 and Jacob Iden had 16 to show once again that Team Zisook will be among the best Hoopers in the League this Summer.. They will head to Volleyball with the rest of the League in Week 2.

3. Team Stotter (First Bank of HP) – Currently tied for 1st with 15 points.

Team Stotter debuts in the Power Rankings at #3. This is a new crew this Summer and they are certainly going to turn some heads.. They come with some All Sports Series vets though like Jay Lehrman, Michael Roeser and Eric Porter. These guys are going to be really really good. Especially in Hoops, as was evidenced by their big win over the always strong Team Gerszonovicz. Eric Porter had 36 to lead the League and Captain Jake had 14 here. Volleyball is up next for them.

4. Team Sernick (Chipotle) – Currently tied for 1st with 15 points.

Team Sernick is back for their 2nd Summer with All Sports Series and they are looking to take a step-up this year and grab the Crown. Captain Jeremy Sernick is joined by last year’s Captain Jordan Baum and Jordan Sherman.. All of whom had at least 13 points in Week 1 against Team Tickman. They have made some off-season acquisitions and they seem much stronger than a year ago. They along with Team Stotter form a very formidable group of Deerfield Teams this year in the College/Prep League.  Volleyball is next for them.

5. Team Gordon (Gordon Bros.) – Currently tied for 1st with 15 points.

Captain Eric and co. are back once again in 2017 and if Wednesday Night is any indication, it is the best version of them we have ever seen. They are entering their 7th Summer in the League. Once upon a time they were the youngest group in the League.. Fast forward to 2017 and they are the elder statesmen looking to make good on something that was started long ago. They got a Week 1 Win in Hoops over Team Fialkow.  Patrick Scanlon had 34 and Paul Gion had 14 in the Win. Volleyball is up next!

6. Team Gerszonovicz (Baker Boys) – Currently tied for 5th with 0 points.

Team Gerszonovicz is back for another run in 2017. They ran into what will likely be the best Hoops squad in the League on Wednesday Night in Team Stotter. It happens. Matthew Lowy had 26 and Seth Gilford had 19 in Week 1. Both of whom had strong showings in the Bloomington League this past year. These guys are going to be just fine and you can expect them to pick up their first points in the Standings next Wednesday in Week 2.

7. Team Tickman (Once Upon) – Currently tied for 5th with 0 points.

Team Tickman is back in 2017 (formerly known as Team Sledd or Team Prizant).. These guys always are competitive and when they have their full squad they are tough to beat. Jake Prizant had 15 on Wednesday and Randall Pulfer had 23 in the Loss against Team Sernick. They were just shorthanded and needed their full roster. Nothing to panic about. Week 2 Volleyball looms for them.

8. Team Fialkow (SLA Insurance) – Currently tied for 5th with 0 points.

Team Fialkow is another returning squad in 2017 and Captained by Jonah Fialkow. They faced a tough Team Gordon squad in Week 1.. Noah Berkowitz had 10 points and Captain Jonah went for 20, most of which came from behind the arc.  These guys excel in other sports and you can expect them to climb up the Standings shortly. Volleyball next Wednesday is the perfect opportunity for that!

Rest of the Pack (Alphabetical Order)

Team Baer (Sushi Kushi Too), Team Herzog (StudentCity),

Team Liss (Testing Timers), Team (Sunset Foods)

All Teams start next week…

See everyone in Week 2! Going to be a great Summer!
