Now that everything is back, we have our eyes fully set on the Playoffs as this is the final Sunday of the Regular Season before each Team takes the court in the Playoffs on April 9. We’ll go over some Playoff Scenarios below as well.

Indoor Soccer Recap

Team Hamers continued to dominate on Sunday afternoon. They remain undefeated. Lucas Wollenman scored SEVEN times on Sunday and Jacob Young added 5 more goals for the #1 Team. Evan Pasternak added 4 more.  For Team SAM Soccer – Jonah Newman scored 2x and Sebastian Mandell added a Goal, and they remain in 2nd Place entering this coming Sunday.

Hoops Power Rankings

1. Team Theta Chi (Campus View Apartments Black) – 5-1

Team Theta Chi reclaims the top spot after the best Sunday anyone has had so far in East Lansing this Season.. They not only got their Win back against former #1 Team Rijos (by 20+) but they also defeated Team SAE once again by almost 40 points. Not only are they a slam dunk #1 in the Power Rankings right now but they have put themselves in a prime position to get the #1 Seed and a BYE to the Final4. All they need to do is defeat Team SAM2 on Sunday and the top spot in the Playoffs is theirs. All Sports Series vet,  Patrick Mertz returned and had 29 points in one of his Games on Sunday. Marshal Alexander-White went for 28 in a Game as well. Captain James Claborn was in double figures for both Games as well. These guys just have so many weapons.

2. Team SAE (Spare Time Orange) – 4-2

Team SAE split their Double Header with other top Teams in the League.  They fell to Team Theta Chi in a Game they’d like to forget but they defeated Team Rijos in what will be the most memorable Game of the Season on Sunday.  They were down 3 with just seconds left and nailed a 3 at the buzzer.. Oh and they were fouled on the play, to WIN the Game with a 4pt Play. Just incredible. Conner Archey and Jared Sheena both had big days. They leap into the #2 spot in the Rankings. With a Win over Team SAM3 on Sunday they lock up the #2 seed in the Playoffs. If they fall, Team Rijos can slide in and steal it..

3. Team Rijos (Campus View Apartments White) – 4-2

Team Rijos was perfect heading into Spring Break at 4-0 and the long lay off may have curbed their momentum. They went 0-2 against Theta Chi and SAE on Sunday. No reason to hit the panic button as all great Teams have an off day, but they are no longer in the driver seats for the top seeds.. They will need to defeat Team Pi Kapp on Sunday to secure the #3 seed.. If not, they will actually fall to #4 as they’d be tied with Pi Kapp in the Standings and Pi Kapp would hold the head to head tiebreaker.. Hopefully they can get back to normal this Sunday.

4. Team Pi Kapp (Campus View Apartments Blue) – 3-3

Team Pi Kapp split their Double Header with SAM on Sunday. They lost the first Game but came back and earned a big Win in Game 2. Andrew Reames was the leading scorer in their Win.  They are in a great spot.. They currently sit in 4th but are just a Game Back of Team Rijos who is in 3rd.. They also will take on Team Rijos on Sunday afternoon — that means if with a win, they will finish with the #3 seed.  If they Lose, they may be caught from behind by a couple of SAM Teams and have a much rougher road to the Championship.

t-5. Team SAM2 (Schweitzer Title) – 3-3 & Team SAM3 (cea Study Abroad) – 2-4

Team SAM2 and SAM3 sort of Teamed up on Sunday and were able to get a split during their 2 Games with Team Pi Kapp. The Wins for their squads (they both also got a W over SAM1) was able to get them into striking distance of Team Pi Kapp who currently sits in 4th in the Standings. If Pi Kapp loses on Sunday to Team Rijos there is a possibility these Teams can finish in the top half before the Playoffs. That is key as they can avoid the top seeds until the Final4.  They both will have tough tests with the Top-2 Teams calling in Week 7!

Rest of the Pack (Alphabetical Order))

Team AEPi (Ella Designs) – 0-6

Team SAM1 (Campus View Apartments Red) – 0-6
