Indoor Soccer Recap

For the second consecutive Sunday we saw Team Hamers just dominate on the Indoor Soccer court. They got a 13-4 Win over Team Alrashedi and showed their depth off once again. Lucas Wollenman had SIX goals on Sunday and takes over the League’s scoring crown at least for the week as he passed teammate Charlie Coon. Captain Travis Hamers had a hat trick of is own as well. Brent Weakland and Evan Pasternak had 2 goals a piece to get the tally to 13.. As for Team Alrashedi, they just couldn’t keep up but Captain Helal Alrashedi did have 3 Goals in this one. Everyone in the Soccer League heads in to Spring Break with a target formed on Team Hamers.

Hoops Power Rankings

1. Team Rijos (Campus View Apartments White) – 4-0

As we mentioned at the top, Team Rijos got past Team Theta Chi on Sunday afternoon and in doing so, is the last Undefeated Team in the League sitting at 4-0. They more than deserve the top spot this week. Kamel Bazzi led the way with 17 points. Ej Brooks had 14 and Aurelion Cukaj had a dozen. These guys can score from all areas of the floor and are very hard to Defend. They head into Spring Break feeling great as they should!

2. Team Theta Chi (Campus View Apartments Black) – 3-1

Team Theta Chi will have a couple of weeks to get over their first Loss of the season in what was a very competitive Game with Team Rijos. Ethan Curtiss went for 17 on Sunday to lead them in scoring. Brad Mahan had 14 as well. These guys are still as likely as any to hold the Crown come April but this will be a good learning experience for them. There is some tough competition on Sundays! Enjoy the break.

3. Team SAE (Spare Time Orange) – 3-1

Getting back on track this Sunday was Team SAE, following their Week 3 L to Team Theta Chi. They got a 10 point Win over Team Pi Kapp and looked as good as they have all season. Conner Archey led the League in scoring on Sunday evening with 22 points. Charles Strehl had 17 and Nick Hudspeth had a dozen!  These guys will ride into Spring Break feeling great and at 3-1 sit just a Game Back with Team Rijos who they will face in the League’s second half.

4. Team Pi Kapp (Campus View Apartments Blue) – 2-2

Team Pi Kapp faced a very tough Team SAE squad on Sunday and came up just a bit short. Grant Szalewski had a dozen while Christopher Merritt led them in scoring with 15 points on the night. They are a very solid Team and with one more scorer could defeat any Team in the current Top-3.  Look for them to make a charge post-Spring Break.

5. Team SAM3 (cea Study Abroad) – 1-3

Getting into the Rankings for the first time following their first W of the Season is Team SAM3. They defeated Team APEi in a competitive contest. Sebastian Mandell led the way in double figures for them. They now can take this momentum and head into Spring Break feeling great and look to move up more in the Rankings following Spring Break!

Rest of the Pack (Alphabetical Order)

Team AEPi (Ella Designs) – 0-4

While they didn’t find their first Win of the Season they did continue to grow in Week 4. They are on the verge of breaking through and post-Spring Break you will see them get a W. Ben Mendlen continues to impress as he was their leading scorer again. They’ll take the break, re-group and come back stronger!

Team SAM1 (Campus View Apartments Red) – 0-4

Team SAM2 (Schweitzer Title) – 2-2

Have a great break everyone! See you back out there on Sunday March 19!
