Playoff Preview:

Opening Rd: 7. Team Goldman (Sushi Kushi Too) v. 8. Team Kirsch (SLA Insurance)

Winner plays 2. Team Lehrman in the Elite8

These two Teams met just a couple weeks back and played a really competitive Game. The Defenses shined for both Teams as Team Goldman won the Game 9-6 over Team Kirsch.  Both Teams are hungry to get the first Playoff W in League history and they’ll have that chance.. The Winners here will go on to face Team Lehrman in the Elite8 immediately following this Game. They can’t look ahead to that one though.. Eyes on the prize.. Only one of these Two Teams can advance. Will it be Team Kirsch who can exact some revenge? Or will Team Goldman sweep the season series between these two groups 2-0?

Elite8: 2. Team Lehrman (Camp Ojibwa) v. Winner 7/8

Team Lehrman earned the #2 seed thanks to a margin of victory tiebreaker with Team Gerszonovicz and as a result get to take on the Winner of the 7/8 Opening Round Game. No matter who wins in that Game, they will be heavily favored. They defeated both Teams during the Regular Season and have emerged as the prime contenders to defeat #1 Team Goldberg (in the Championship – if both get there). QB Noah Prebish has 22 TDs this season is 2nd in the entire League. They’ll look to take care of business on Saturday before a likely bid in the Final4 the following week.

Elite8: 3. Team Gerszonovicz (Twice as Fit) v. 6. Team Saps (Biaggi’s Gold)

These two squads played just last Saturday and it wasn’t pretty for Team Saps. #3 Team Gerszonovicz had a great day to finish the Season – winning two Games and totaling 100 points in the process. Just incredible. It’ll be a new day and a new Game however and Team Gerszonovicz should not over look Team Saps who has shown they are capable of playing with the League’s best. Playoff Games have a way of getting crazy and if Team Saps can put some pressure on the favorites early, who knows what can happen. Only one spot in the Final4 available for these 2 Teams. The eventual Winner is looking at a likely matchup with #2 Team Lehrman. We didn’t get to see Lehrman v. Gerszonovicz in the Regular Season and that would surely be a fun one with a spot in the Championship on the line!

Elite8: 4. Team Dincin (Biaggi’s Brown) v. 5. Team Powers (Schweitzer Title)

The final Elite8 match-up has a chance to steal the show on Saturday and will be our GradCity Game of the Week! The 4/5 Game is usually a very even match-up and these two Teams are more than capable of turning in special Playoff performances. These two Teams met all the way back in the beginning of October and on that day #4 Team Dincin blew-out #5 Team Powers, but this will be a totally different Game and anything can happen. Both Groups need to be locked in here to get the Win. The Winner will move on to the Final4 where they will assume the roll of David v. the Goliath known as #1 Team Goldberg.  First things first, their Elite8 match-up awaits!

BYE to Final4: 1. Team Goldberg (Dr. Jacob D.D.S.)

Team Goldberg completed the perfect Regular Season on Saturday afternoon. They went 6-0 and were simply dominant in doing so. Ziv Tal leads the League with 14 TD receptions and that was just 14 of the League Leading 25 TDs from QB Daniel Michelon.  These guys are as high-powered as it gets.  They are the overwhelming favorites and are more than deserving of their spot in the Final4. The questions become, who will join them and can anyone slow them down?

That’s it for the Playoff Preview! Good Luck to everyone on Saturday for the Playoffs!
