Power Rankings

1. Team Goldberg (Dr. Jacob D.D.S.) – 1-0

We have seen some impressive debut performances in the past but this has to be put right up there on the Mt. Rushmore of Week 1’s for a group of a complete Rookies to All Sports Series.  Team Goldberg led by Captain Goldberg simply dominated from the opening snap.  They defeated Team Dincin 44-0 on the first Saturday of the Season. QB1 Daniel Michelon has the League Lead in TDs through Week 1 with 5 total.  You can tell the guy has played some QB on the far fields of Camp Ojibwa. Both Ziv Tal and Daniel Feldman hauled in 2 TDs each.  These guys will be at or near the top of the Rankings all season long.  They try to go 2-0 against Team Goldman on Saturday.

2. Team Gerszonovicz (Twice as Fit) – 1-0

If not for Team Goldberg’s 44-0 W, then Team Gerszonovicz would have been the #1 Team this week. However, they’ll have to settle for #2 this week. The Team Gerszonovicz name is not a new one to All Sports Series, yet this Fall it is a completely new squad playing under the familiar name.. Captain Michael Gerszonovicz is following in older brother Justin’s footsteps in putting together stellar All Sports Series squads. They defeated Team Kirsch 27-0 and did so with a revolving door at QB. Tyler Gussis threw a TD and also caught 2 in the end-zone on the day.  They were very, very impressive in Week 1. They take on Team Dincin in Week 2 where they will attempt to get to 2-0.

3. Team Saps (Biaggi’s Gold) – 1-0

Team Saps had a fantastic Week 1. They defeated Team Goldman 32-9 on Saturday. Kyle Powers had himself a day – throwing 2 tuddys and rushing for a couple more. Captain Ignacio Saps has put together what seems to be an Offensive juggernaut this season. Captain I grabbed a TD in this one as did Michael Gallo.  They will take part in the GradCity Game of the Week on Saturday as they compete with #4 Team Lehrman. But that’s not all, they are playing a Double Header this Saturday and will play Team Kirsch before their big clash with Team Lehrman.. They could spring up to 3-0 and first place if things go their way Saturday.

4. Team Lehrman (Camp Ojibwa) – 1-0

Similar to Team Gerszonovicz above, Team Lehrman is an extremely familiar name in All Sports Series.  Captain Jeff Lehrman takes over the name and tries to follow in older bros. Ross and Jay’s footsteps. Quite the shoes to fill but if Week 1 is any indication, he and the rest of his crew are going to be in great shape. These guys looked fantastic on the Defensive end on Saturday (and not just because they were rocking Camp Ojibwa jerseys). Their Offense still has a couple kinks to work through but they got the W. Captain Jeff ran in a TD and also hit Gio Diaz for another. They take on #3 Team Saps in a huge battle in the GradCity Week 2 Game of the Week!

5. Team Powers (Schweitzer Title) – 0-1

Team Powers came into their first All Sports Series Game and competed valiantly against Team Lehrman but were unable to get the W. Still they did enough to get into the Rankings this Week at #5.  Captain Aaron Powers’ crew were really tough on D and forced a few takeaways. Joshua Mack hit Jake Ephraim for their lone score of the Game. This squad has a double dip on Saturday and will take on Teams Kirsch and Goldman – both of who are on the outside looking in on the Rankings.. Big week ahead.

Rest of the Pack (Alphabetical Order)

Team Dincin (Biaggi’s Brown) – 0-1

Team Dincin had the unenviable task of taking on #1 Team Goldberg in Week 1. Sometimes there is just not much you can do and this was one of those times. Captain Sam and co. have some talent to work with and as the season moves along you can expect them to improve a ton. Their rough start to the season continues in Week 2 however as they will take on #2 Team Gerszonovicz on Saturday afternoon.

Team Goldman (Sushi Kushi Too) – 0-1

Team Goldman took on #3 Team Saps in Week 1 and did not come out with their desired result in their first All Sports Series Game. The good thing is, there is a ton of time to turn it around and Captain Jackson and co. will be just fine. QB Adam Glickman hit Captain Jackson for a TD in Week 1. They have a tough Double Header looming on Saturday.. First, they take on #1 Team Goldberg but then they will get a shot at #5 Team Powers – a win in Game 2 could mean they leap into the Rankings by this time next week.

Team Kirsch (SLA Insurance) 0-1

Team Kirsch ran into the buzzsaw that is #2 Team Gerszonovicz in Week 1.  Captain Ben assumes the Team Kirsch name from his older brothers Doug and Nick who have played in All Sports Series before. These guys are going to improve quickly as the Fall moves along. They have a Double Header during the second Saturday of the season – In Game 1 they get Team Powers, a squad who is also looking for Win #1 and then they get #3 Team Saps to finish off the day.

That’s it for the Week 1 Rankings. Good Luck on Saturday!
