Open. Rd: 7. Team Sammy JR/SR (CEA Study Abroad) v. 8. Team Sammy FR/SO (Biaggi’s Gray) – Winner plays 2. Team KSig Jr
The Sammy Bowl part deux has a lot more on the line this time around.. All the way back in Week 2, Team the JR/SR squad defeated the FR/SO by 10 to earn their first W of the season.. Neither Team has won since during a Regular Season that both Teams left a few Wins on the table.. They are both competing here for a spot in the Elite8 and a match-up with #2 Team KSig JR – both of these groups are capable of completing the upset in Game 2 as well, but only one Sammy group will get that chance. Captain Matt Berger leads the FR/SO while Captain Jacob Dinetz, Daniel Ostrower and Jared Nossen try to extend their All Sports Series careers one more night!
Elite8: 2. Team KSig JR (Ian’s Pizza) v. Winner 7/8
Team KSig JR ended the season with putting 100 up on AEPi. Wow. They finished at 5-2 and tied for the 2nd seed.. Due to tiebreakers they managed to pull out the #2 spot from Defending Champs Fiji and the KSig SO squad. As a result, they will get to be well rested in their Elite8 Game and take on whatever tired Sammy crew advances. Peter Poggioli had the highest average in the League during the Regular Season and he’ll look to stay hot in this one to get his squad to the Final4. These guys have true title aspirations as they try to earn Kappa Sig their first ever All Sports Series crown.
Elite8: 3. Team Fiji (Biaggi’s Purple) v. 6. Team AEPi (MacTaggart’s Blue)
The only two fraternities to ever win Championships in Madison will take on one another on Tuesday Night and only one of them will get the opportunity to compete on Championship Tuesday. These squads met just last week and saw Fiji get an enormous win, but the slates will start clean on Tuesday Night. Defending Champs Team Fiji are led by Kenji Passini, Tony Stella and Captain Grant Bailey. These guys want to cement their legacy and getting Back2Back Crowns will do just that. As for AEPi, Trevor Berger, Max Goshen and Captain Jordan Marsh will lead the upset charge.. This should be a fun one.
Elite8: 4. Team KSig SO (StudentCity) v. 5. Team DU (The Bucket List)
Of the Games we have in store for Tuesday Night – this Game has the best chance to steal the show. KSig SO enters their first set of Playoffs together and while they tied for the 2nd best record in the League, due to tiebreakers they fell all the way to the #4 seed. Team DU is looking to get to Championship Tuesday and they have the talent to do so. These Teams met all the way back in Week 2 and KSig SO won by 8, but DU has been much improved since then.. Cole Rodby leads the KSig SO, as he has been the leading scorer in most Games. DU is led by Captain Jack Wells who will try to help set the tone early to give his Team confidence.. The Winners here move on to the Final4 to take on #1 Theta Chi on Championship Tuesday!
BYE to Final4: 1. Team Theta Chi (MacTaggart’s Orange)
Theta Chi earned the BYE to the Final4 when they clinched the #1 seed last week. They finished a Game ahead of all 3 Teams tied for 2nd and now they can kick back and relax while everyone else dukes it out this Tuesday Night. They will be scoreboard watching as they take on the Winners of #4 KSig SO v. #5 DU. Who will be the three Teams that join them on Oct. 14!?
That’s it for the Preview! Good Luck to everyone on Tuesday Night!
