Power Rankings

1. Team Holzman – 5-0

The defending Champs remain in the #1 slot of the Power Rankings after another win. They moved to 5-0 after an offensive battle with Team Shapiro, winning a tight one by the final score of 13-12. Team Shapiro gave the #1 ranked team all that they could handle on Sunday, but ultimately Team Holzman was just too much for Team Shapiro to hold off in the end. Team Holzman is now the only undefeated squad in the league through the first 4 weeks. Can anyone slow these guys down? Alec Permach went yard for the second time this season, drove in 3 runs and scored 3 times. Mike Maione went 3-4 with 3 RBI’s. They all had big days to help this squad keep that unblemished record. Next up is Team Russell (1-3) who will be looking to extend their current 1-game winning streak and will also be out for some revenge from their earlier Week 1 defeat to Team Holzman.

2. Team Lessem – 4-1

Team Lessem moves up a spot into the #2 hole in the Week 4 Power Rankings after their double header sweep on Sunday afternoon. They have now won 3 games in a row after beating Team Rhum in Game 1 of their scheduled double dip followed by a surprise trashing against former #2 Team Maione. In their Game 1 victory against Team Rhum by a final score of 10-5, Team Lessem laid it on Team Rhum early as they were carried by Alex Brown and his 2-4, 2 RBI performance. Team Rhum had their chances to take the game from Team Lessem, but Alex Brown also answered that call with his glove and beautiful web gem to lock the game down. They had nice momentum going into Game 2 and shocked Team Maione with a 16-6 slaughter. Captain Zach and Brett Winger had huge Game 2’s, driving in 3 runs apiece to help them leapfrog #2 Team Maione in the standings and Power Rankings. They look to try to catch up to #1 Team Holzman on Sunday with a game against a Team Shapiro (0-4) squad who will be looking to snatch their first W on the 2018 season.

3. Team Maione – 4-1

After a dominating 4-0 start to the season, Team Maione suffered their 1st loss of the year, a 16-6 defeat to Team Lessem. A surprise result for Team Maione who should have expected to compete. Because of this loss on Sunday afternoon, Team Maione drops down to the #3 spot in the Week 4 Power Rankings. They just couldn’t keep Team Lessem from reaching base and for the first time all season, could not find the power bats that they have been exhibiting through the first 4 weeks. Austin Natkin had another nice afternoon, going 2-3 with 2 runs batted in. Bradley Marks, Captain Frank and the Cohen bros all drove in a run, unfortunately it just wasn’t enough to keep up with a streaking Team Lessem crew. Team Maione will look to get back into the win column with another scheduled double header coming up on Sunday. In Game 1 they get a rematch against the squad that they snuck by in Week 1 by a final score of 10-9, Team Rhum (2-3). In Game 2 they take the field against the squad that they torched also in Week 1, Team Tap Dat (0-4).

4. Team Rhum – 2-3

Team Rhum suffered a tough loss to Team Lessem by the score of 10-5 on Sunday afternoon. These guys will be just fine though, even though they can’t seem to quite crack the Top-3. Team Rhum answered Team Lessem’s early call but could not keep up with them in the end. Jacob Silverman had a very nice day at the plate for Team Rhum, going 3-3 for with a HR, his first on the year. Scott Lakin also pitched in with a 2-4, 2 RBI performance but they were missing their RBI leader, Tyler Goldstein and it showed as they were only able to must up 5 runs on the day. They will look to get back on track on Sunday with a huge rematch from Week 1 against #3 Team Maione (4-1) in our Week 5 Game of the Week!

5. Team Russell – 1-3

Team Russell recorded their first W on the season! This will also probably be one of the easier wins they will see this season. They’ll look to keep the winning vibes alive in Week 5 with a match-up against #1 Team Holzman (5-0).

6. Team Shapiro- 0-4

Team Shapiro took it to #1 Team Holzman on Sunday afternoon and put the fear in their hearts and minds in what ended up being the game of the day. By the final score of 12-11, Team Shapiro suffered their fourth straight loss to begin their 2018 campaign. Pamaceck got a K on the hill and Scott Ingram had a fantastic web gem in what ultimately ended up being a losing effort. Ryan Brown and Jake Harris both drove in 3 runs and five other players all drove in a run. Unfortunately for Team Shapiro, the upset was not meant to be on Sunday and will now have to look to Week 5 for that must have first win. They’ll need to shake this loss off quickly as they get #2 Team Lessem (4-1) coming up on Sunday afternoon.

7. Team Tap Dat – 0-4

Team Tap Dat suffered their fourth consecutive loss to begin their 2018 season as they did not have enough players to field a legal team. They’ll look to regroup coming up on Sunday afternoon with a match-up and rematch against #3 Team Maione (4-1).

That’s it for Week 4. Good luck to all in Week 5!
