Power Rankings

1. Team Maione – 7-1

In what was billed as our Week 6 Game of the Week, #1 Team Maione cruised past #3 Team Holzman by a final score of 15-6. After two scoreless innings, Team Maione dusted a strong Holzman crew on the strength of 4 long distance calls, two of which came off the bat of Captain Frank Maione. Austin Natkin also added to his league leading season HR total by going yard along with Geoffrey Perlmans towering shot. Captain Frank’s bat was also accompanied by a web gem to seal the deal in this one. Coming up in Week 7, #1 Team Maione has a double header on the slate with matchups against #5 Team Russell (2-4) and #6 Team Shapiro (1-5).

2. Team Lessem – 6-1

Team Lessem picked up their 5th consecutive victory on Sunday afternoon and 6th victory overall this season with one of the biggest comebacks so far this season. By a final score of 9-8, Team Lessem beat #5 Team Russell to keep their winning streak alive and are still within striking distance of #1 spot. Team Russell jumped out to an 8 run lead, but sparked by Jordan Schwartz web gem in the 3rd, Team Lessem scored 9 unanswered runs for the huge come from behind win. Brandon Coan and Jason Wenk both drove in 2 runs while 5 other players also knocked in a run to spearhead this big win. They’ll look to carry this momentum into Week 7 with 2 games on the slate. Their first game of the day will see them match-up against #7 Team Tap Dat (0-7) before they square off against #3 Team Holzman (5-2) in our Week 7 Game of the Week!

3. Team Holzman – 5-2

Team Holzman came into Week 6 looking to shake off their disappointing Week 5 loss to Team Russell. Unfortunately for Team Holzman, they were unable to contain the powerful bats of #1 Team Maione and suffered their second straight defeat, losing by the final score of 15-6. Things were looking good early in this one for Team Holzman and they held Team Maione to two scoreless innings. Team Maione however found their groove and ended up almost slaughtering a strong Team Holzman crew as they gave up 4 long distance calls. Danny Goldin had a nice day at the place going 2-4 with 2 runs batted in while Sammy Rosenblum and Zach fine were both able to knock 1 run in apiece. Team Holzman will look to shake off this small 2 game losing streak as they take on #2 Team Lessem (6-1) in our Week 7 Game of the Week!

4. Team Rhum – 3-4

Team Rhum came into Week 6 losers of 3 straight ball games and things were starting to look bleak for this squad. They may have turned their season around as they recorded a huge 8-0 shutout win over Team Tap Dat (0-7). As a result of this huge win, they move back up into the #4 spot in the Week 6 Power Rankings. Team Rhum scored consistently inning by inning and slowly buried a Tap Dat crew that showed up with sawdust rather than lumber. Captain Adam Rhum and Tyler Goldstein both knocked in a pair of runs while Andy Pollack’s 4-4 day at the dish with 2 runs scored helped seal the deal in this one. These guys will now need to build off of this victory in Week 7 when they go to bat against #6 Team Shapiro (1-5) who will be coming in fresh off their first victory of the season.

5. Team Russell – 2-4

Team Russell will be scratching their heads for a while after their heartbreaking Week 6 loss to Team Lessem. By the final score of 9-8, Team Russell suffered their 4th loss on the campaign after holding an 8 run lead in this one. How did this one get away from them? Daniel Bolton led the charge early in this game, going 2-4 as the dish with 3 RBI’s and a run scored. Captain Austin Russell also had a nice day at the plate, finishing with 2 hits, 1 RBI and 1 Run scored. Unfortunately for Team Russell, they let Team Lessem creep back into this game and ultimately had one taken from them. Hopefully this game does not come back to bite them in the you know what down the road. They’ll somehow need to shake off this loss quickly as they have two huge games on the slate coming up on Sunday afternoon. They’ll take on #1 Team Maione (7-1) in the first game of their double dip before finishing the day off against #7 Team Tap Dat (0-7).

6. Team Shapiro- 1-5

It’s been a long time since Team Shapiro has tasted victory but on Sunday afternoon they got on the board with their first W on the 2018 Summer campaign. By the final score of 6-3, Team Shapiro squeezed by #7 Team Tap Dat to secure that illusive first victory. Charlie Marks was the Player of the Game in this one, going 3-3 at the dish with 2 RBI’s and a Run scored. Ben Pineless and Ryan Brown knocked in a run apiece to help secure this very important victory. These guys are All Sports Series vets and this win can be a jump start to a strong second half of the season. They’ll look to continue to build on this momentum on Sunday afternoon with two HUGE games coming up on their slate. They’ll begin their day with a match-up against #4 Team Rhum (3-4) before they turn around and play #1 Team Maione (7-1).

7. Team Tap Dat – 0-7

Team Tap Dat had a double header on Sunday and didn’t come away with their desired result – dropping both Games. They lost first to Team Rhum and then to Team Shapiro. Both of those team are All Sports Series 16’’ Softball veterans so it was a tough day, but they are better than their record indicates. They just need to get one win to get back on track. They have another double header coming up on Sunday as they take on Team Russell (2-4) and Team Lessem (6-1).

Lots of good games on deck in Week 7!
