Power Rankings

1. Team Porter – 1-0

Hard to ignore Team Porter for the #1 spot to start the year after they put up 91 points in their season opener. By the final score of 91-42, Team Porter picked up a huge Week 1 victory to start off their 2018 Fall THURSDAY campaign in style. This group, led by their floor general and Team Captain Eric Porter, is certainly one of the favorites to take the title home this season. Led by his league high 46 HUGE point performance, Captain Eric dominated on Thursday night and single handedly outscored his opponents 46-42. Impressive season opener by Mr. Porter to say the least! Daniel Nikitas also pitched in with 22 on Thursday night while Raymond Hunnicutt dropped 13 of his own to help seal the deal early in this contest. Team Porter is a great group of All Sports Series veterans and they will be looking for their first Crown this Fall. These guys look to make it 2-0 against Team Copters (0-1) coming up on Thursday Night.

2. MACS – 1-0

Team MACS and Captain Kevin Evans may be new to the All Sports Series Hoops scene, but they are no strangers to the Chicago Hoops scene. These guys have a ton of experience in Chicago Sport and Social Club leagues and will be looking to make a name for themselves this Fall in their first ever All Sports Series Hoops league. Opening night went exactly how they had hoped, grabbing a huge Week 1 victory over Team Copters by a final score of 68-52. Four different players all scored in double digits, led by Danny Waytula’s 20-point performance. Mike Crawford added 19, while Captain Kevin and Peter Evans combined to drop 26 points. These guys have athletes on their squad will be right in the thick of things this Fall. They’ll look to stay undefeated and pick up their second straight victory coming up on Thursday night when they take the floor against #3 Da Bulls (1-0) in our Week 2 Game of the Week!

3. Da Bulls – 1-0

Coming in at the #3 spot in the Week 1 Power Rankings is another All Sports Series veteran crew, Team DA Bulls. If Week 1 was any indication, this is a group that is going to go very deep into the Playoffs this Fall. What an impressive debut from Captain Jake Bianchi’s squad. They come into their first Power Rankings in the Top-3 and that is a challenging feat in the All Sports Series Chicago Hoops Leagues. They defeated a good Double RIM Jobs squad by a final score of 59-45 in Week 1 and looked strong while doing do. Christopher Kinnerk and Joshua Dix provided most of the fire power on Tuesday night, dropping 23 points combined to help lead their crew to their first All Sports Series Hoops victory of the 2018 THURSDAY Hoops season. 7 other players were all able to get onto the scoresheet on Thursday night. They’ll look to go for 2-0 coming up on Thursday night against #2 Team MACS in what will be our Week 2 Game of the Week!

4. Copters – 0-1

If you really want to get an idea of how deep this Fall league is going to be, look no further than our #4 ranked team in Week 1, Team Copters. I will tell everyone right now; Team Copters is better than the #4 Team in this League. These guys have a ton of experience in Chicago Sport and Social Club Hoops leagues and will be looking to make a name for themselves this Fall in their first ever All Sports Series Hoops league. They ran into a tough squad in Team MACS in Week 1 and did not come away with their desired result, falling 68-52. It is a long season though and they showed flashes of being a good team. Jim O’Connor had a nice debut with 17 points on the night. Every player who walked into the gym on Thursday night made their way onto the scorer’s sheet. In Week 2, they will take on #1 Team Porter (1-0) to try to get their record to .500 and climb up in the Week 2 Power Rankings.

5. Double RIM Jobs – 0-1

Captain Todd Lowery leads this Chicago Sport & Social Club squad into the All Sports Series season. It is a Team of mostly Rookies to All Sports Series, but Captain Todd is bringing in a crew that are no strangers to the basketball court! They had a very tough matchup in Week 1 against #3 Team DA Bulls and unfortunately came out on the wrong end, losing a tough game by the final score of 59-45. Captain Todd led the way with 14 points on opening night. Ron Olacetti, Tim Boland and Tom Temelkoff all pitched in with 9 points apiece. In Week 2, they try to grab their first win on the season when they take the court against INDY Team #3 (0-1).

Rest of the Pack (Alphabetical Order)

Avengers 5.0 – 0-0

INDY Team #3 – 0-1

INDY Team #3 is a squad comprised of a group of free agents that are coming together for the season. These guys got down early to #1 Team Porter as they were trying to get a little chemistry with one another. They got better as the game would move along, but ultimately ended up dropping the game by a final score of 91-42. They will only get better as they get to know one another. Bryanth Perez led the way for this squad on opening night, dropping 11 points. Greg Hegseth added 10 points of his own, while Derrick Mosley and Adam Sharrett combined to score 15. They’ll look to regroup in Week 2 when they take the floor against #5 Team Double RIM jobs (0-1).

Team Sharrin – 0-0

That’s a wrap for Week 1! Looking forward to another great week coming up on Thursday night!
