Power Rankings

1. Team Porter – 2-0

Team Porter made an emphatic statement in maintaining their top spot this week while dispatching a tough Team Copters club. They have an offensive approach that opposing teams simply haven’t been able to solve through the first two weeks of the regular season. For the second straight week, Captain Eric Porter ran the show with a Week 2 league high 32-point performance. Captain Eric is averaging 39 PPG through the first two weeks of the season…WOW! Daniel Nikitas was a solid contributor once against this week as well, chipping in 21 points in the squads 99-62 win. Team Porter will be tested in Week 3 as they have a date with Team Double RIM Jobs (1-1).

2. MACS – 2-0

Our Week 2 Game of the Week played out exactly how we were hoping. It was a fantastic match-up against two very solid teams. And it certainly did not disappoint as Team MACS walked out of Windy City Fieldhouse with a dramatic 57-56 victory over Team Da Bulls. Squaring off against All Sports Series veterans with a lot of things going against them could have spelled doom for Team MACS. And at times on Thursday evening, it certainly appeared like that would be the case for them. But this team of grinders found a way to get it done, again riding court mates Danny Waytula (14 points), Mike Crawford (8 points) and Kevin Evans (15 points) to the narrow 1-point victory. This was a big win for Team MACS and it should certainly be celebrated, but they will need to quickly turn their attention to #4 Team Sharrin (1-0) who will be waiting for them on Thursday night in Week 3 Game of the Week!

3. Da Bulls – 1-1

They were a bounce away from getting in the win column on Thursday night, but Team Da Bulls was unable to get that one last bucket to drop in falling to Team MACS by a final score of 57-56. Losing to the #2 ranked team in the League by 1-point in the final minutes is nothing to be ashamed about and keeps Team Da Bulls in the #3 spot in the Week 2 Power Rankings. Joshua Dix had a monstrous performance, dropping 26 huge points to help keep his guys in this game. Jake Bianchi made his season debut for Team Da Bulls on Thursday night and immediately made his presence felt, contributing a solid 14 points. They’ll need to put this tough loss behind them quickly as they’ll have their hands full with INDY Team #3 (0-2) coming up next on Thursday night.

4. Team Sharrin – 1-0

Of the three remaining undefeated teams in the league, Team Sharrin gets the least respect. Much of it has to do with the simple fact that they played their first game of the season on Thursday evening. If they were not getting much respect before Thursday, they certainly will be getting it now. By the final score of 74-60, Team Sharrin certainly made a statement in their season opener on Thursday evening. Zach Hilgendorf did most of the damage for Team Sharrin, dropping a huge 26-point performance to help secure his squads first victory on the season. Three other players (Max Forman, Tyler Max and Tony Shapiro) were also all able to pitch in with double digit scoring efforts. They’ll look to build upon this nice season opener coming up on Thursday night when they take the floor against #2 Team MACS in our Week 2 Game of the Week!

5. Double RIM Jobs – 1-1

A team that entered the season with high expectations appeared to find its groove on Thursday night, securing a hard-fought 57-42 victory over INDY Team #3. This coming on the heels of a tough season opening loss to Team Da Bulls. The squads leading scorer through the first two games of the season, Todd Lowery, totaled 16 points while Ron Olacetti looked the part by dropping a nice 12-point performance. They were consistent on Offense and looked dominating on the Defensive end. Through the first two weeks of the season, Team Double RIM Jobs is allowing the fewest points per game to opposing teams. A crucial matchup with #1 Team Porter (2-0) and their high-flying Offense awaits them in Week 3.

Rest of the Pack (Alphabetical Order)

Avengers 5.0 – 0-1

To Team Avengers 5.0 credit, they put up a resilient effort in their season opener on Thursday evening but just couldn’t get over the hump against a very solid Team Sharrin crew. By the final score of 74-60, Team Avengers 5.0 opens their 2018 Fall THURSDAY campaign with a defeat. In looking for a silver lining in defeat, Team Avengers 5.0 gave Team Sharrin more than they could handle for three quarters of this game. They couldn’t ultimately catch them but should have left Windy City Fieldhouse with an elevated confidence level. James Proskin and Russell Fions paced the crew with 12 solid points apiece. They’ll look to rebound from this loss and move up in our Rankings in Week 3 when they take the court against Team Copters (0-2).

Copters – 0-2

Team Copters took on #1 Team Porter on Thursday night and came up short, falling 99-62. These guys have enough talent to play with the best teams in the league, they just couldn’t prevent Team Porter from getting buckets in this one. Jared Funk had a nice showing on Thursday night, dropping 18 big points for the Copters crew. Michael Jahrling pitched in with 14 and RJ Bulleri secured 11 points, but that just wasn’t enough to keep pace with a high scoring Team Porter squad. Team Copters has players that can put up big numbers on any given Thursday and their balance on Offense is a good sign for them moving forward. They will take on a Team Avengers 5.0 squad (0-1) in Week 3 for a shot to secure their first victory of the season.

INDY Team #3 – 0-2

Was this the week that gets things heading in the right direction for INDY Team #3? INDY Team #3 certainly hopes so following a much-improved performance in Week 2 against Team Double RIM Jobs. Even though INDY Team #3 took a 57-42 loss in Week 2, they certainly managed to put together a much better all-around performance compared to their season opener in Week 1. Chris Colla, Derrick Mosley and Greg Hegseth all had nice outings on Thursday night, with all three players pouring in 9 points apiece. INDY Team #3 is still trying to learn how to play with one another, but this Week 2 performance is certainly something that they can build on. They’ll try to lock in their first W on the year when they take the floor on Thursday night against Team Da Bulls (1-0).

That’s it for Week 2! Big games coming up in Week 3!
