Updated: November 6, 2018

Power Rankings

1. Team Porter – 5-0

Another perfect week for Team Porter. Team Porter is off to about as good of a start as you can ask for. They are now 5-0. They are averaging just over 92 Points Per Game and are Allowing just over 57. That is a 35-point margin. They are killing it. By a final score of 91-54 over previously ranked #2 Team Da Bulls in Week 5, Team Porter made a statement victory on Thursday evening to put themselves within 1 victory of the overall #1 seed for the 2018 postseason. Eric Porter once again led the squad in scoring in this contest, going for 30 points. The 30-point outing was the lowest point total he has put up all season. Daniel Nikitas and Raymond Hunnictt had 14 as well in Team Porter’s Week 5 victory. These guys are going to go for 6-0 against #3 Team Avengers 5.0 (3-1) in the Week 6 Game of the Week when we return to the courts on Thursday, November 15th.

2. Team Sharrin – 3-1

Team Sharrin recorded another quality Win on Thursday Night by defeating INDY Team #3 by 13 en route to their 3rd Win in 4 Games. As a result, they move all the way up in the #2 spot in the Week 5 Power Rankings. Zach Hilgendorf did what he has been doing all season and dropped a huge 42 burger on INDY Team #3. That makes it 3 weeks in a row with at least 42 points for Mr. Hilgendorf. Amazing! He is now in sole possession of the regular season scoring title, averaging just over 38 PPG! Tyler Max was also in double figures in this Game as he chipped in with 13 points for a second consecutive week. This squad is just so lethal on Offense from multiple spots, that is extremely hard to slow them down. Coming up in Week 6 on Thursday, November 15th, Team Sharrin will be slated with a tough double header. They will first take the court against Team Double RIM Jobs (2-3) before finishing their night against Team Copters (0-5). Big games coming up.

3. Avengers 5.0 – 3-1

Their streak is up to 3 in a row now and if you take away that Week 2 Loss to Team Sharrin, they have been fantastic so far this Fall. They defeated Team MACS by 1 point on Thursday night on a last second tear dropper from Russell Fions (see highlight video) to improve their record to 3-1. With this huge Week 5 victory, Team Avengers 5.0 moves up into the #3 spot in the Week 5 Power Rankings. Russell finished the game with 27 humongous points to lead the way for Team Avengers 5.0 in this contest, but none more important than his last second game winner that set the crowd into a frenzy. They have a very important Week 6 coming up on Thursday, November 15th. They have a double header on tap against #1 Team Porter (5-0) followed by another important game against #4 Team Da Bulls (3-2). A sweep in Week 6 could see them rise all the way into the #1 spot while losses in both games could see them slip into the realm of the unranked. HUGE week coming up.

4. MACS – 3-2

Coming in at the #4 spot in the Week 5 Power Rankings is Team MACS. They are the only squad that lost in Week 5 but moves up a spot in this week’s rankings. By a final score of 49-48, Team MACS lost a heartbreaker to #3 Team Avengers 5.0 on a last second shot. Losing to a very good Team Avengers 5.0 is nothing to be ashamed of but they certainly didn’t play their best in Week 5. They have enough to defeat anyone in the League. Patrick Weiler had a dozen points to lead them in scoring in this contest. Jordan Gillmore, Timmy Kunnel and Kevin Evans all added 8 points apiece for Team MACS as well in this game, it just wasn’t enough to squeeze out the win. Coming up in Week 6 on Thursday, November 15th, Team MACS will take the floor against a winless INDY Team #3 squad that will be doing everything in their power to claw out their first victory of the Fall THURSDAY Hoops campaign.

5. Da Bulls – 3-2

Rounding out the Top-5 in the Week 5 Power Rankings and moving down to #5 from #2 is Team Da Bulls. They suffered their worst defeat of the year on Thursday evening as they went down to #1 Team Porter by a final score of 91-54. These guys are good enough to beat any team in the league, they just need their A+ Game against the #1. They were without their leading scorer on Thursday evening, Joshua Dix, and it showed as they put up their lowest scoring output so far this season. Jake Bianchi led the way on Thursday night for Team Da Bulls in Mr. Dix’s absence, dropping 15 points. Samuel Alexander Ainsworth also had a solid contribution, scoring 12 points of his own. They’ll need to put this loss behind them quickly as they have a very important match-up coming up in Week 6 on Thursday, November 15th against #3 Team Avengers 5.0 (3-1).

Rest of the Pack (Alphabetical Order)

Copters – 0-5

Team Double RIM Jobs blew past Team Copters and Captain RJ Bulleri on Thurdsay night by a final score of 59-32. Team Copters really didn’t have their best stuff in this game and it showed, scoring less than their average of 47 points per game for the season. The leading scorer for Team Copters was Matt Lornz who made his season debut for Team Copters on Thursday night and scored 14 points. Captain RJ also had a nice night, pitching in with 9 points of his own. Unfortunately for Team Copters, they just could not find much offensive production from anyone else to keep this game close. Coming up in Week 6 when we get back to the courts on Thursday, November 15th, Team Copters will get another opportunity to tally their first W in the Win column. They’ll take the court against #3 Team Sharrin (3-1) in an opportunity to bounce back from their Week 5 lopsided loss and try to gain some momentum prior to the Playoffs starting.

Double RIM Jobs – 2-3

Team Double RIM Jobs recorded a 27-point Win over Team Copters on Thursday Night to get their record to 2-3. Four different players were able to put-up double-digit scoring efforts in this contest, led by Connor Quicksell and his 18-point performance. Mr. Quicksell now see’s his team leading scoring average sit at 14.25 PPG. Todd Lowery also pitched in with 11 points, while Drew Sandberg and Mike Lyman added 10 points of their own to help seal this crucial Week 5 victory. With 2 Games left on their regular season schedule, they have high aspirations of finishing the season over .500 at 4-3. They’ll need to win their last 2 to do so, but they are more than capable of doing so. They get #2 Team Sharrin (3-1) in Week 6 on Thursday, November 15th before finishing the regular season in Week 7 against #3 Team Avengers 5.0 (3-1).

INDY Team #3 – 0-5

INDY Team #3 really struggled to get anything going on Thursday night as they took a crushing defeat to #2 Team Sharrin by the final score of 74-61. INDY Team #3 were unable to get rolling in this game, especially on the defensive end, allowing almost 8 points more than their season average of 67.6. On a positive note, INDY Team #3 did play well on the offensive end of the court, scoring the most points in any game so far this season. Jon Reyes led the squad on Thursday night as he had 19 massive points for INDY Team #3. Chris Colla, Andrew Schwartz and Derrick Mosley all had nice nights shooting the ball as well in this one, combing to score 28 of the squads 61 total points. Coming up in Week 6 on Thursday, November 15th, INDY Team #3 will attempt to snap their current 5-game losing streak versus #4 Team MACS (3-2). A win against these guys can completely turn their season around but they’ll need to come up with a great game-plan to knock off the #4 ranked team in the league!

That wraps up Week 5 gentleman! Enjoy your Thursday Night OFF and we will see you back on the court on Thursday, November 15th!
