Playoff Preview

Elite8: #1 Team Deutsch vs. #8 Team Jimenez

Team Deutsch closed out the Regular Season with a big W on Tuesday night and will enter the 2018 TUESDAY Spring postseason with an undefeated regular season record and the overall #1 seed. They are going to be heavy favorites coming up on Tuesday night in the Elite8 round against #8 Team Jimenez. These two squads closed out their regular season on Tuesday night with a match-up against one another and Team Deutsch walked out of WCFH with a solid 80-43 victory. The squads leading scorer and leagues overall second leading scorer (minimum 5 games played), Brian Oddo, paced Team Deutsch on Tuesday night with a very solid 27-point performance. Team Deutsch will look to get the same production out of Brian coming up on Tuesday with a chance to book their tickets into the Final4.

#8 Team Jimenez will enter the postseason on Tuesday night without a regular season win. They lost their regular season finale on Tuesday night to #1 Team Deutsch by a final score of 80-43, and now are tasked to take down the juggernauts coming up on Tuesday night in the opening Elite8 round. Team Jimenez’s leading scorer during the regular season was Tommy who averaged 11.5 PPG. As a team, Team Jimenez is averaging just sky of 44 PPG. They will be looking to get some much-needed scoring production out of Tommy and others if they have any plans on taking down the overall #1 seed and making it into the Final4. The good news for Team Jimenez is that they have the talent and experience to create such an upset, they’ll just need to play their best ball coming up on Tuesday night. The great thing about All Sports Series Hoops leagues is that anything can happen!

Elite8: #2 Team Knox vs. #7 Team Immunity

Team Knox will enter the Spring TUESDAY Hoops postseason as the overall #2 seed with a 5-2 regular season record. They picked up their 3rd consecutive victory on Tuesday night over defending champions Team Darcy to close out their regular season. Tremell Adams had a monster performance on Tuesday night, dropping 33 points to help secure his squads the overall #2 seed. The 33-point performance also clinched Mr. Adams second consecutive regular season scoring title. This man will be a handful for everyone he runs into coming up in the postseason. They get a match-up on Tuesday night in the opening Elite8 round against #7 and All Sports Series newcomers, Team Immunity. These two squads tipped off against one another 2 weeks ago and #2 Team Knox walked away with an 84-61 victory. #2 Team Knox will be looking to repeat this performance coming up on Tuesday night and book their ticket into the Final4.

Team Immunity started their inaugural All Sports Series Hoops season on a high with a huge opening night victory but were only able to muster up 1 other regular season victory. As a result, they finished the Spring TUESDAY Hoops regular season with an overall 2-5 record and will enter the postseason on Tuesday night as the #7 seed. They had an opportunity to finish as high as the #5 seed but ended up going down to #4 Team Dean on Tuesday night by a final score of 72-50. They’ll look to shake off back-to-back losses to close out their regular season campaign with a match-up against #2 Team Knox. These two squads faced off against one another back in Week 6 and Team Immunity went down by a final score of 84-61. Team Immunity will have their hands full as they will try to contain the leagues regular season scoring champion, Tremell Adams. During their match-up back in Week 6, Team Immunity did a great job containing Mr. Adams as they held him to a season low 8 points. They’ll need that same type of defensive effort if they have any plans on advancing into the Final4.

Elite8: #3 Team Darcy vs. #6 Team Watts

Defending champions Team Darcy entered Week 7 with an opportunity to finish the regular season as the overall #2 seed but ended up going down to Team Knox by a final score of 103-91. As a result, they finished the Spring TUESDAY Hoops season with an overall 4-3 regular season record and will enter the postseason on Tuesday night as the overall #3 seed. Sam Martinez had a game for the ages on Tuesday night as he dropped a whopping 38 points against Team Knox. The 38 points a league high for the regular season. Even with this loss, they edged out Team Dean and Team Shlofrock for the overall #3 seed as they held the head-to-head tiebreaker over these two squads. Team Darcy had 8 different guys average double-digit points during the regular season and will need all these guys to step up coming up on Tuesday night if they plan on advancing into the Final4 and continue their quest for the 3-peat. They start off their postseason campaign on Tuesday night with a date against #6 Team Watts, a team they beat by 15 points back in Week 4.

In their regular season finale on Tuesday night, Team Watts took their worst defeat of the regular season as they went down by a final score of 96-64 to #5 Team Shlofrock. Because of this loss, Team Watts finishes the regular season with an overall 2-5 record and will enter the postseason as the #6 overall seed, edging out Team Immunity for the #6 seed due to head-to-head record. The squads leading scorer during the regular season, Connor Shields, was absent from their regular season finale on Tuesday night and his services were severely missed. They’ll need him back next week in the opening Elite8 round as they have a very tough matchup on the calendar with defending champions and overall #3 seed, Team Darcy. These two squads tipped off against one another back in Week 4 and Team Watts took a tough defeat, going down by a final score of 86-71. These guys have the talent to take down any team in this league and will be a very scary match-up for any opponent this postseason. They’ll just need to all click at the right now, which we all know can happen on any given Tuesday.

Elite8: #4 Team Dean vs. #5 Team Shlofrock

Team Dean walked away with a 22-point victory on Tuesday night to close out their regular season campaign against Team Immunity. With this win, they brought their regular season record back over the .500 mark to 4-3 and will enter the Spring TUESDAY Hoops playoffs as the overall #4 seed (head-to-head tiebreaker over Team Shlofrock). Courtney Griffin had a solid 20-point performance to help lead his guys to their very important 4th victory and will look to carry this momentum into Tuesday night’s opening Elite8 round match-up against #5 Team Shlofrock. These two squads tipped off against one another back in Week 3 and Team Dean walked away victorious with a 78-70 W. Statistically, Team Dean finished with a league best 66.1 PAPG average and are certainly one of the best defending teams in this league. The real question for Team Dean will be, can they find enough offensive production to go along with that stingy D to bring home that coveted crown? Their first test will be to take down #5 Team Shlofrock for the second time this season in the opening Elite8 round on Tuesday night.

Team Shlofrock finished their regular season on Tuesday night with a huge victory over #6 Team Watts, beating them by a final score of 96-64. In their 4 regular season victories, Team Shlofrock won by an average of almost 33 PPG! They absolutely dominated their opponents during those victories and can obviously win by a big margin on any given evening. Unfortunately for #5 Team Shlofrock, Team Dean was not one of those 4 victories. Team Shlofrock squared off against Team Dean back in Week 3 and took one of their 3 regular season defeats that night, falling by a final score of 78-70. They’ll need to look back on that Week 3 performance and try to figure out a why walk out of WCFH as victors and a ticket in the Final4. They’ll look to lean on their regular season scoring leader, Andrew Marks and veteran Captain Jake Shlofrock for a chance to advance into the Final4 and Championship Tuesday. This should be one of the best Elite8 opening round match-ups on Tuesday night!

That’s it for the Playoff Preview. Good Luck to everyone in the Elite8!
