All Sports Series Playoffs Week 1 Review

Elite8: #1 Team Deutsch vs. #8 Team Jimenez

Team Deutsch entered the Spring TUESDAY Hoops League Playoffs as the #1 overall seed with an undefeated 7-0 regular season record. On Tuesday night they picked up a WBF (Win By Forfeit) over #8 Team Jimenez as Team Jimenez did not have enough available bodies to field a legal team. The win pushes Team Deutsch’s current winning streak up to 8 games and now are just 2 victories away from hoisting the Spring TUESDAY Hoops Crown! Coming up on Tuesday night in our Final4, Team Deutsch will tip off against #4 Team Dean. These two squads matched up on Opening Night of the Tuesday Spring season back on March 20th and #1 Team Deutsch walked away with solid 81-69 victory. They’ll look to repeat that performance coming up on Tuesday with the winner of this match-up having a 1-hour break before the Championship Game!

For Team Jimenez, this was not the way they saw this season going. They came into Tuesday night at the #8 seed as they were not able to muster up any wins during the regular season. Unfortunately, these guys were not able to gather enough available bodies on Tuesday evening and had to take the forfeit loss to end their season. These guys are as veteran as it comes in All Sports Series and they’ll be back soon. We hope to see them in one of the Summer Leagues coming up. Thanks for playing!

Elite8: #2 Team Knox vs. #7 Team Immunity

Team Knox had been itching to get back on the court on Tuesday night as they are one of the hottest teams in the league entering the 2018 Spring Hoops postseason. They carried their regular season momentum into the opening night of the playoffs on Tuesday evening and walked away big winners over #7 Team Immunity, 92-58. The regular season scoring champion, Tremell Adams, was absolutely lights out as he went for a Week 1 Playoff high of 34 points! Team Knox is one of the highest scoring teams in the league and it will take a massive defensive performance to shut down Tremell or anyone from Team Knox. They are off to the Semis on Tuesday night and will take on #3 and defending champions Team Darcy in a rematch from Week 7 where Team Knox went off for 103 points! Winner of this match-up plays again in the Championship game on Tuesday night!

For 2018 All Sports Series newcomers Team Immunity – they didn’t make it as far as they’d hoped when the season began but they still had quite a few highlights this Season. These guys are no pushovers and have a lot of talent on their roster. With one full All Sports Series season under his belt, Captain Isaiah Watts will tweak the roster as he sees fit and this squad won’t stay down for long! You can expect to see them in the Summer! Thanks for playing!

Elite8: #3 Team Darcy vs. #6 Team Watts

Not exactly sure what it is about these guys, but they just seem to win the big games when they matter most. By the final score of 80-62 over #6 Team Watts, #3 Team Darcy booked another ticket into the Final4 and has the opportunity coming up on Tuesday night for the 3peat and 5th overall All Sports Series Championship! BUT before we get too far ahead of ourselves, Team Darcy will need to avenge their regular season finale loss to #3 Team Knox in the Final4. They lost their regular season finale to #2 Team Knox by a final score of 103-91 and will certainly have their hands full with trying to contain the regular season scoring champion, Tremell Adams. Back in their Week 7 loss to #2 Team Knox, Tremell went off for a season and league high of 38 points! #3 Team Darcy will need to come up with a great game plan on Tuesday night to slowdown the high-flying offense of #3 Team Knox. This one should be a classic as the winner moves on to immediately play in the Spring Championship game!

For Team Watts, they were unable to pull off the upset on Tuesday night in the Elite8 round but were still a solid group this season. They had nice depth and if they add just one more scorer this is a group that could and will compete for future Championships. We hope to see them back this Summer! Thanks for playing gentleman!

Elite8: #4 Team Dean vs. #5 Team Shlofrock

During the Playoff Preview we spoke about how this #4 vs. #5 match-up may be the Game of the Week for Week 1 of the Playoffs and it certainly did not disappoint! These two groups slugged it out and went back and forth, both on the offensive and defensive ends of the court, attempting to earn their spot in the Final4 against #1 Team Deutsch. Captain Tredrick Dean saved his best performance of this season for this Elite8 match-up as he poured in a season high of 18 points. Danny also had a solid night for Team Dean as he was able to pitch in 13 points of his own. The real story in this game however was the defensive performance by #4 Team Dean as they held #5 Team Shlofrock to a season low of 54 points. When all was said and done on Tuesday night, #4 Team Dean got the huge Playoff W! They are headed to the Final4 coming up on Tuesday night with a match-up against #1 and undefeated Team Deutsch. Winner of this game has an hour break before they fight for the Crown on Tuesday night!

For Team Shlofrock – it was a heartbreaking exit for a group that knows they can go much further in the Playoffs. They just didn’t get the bounces and stops that they needed on Tuesday night to seal the deal here. They averaged right around 80 PPG during the regular season but were shut down by a very stingy Team Dean defense on Tuesday night and were only able to muster up 54 points. This group is comprised of several All Sports Series vets – many of which are multi-time Champions – they will not stay down for long and they will be back sooner than later. We hope to see them back this Summer! Thanks for playing fellas!

What a great opening night of Playoffs. Thanks again to the teams that finished up on Tuesday night and we hope to see you back this Summer. Good luck to the Final4 teams competing on Tuesday Night!
