Power Rankings

1. Team Deutsch – 5-0

Team Deutsch is off to about as good of a start as you can ask for. They are now 5-0. They are averaging just over 87 PPG and are allowing just 73. That is a plus 14-point margin. They are playing some great ball right now. In Week 5, they defeated previous #6 Team Watts by a final score of 91-77. Brian Oddo led the league in scoring on Tuesday night, going for 32 massive points. Joshua Sterns had 23 as well to help carry his squad to this important 5th victory. These guys are going to go for 6-0 and try to lock up the #1 overall seed against #3 Team Shlofrock (3-2) in our Week 6 Game of the Week!

2. Team Darcy – 3-2

#2 Team Darcy took a crushing defeat on Tuesday night, falling to All Sports Series Newcomers, Team Immunity. By the final score of 72-64, Team Darcy took their second defeat of the season and can finish no better than the #2 seed with two weeks of regular season games remaining. Team Darcy was stifled all night on the offense end, being held to their lowest scoring output on the season. Captain Bret Darcy finished with 18 points to lead his squad in scoring this week while Danny Romaro finished with 15. Coming up on Tuesday night, Team Darcy gets a date against #5 Team Dean (3-2) in a pivotal match-up for both squads.

3. Team Shlofrock – 3-2

Team Shlofrock played well on Tuesday night in the win over winless Team Jimenez. By the final score of 73-42, Team Shlofrock picks up their 3rd win on the season and move themselves up into the #3 hole in our Week 5 Power Rankings. They got back-to-back W’s for the first time this season and it seems they are finding their groove and just in time to ramp up for what should be an extended Playoff run. They were without Andrew Marks, their leading scorer, on Tuesday night, but that did not stop them from recorded a massive 31-point victory. Jordan Silver, Christopher Kozloff and Captain Jake Shlofrock combined to score 48 of the teams 73 points. When they get that type of production from these three, they are extremely tough to beat. They are going to go toe to toe with #1 and undefeated Team Deutsch on Tuesday night in our Week 6 Game of the Week! Get ready for a high scoring affair.

4. Team Knox – 3-2

Moving back up into the #4 spot in the Week 5 Power Rankings is Team Knox. Team Knox recorded their best W of the Season on Tuesday Night. They battled for 44 minutes with Team Dean and came away with a very big 91-81 victory. The leagues leading scorer (minimum 3 games played) is non-other than Tremell Adams. His massive 26-point performance was good enough to carry his squad to their 3rd win on the Spring season. Captain Andre Knox and Alex Roberts also combined to score 36 points to help lift their squad to victory. Coming up on Tuesday night, #4 Team Knox squares off against #6 Team Immunity in a crucial battle that will have major implications come playoff time.

5. Team Dean – 3-2

Team Dean suffered a tough defeat on Tuesday night. By the final score of 91-81, Team Dean dropped their second game on the season and move down into the #5 spot in our Week 5 Power Rankings. Team Dean really struggled on the defensive side of the ball in this one, allow the most points (91) so far this season to any opponent. They had a tough time stopping the leagues leading scorer and ultimately could not get enough stops in the second half to come back in this one. Courtney Griffin had a monster performance on Tuesday night for Team Dean, scoring a season high of 30 points to try to keep his guys in this game. The scheduling gods are not getting any nicer for Team Dean as they will now move on to a date with defending champions Team Darcy in Week 6. Both teams will be looking to get back on track after suffering losses in Week 5.

6. Team Immunity – 2-3

Back up into our Week 5 Power Rankings is #6 Team Immunity. Team Immunity pulled off the biggest upset in Week 5, taking down our defending champions Team Darcy by a final score of 72-64. These guys had it going all night on both ends of the court as they held #2 Team Darcy to a season low 64 points. On the offensive side of the ball, Team Immunity had 5 different players post double digit points. Kyle Pass led the way with 15 while Captain Isaiah Watts and Yussf Gheriani both had 13. Charlie Kennedy also chipped in with 12 and Brian Hanks finished with 10. Any time you get that well of a balanced scoring attack, your chances or odds of winning the game go through the roof. These guys will look to build upon this win and keep their winning momentum growing when they lock horns with #4 Team Knox coming up on Tuesday night.

Rest of the Pack (Alphabetical Order)

Team Jimenez – 0-5

Team Jimenez is not used to seeing this type of record. By a final score of 73-42, Team Jimenez has now dropped their fifth consecutive game to remain winless on the season, losing to #3 Team Shlofrock. The good news for them is that they are capable of much more and every team is going to make the Playoffs. On a tougher note, Team Jimenez did not have a single player record double digit points. Tommy and Marcus led the way with 8 points apiece, but they will need to find more production from other guys if they plan on making some noise in the postseason coming up in a couple of weeks. They must now forget the first five games and try to finish the regular season strong. They take on an unranked Team Watts (1-4) squad in Week 6. A win here can completely turn their fortunes around and give them the momentum they need heading into the postseason.

Team Jimenez – 1-4

Team Watts is in a bit of a rut. They started off the season with two consecutive losses before picking up a big W in Week 3. Their schedule picked up a bit and they haven’t been able to find their footing again, losing their second straight game once again on Tuesday night, falling to #1 Team Deutsch by a final score of 91-77. They are a talented team though, that hasn’t changed since Week 1. They are still learning how to gel as a unit. Tom Eggleston led with 22 points on Tuesday, while Samuel Weeks posted a very solid 20-point performance. These guys have a chance to bounce back in a big way in Week 6 when they take on unranked Team Jimenez, who is still winless on this Spring campaign. Something must give on Tuesday night.

We had some great games in Week 5! Week 6 should bring us even more excitement!
