Power Rankings

1. Team Maione – 3-1

Team Maione picked up a fantastic win against Team Darcy on Tuesday night, coming out on the good side of a 96-71 score. Tellef Lundevall led all scorers in this one with 29 huge points, one upping teammate Chris Ray who pitched in with 28 of his own. Team Maione have once again showed everyone in the league what they are all about. Team Maione has now won back-to-back ball games and will look to make it 3 in a row coming up on Tuesday night when they take the court against The Movement (1-3) who will be looking to get back to their winning ways.

2. Team Deutsch – 3-1

The good news for Team Deutsch? They quickly shook off a Week 3 loss to #1 Team Maione and just put up 92 points against All Sports Series newcomers, The Movement, thanks to a season high 25-point night from David Hess. The even better news? Brian Oddo is still the team’s leading scorer. When you have these two guys averaging almost 45 PPG combined, your team is probably pretty good. Team Deutsch stays in the #2 hole in the Week 4 Power Rankings by taking it to The Movement by the final score of 92-76. This win reinforces the fact that Team Deutsch will be a true contender all season and have a legitimate shot at the title. The even better better news? They’ve arguably have played one of the toughest schedules to begin the season. All signs are pointing up right now in the Team Deutsch camp, but they’ll have to really buckle down and play some solid ball on Tuesday night as they welcome Team Berkson (1-3) to the gym.

3. Team Dean – 3-1

Staying put in the #3 spot in the Week 3 Power Rankings with a very important Week 3 victory is none other than veteran squad Team Dean. In their last two wins since that tough Week 2 loss to Team Deutsch, Team Dean has found their stride and are putting up nice points while holding it down on the defensive end of the court. Still worried about that loss? Better yet, were you ever? In an electrifying 80-74 victory over Team Berkson on Tuesday night, Garrett Jones and Courtney Griffin had huge nights to lead this team to a very important victory. Team Dean plays the definition of team ball as they seem to always get everyone involved. They can and will cause havoc for defenses and have an opportunity coming up on Tuesday night to continue their climb up our Rankings when they go toe-to-toe with #4 Team Darcy (1-3).

4. Team Darcy – 1-3

Team Darcy suffered a blowout loss on Tuesday Night, falling to #1 Team Maione by a final score of 96-71. Team Darcy now sits with a 1-3 record through the first 4 games of the regular season, certainly not something that they are used too. There is no need to panic or worry (yet) for Team Darcy as they still have big games on the calendar coming up. Sam Martinez returned to the lineup on Tuesday night and put up 32 monstrous points, while Jason Domash continues to put up consistent numbers of his own, scoring 10. Team Darcy certainly missed the scoring from Tim Dunlaey as he was unable to suit up in Week 4, and it showed. Team Darcy will look to improve on the defensive end and get back to their winning ways in Week 4 against the guys right above them in the #3 spot, Team Dean (3-1). Huge game for both squads coming up on Tuesday night.

5. The Movement – 1-3

Holding down the #5 spot in the Week 4 Power Rankings is The Movement who suffered a lopsided defeat to #2 Team Deutsch. The 92-76 defeat was their second in a row on Tuesday evening and now are staring at a 1-3 regular season record with 3 regular season games to go. They just couldn’t get enough stops late in the game to keep up with Team Deutsch to get the win. Ron King tried to put these guys on his back and carry them across the finish line as he finished with a HUGE 38-point performance to lead all scorers in Week 4. Captain Robert Snowden and Willie Harris chipped in with 17 and 15 respectively, however what they were doing so well on the offensive side of the ball, lacked on the defensive end. These guys are too good and have way too much experience to stay down for long. They’ll look to rebound quickly in Week 5 with a Week 1 rematch against #1 Team Maione (3-1). A third straight loss would likely cause some major questions to be asked, while a win here can be that statement victory that they have been looking to make. Big week coming up.

6. Team Berkson – 1-3

Team Berkson had a disappointing Week 4 in the Summer Tuesday Hoops League, suffering their third loss of the season, falling to #3 Team Dean by a final score of 80-74. Andrew Stempel led the scoring for Team Berkson in this game, posting a very nice 25-point performance after missing action in Week 3. Team Deutsch also got some big contributions from Matt Kaplan and Cole Kirsh who combined to score 30 of the teams 74 points. Team Berkson is, without a doubt, a very talented team and can compete with anyone in the league. They will head into Week 5 coming up on Tuesday night looking to shake off these last few losses against an extremely tough #2 Team Deutsch crew who will be coming into this match-up with a lot a confidence following their big Week 4 win.

That’s it for Week 4. Hope everyone had a great holiday!
