Power Rankings

1. Team Maione – 4-1

Team Maione picked up their third win in a row this week, beating The Movement by the score of 86-85 in what ended up being our Week 4 Game of the Week! Chris Wroblewski was able to suit up for a second straight week and lead the team in scoring with a huge 27-point performance. Dylan Richter also made an appearance after a couple of weeks off and was able to put up 24 points to help lead this squad to a fantastic 4th regular season victory. Team Maione looks to keep up with Team Deutsch in the standings and will have the opportunity to do so coming up on Tuesday night against Team Dean (3-2).

2. Team Deutsch – 4-1

Team Deutsch got out to a super-fast start in Week 5 and never relinquished the early lead, beating Team Berkson by a final score of 102-69. Brian Oddo led the way once again for Team Deutsch, dropping 38 points, his second 30+ point performance of the year. Ryan Sullivan and David Hess also had great shooting nights, dropping 49 combined points to help get their squad their 4th victory on the year. Coming up on Tuesday night, Team Deutsch will look to continue their roll when they get to tip off against #4 Team Darcy (2-3).

3. Team Dean – 3-2

Team Dean was slotted against a very tough and familiar foe in Week 5, Team Darcy. They played them very tough for most of the game, but the game got away from them in the end en route to a 19-point loss by the final score of 90-71. Courtney Griffin came into Week 5 averaging 25.5 PPG but was held to a season low 11 points by a very stingy Team Darcy defense. Garrett Jones and Mark Haas had nice overall games, combing to drop 27 of the teams 70 total points. They look to get back into the win coming up on Tuesday night against #1 Team Maione (4-1).

4. Team Darcy – 2-3

Team Darcy found the win column once again after losing their game last week, beating Team Dean 90-71. Great Teams bounce right back after a Loss and they have shown the ability to do that for years now. Tim Dunlaey had a monster performance after sitting out in Week 4, dropping a season high of 34 points to help secure their second victory on the campaign. Tom Dunlaey and Sam Martinez also pitched in on Tuesday night, combing to score 30 points. They’ll look to build on this nice win in Week 6 when they take the court against #2 Team Deutsch (4-1).

5. The Movement – 1-4

The Movement came out to a hot start in Week 5, taking a nice lead in what looked like was about to be the upset of the week. Unfortunately, they couldn’t hold on and ended losing by only 1 point, 86-85. They just could not get enough stops down the stretch against the big men of Team Maione and ended up suffering their 4th defeat on the season. Ron King put up his second straight 38-point performance in Week 5 but fell just one bucket shy of carrying his team to the shock victory. Captain Robert Snowden was his consistent usual self but also could not push the squad over the hump. They’ll have another opportunity to redeem themselves when they take the court against Team Berkson (1-4) in Week 6.

6. Team Berkson – 1-4

Team Berkson is the other 1-win team this year. By the final score of 102-69, Team Berkson dropped their third straight decision on Tuesday night and saw their record fall to 1-4. They just need to keep focusing on what is ahead and not what has happened. Andrew Stempel was the bright spark in their offense, scoring a team and league high 39-points while Matt Kaplan added 10 of his own. They will try to beat The Movement (1-4) coming up on Tuesday night and rise up in our Week 6 Power Rankings.

That’s it for Week 5. Good luck to all on Tuesday night!
