Power Rankings

1. Team Lenny and the Jets – 2-1

Lenny and the Jets jump up from #4 to #1 this week after claiming their second victory on the young season. Sure, one can argue that they have an extra game or two in hand over the other teams, and they do, but one cannot argue about their performances. Led by this week’s scoring leader Daniel Macks and his 30-point performance, Team Lenny and the Jets pulled out a huge win over Team Luger, 68-65. Robert Monfred and Garrett Fisher had 12 apiece to help their squad walk out of WCFH on Tuesday night as #1 in this week’s Power Rankings. They shouldn’t celebrate for too long though if they plan on making it 3 wins on the season and keep the #1 spot as they go toe to toe with a Team Shlofrock squad who will be looking to avenge their loss from this past Tuesday night.

2. Team Bollier – 1-1

When a team takes down the defending champs and they average the most points per game, that team is probably pretty good. Making moves from #6 last week to the #2 spot this week is Team Bollier. History seems to repeat itself doesn’t it? They are competing in their second All Sports Series League this Winter and just like last their inaugural season in last Fall’s league, they once again have earned a true statement W early on! They knocked off 3x Champs bdarcy@commandtransportation.com by a final score of 77-70. Rodney Clark’s 28-point performance was the difference in this one. Rodney now has a share of the lead for the league’s scoring title after 2 weeks. Tim Rusthoven had 18 and Jeff put up 11 to pick up this huge win. These guys are deep and can really shoot the ball. They need to continue to build on this performance as they look to get to 2-1 next week against Team Tucci.

3. Team Knox – 1-1

Team Knox makes the leap from #5 to #3 this week after picking up their first W on the season. This past week they fought off a tough Team Shlofrock crew, 71-65. Tremell Adams, for the second week in a row, had a dominate performance putting up 25 points. Tremell now shares the league’s scoring title with Rodney Clark of Team Bollier after two weeks of play. Chris White also chipped in with 15 points to get these guys a much-needed early season victory. It really looks like this group thrives when they push the pace which in turn means they can score a ton of points on any given night. They currently sit second in the league averaging 76 PPG. They’ll need to keep this fast pace, high scoring offense rolling next week as they have a huge matchup against bdarcy@commandtransportation.com who will be doing everything they can to avoid dropping two in a row.

4. bdarcy@commandtransportation.com – 1-1

Taking a big fall from the #1 spot this week, bdarcy@commandtransportation.com lost a hard-fought game to Team Bollier, 77-70. They had three guys put up double digit points. Eyad has 19 points, Fadi Elayyan added 17, while Dan Turner put up 15. Still not enough to bring home the W. The loss pushes them down to the #4 spot this week. This was the second year in a row where they lost a close one early in the season to Team Bollier. They can’t let this early-season defeat get them down if they plan on making it 4x. This could perhaps be a bit of a wake-up (déjà vu?) to just how good the league is this Winter. They will try to get back over. 500 in Week 3 against #6 Team Shlofrock.

5. Team Luger – 1-1

Dropping a heart-breaker 68-65 to Lenny and the Jets, Team Luger slides down three spots in this week’s Power Rankings to #5. Jedd Barron and captain Max both put up 19 points on the night while Jacob Gordan dropped 16 of his own. Those nice performances were not enough to knock of a solid Lenny and the Jets crew that is playing great ball. Team Luger will have an opportunity to pick themselves back up against Team Bernstein on Tuesday night, who will be playing the back-end of a Double Header. Great chance for Team Luger to get over .500 again in Week 3.

6. Team Shlofrock – 1-1

Team Shlofrock falls a bit from #3 in the Power Rankings last week but still had a good game against a solid Team Knox team that overtook their #3 spot from a week ago. Four different guys scored in double digits that balanced their offensive attack on the evening. Captain Jake lead and paced the squad with 15, Michael Pisanelli had 13, Adam Rhum had 12 and Jake Lerman rounded them off with 11. Unfortunately for Team Shlofrock, Team Knox’s speed and timely makes is what ultimately doomed them in this one. Tough loss to another good team. Can’t be too disappointed about this one. Next week Team Shlofrock faces another tough battle as they tip off against #1 Lenny and the Jets team that will be looking to hold on to their top spot.

7. Team Tucci – 1-1

Team Tucci picked up a dominate victory on Tuesday Night, their first of the Season, by a score of 73-38 over Team Kaplan and holds serve at the #7 spot. Their lopsided win last week truly defines the word “balanced.” 5 of their 6 players all put up double digit points. Paul Kaczor led the team with 17 points but everyone had a good performance last Tuesday to pull their record to .500. Team Tucci has a bunch of veterans and have had a ton of success over the past few seasons but never enough to bring home that title. Can this win be the jump start to more wins and success this season and ultimately that illusive crown? There are a ton of really good Teams so they may fly under the radar a bit, but they can win on any night. Don’t see them in this #7 spot for much longer. Michael Gomez went for 28, which was the second highest total for Week 2. They look to make it 2 in a row against #2 Team Bollier in Week 3.

Rest of the Pack (Alphabetical Order)

Team Bernstein – 0-0

Team Bernstein make their 2018 Winter season debut on Tuesday night. They have a chance to Win not 1, but 2 Games on Tuesday Night as they open their season with a double header. They first take on a 0-1 Team Kaplan squad who will be looking to pick up their first win on the year, before tipping off against #5 Team Luger.

Team Kaplan – 0-1

Team Kaplan made their season debut on Tuesday night and came out on the losing end of a lopsided game. They took a loss by the final score of 73-38 to a very strong Team Tucci squad that really brought their A-game in this one. Captain Brett put up 20 of his squads 38 points. They’ll need more contributions from everyone if they plan on getting their first Win on the year next Tuesday. They tip of against Team Bernstein who will be making their season debut.

Great games this week! Looks like week 3 can be even better!
