Power Rankings

1. Team Lenny and the Jets – 4-1

Their streak is up to three in a row – and if you take away that Week 1 loss to Bdarcy in the back end of their double header – they have been playing fantastic ball this Winter. They defeated Team Kaplan by 22 points on Tuesday Night, winning 91-69. The 91 points that they put up was a season high for this crew. In fact, the 91 points was the highest scoring output by any team so far this season. They weren’t playing around on Tuesday night. Daniel Macks exploded for 37 points and now sits in fourth place for the leagues scoring title, averaging 26.8 PPG. Robert Monfred also had a big night dropping 20 points. Coming up on Tuesday night, Team Lenny and the Jets square off against a Team Knox squad that is sitting at 2-2 and is coming off a tough defeat to Team Tucci in Week 4. Huge week in store for both teams.

2. Team Tucci – 3-1

Moving up into the #2 spot in the Week 4 Power Rankings is Team Tucci. They won their third game in a row on Tuesday night, beating up on Team Knox by a final score of 83-60. These guys came into Week 4 on a mission and they certainly did not disappoint. The teams leading scorer, Ryan Brown, dropped his second straight 24-point performance to lead these guys to a huge victory. Captain Alan Tucci also did what he has been doing all season and dropped 22 points on a very good Team Knox squad. The 22 points raises Captain Alan’s season average to 18 PPG. They’ll look to push their winning streak up to four games in Week 5 when they face off against a winless Team Bernstein crew who will be doing everything in their power to get their first win on the season.

3. Team Bollier – 2-2

Moving up two spots in the Week 4 Power Rankings is Team Bollier. These guys received a win by forfeit in Week 4 as their opponents, Team Luger, did not have any players to field a team. They’ll look to continue to build on this victory in Week 5 when they matchup against a very tough Team Knox squad. A win for Team Bollier will push them above the .500 mark while a loss will push them below .500. A critical game that will have many consequences down the road in terms of Playoff Seedings.

4. bdarcy@commandtransportation.com – 2-2

Also moving up two spots in the Week 4 Power Rankings is defending champs Bdarcy. They got back to their winning ways in Week 4, cruising past Team Bernstein by a final score of 82-64. The win also snaps their little two game losing streak. Six different players scored in double digits on Tuesday night with Donny Romaro leading the way with 19 points. Fadi Elayyan yet again had a solid performance dropping 12 points, his third straight double digit scoring effort. They’ll look to continue their climb up the standings and up our Power Rankings in Week 5 when they square off against a Team Shlofrock squad that is coming off a big win themselves. The winner of this game will hold the tiebreaker between these two clubs, which I am sure will come into play once the seedings for the Playoffs are released in a few weeks’ time.

5. Team Knox – 2-2

Coming into Week 4, Team Knox had a lot of things going in their favor. They were riding a two-game winning streak. They have two guys averaging at least 20 PPG. They also played an extremely tough schedule in the first three weeks of the season and were sitting at 2-1. Unfortunately for them, they ran into a Team Tucci squad in Week 4 that was firing on all cylinders. By a final score of 83-60, Team Knox suffered their worse loss on the season and dropped their second game. Tremell Adams had another solid performance in Week 4, scoring 22 big points. David Johnson pitched in with 15 and Chris White had 10. At the end of the night, Team Knox just couldn’t get stops against Team Tucci. They’ll look to rebound from this sub-par performance in Week 5 that has them playing a double header. They’ll first tip off against #3 Team Bollier before facing off against #1 Team Lenny and the Jets. Very important games coming up for Team Knox in Week 5.

6. Team Shlofrock – 2-2

Moving back into the Power Rankings in Week 5 and all the way up into the #6 spot is Team Shlofrock. A week after they completely dropped out of our Rankings, they get a huge win over Team Bernstein by a final score of 88-58. Jake Lerman continues to pace this squad week in and week out. Week 4 was no different. Jake had a team high 18 points, his second consecutive 18-point game. Captain Jake Shlofrock also came up big in this game, dropping 17 points. Four other guys, Lathon, Chad Silver, Brett Greenspan and Adam Rhum all had at least 10 points in this one. This was an all-around great group effort to pull them back to .500 and back into our Rankings. They have a big test coming up in Week 5 against defending champs Bdarcy. The winner will surely move up our Rankings in Week 5 while the losing team can potentially drop out of our Rankings completely.

7. Team Luger – 2-2

Dropping three spots in the Week 4 Power Rankings is Team Luger. They regrettably had to take a forfeit loss in Week 4 against Team Bollier as they did not have any players to field a legal team. They’ll look to bounce back in Week 5 against a 1-3 Team Kaplan squad who’ll be looking to avenge their Week 4 loss. Another loss for Team Luger in Week 5 can see them drop out of our Week 5 Power Rankings.

Rest of the Pack (Alphabetical Order)

Team Bernstein – 0-4

Team Bernstein played two games on Tuesday night (for the second week in a row). They once again were unable to get a win in either of them, but they continue to gather team chemistry as they go. They didn’t have their best showing in Game 1 of the double header against #6 Team Shlofrock, losing to them by 30 points by a final score of 88-58. Tyler Darwick put up 13 points in this one to lead the squad while Samuel Ross pitched in with 11. They battled defending champs Bdarcy a little better in Game 2 of their double header, but still came up shy, losing 82-64. Despite the losing effort, Samuel Ross stepped up again in game two and led the squad with 16 points. Again, they just had difficulty stopping Bdarcy on the defensive end. These guys have enough talent to Win Games, they just need to figure out how to put it all together and use everyone’s strengths. They take on the #2 Team Tucci in Week 5.

Team Kaplan – 1-2

Team Kaplan took on #1 Team Lenny and the Jets on Tuesday night and came up short, falling 91-69. These guys have enough to play with the best teams in the league, they just couldn’t prevent Team Lenny and the Jets from getting buckets in this one. William Edge had a nice performance, dropping 26 huge points. That was the second highest scoring total by any player in Week 4. Daniel Song pitched in with 18 and Eric Shamberg dropped 14 but that just wasn’t enough to keep pace with a high scoring Team Lenny and The Jets squad. They have players that can put up big points on any given Tuesday and their balance is a good sign for them moving forward. They will take on 2-2 Team Luger squad in Week 5 in an attempt to get back to .500

That’s all for Week 4. Can’t wait to see what Week 5 has in store for us!
