Power Rankings

1. Team Lenny and the Jets – 6-1

With their win over Team Bernstein (and by 39!) they have moved into the driver seat for the #1 seed in the Playoffs! By the final score of 94-55, Team Lenny and the Jets picked up their 5th consecutive victory on Tuesday night and improved their record to 6-1. Talk about balance, these guys had three different starters post 20 or more points in their big Week 6 victory. Leonard Smoliak led the charge posted 26 huge points, followed by Spencer Barclay’s 22 and Daniel Macks 20. They must defeat #2 Team Tucci during Week 7 and the #1 seed will be all theirs. Now, if they were to fall to Team Tucci, Team Tucci would finish as the #1 seed and Team Lenny and the Jets will fall to the #2. This could potentially be a preview of our championship game in a few short weeks and will be our Week 7 Game of the Week! But first things first, they will look to close out the regular season strong and start as the #1 seed come Playoff time.

2. Team Tucci – 5-1

Recording their 5th consecutive victory on Tuesday evening by beating Team Luger by a final score of 76-71, Team Tucci have given themselves the opportunity to finish the regular season as the overall #1 seed heading into the playoffs. Captain and floor general Alan Tucci carried his guys once again on Tuesday night by putting up 28 huge points and takes his season average to 20.50 PPG. It will not be easy in Week 7 however as they have a double header on the docket. A win for Team Tucci in Game 1 of the double dip vs #1 Team Lenny and the Jets, guarantees them the #1 overall seed, regardless of what happens in Game 2 of the double header. However, a loss in Game 1 vs Team Lenny and the Jets, and a whole world of scenarios can unfold in terms of where they will be seeded come playoffs. Their task is simple on Tuesday evening in Game 1 of their double header and our Week 7 Game of the Week – just win!

3. bdarcy@commandtransportation.com – 4-2

Staying in the #3 hole of the Week 6 Power Rankings is none other than defending champs, BDarcy. By the final score of 93-57, Team BDarcy crushed Team Kaplan to give themselves an opportunity to head into the playoffs as a Top-3 seeded team. Tom Dunlaey had a huge night posting 25 points while the team’s leading scorer, Fadi Elayyan, put up 21. Dan Turner and Donny Romaro also had nice nights, posting 17 and 14 respectively. Week 7’s match-up against #2 Team Tucci is crucial for their seeding aspirations. They’ll be looking to take advantage of Team Tucci’s schedule as this will be their second game of the evening. A win guarantees them a top-3 seed while a loss could push them as low as the #5. This is a huge match-up for these guys and they will want to get that W to avoid that dreaded #4 vs #5 match-up in round 1.

4. Team Knox – 4-3

Team Knox got a dominant win on Tuesday night, beating Team Kaplan by a final score of 91-72. The leagues second leading scorer, Tremell Adams, had another monster performance on Tuesday, scoring 28 points to help lead his squad to a very important 4th victory. Tremell is only .14 PPG behind the leagues scoring leader, Judd Barron, and another huge performance on Tuesday night could seal the regular season scoring title for him. Chris White, Captain Toussaint Knox and David Johnson also all scored in double figures in this one to help seal the big Week 6 win. Team Knox currently sit in the #4 spot. A win against a winless Team Bernstein on Tuesday night to close out the regular season would guarantee them no worse than the #4 seed while a loss could push them down to the #5. Important game that they will need and want to win.

5. Team Bollier – 3-3

Big win on Tuesday night for Team Bollier who got back to the .500 mark in Week 6 beating Team Shlofrock by a final score of 83-81. This big win moves Team Bollier into the #5 hole in our Week 6 Power Rankings. Even without their leading scorer, Rodney Clark, these guys were able to put up some big points on Tuesday night as four different players finished in double figures. Marcus Agee led the way with 18 huge points, none bigger that the clutch shots he hit in the second half, to secure their third victory on the season. They also currently sit in the #5 spot in the standings at 3-3. A win against Team Kaplan on Tuesday Night in their Regular Season finale would dish Team Kaplan their 3rd consecutive loss and could elevate Team Bollier into the #4 seed. A loss in Week 7 could potentially push them all the way down to the #8 seed (dependent on all other results) which they surely will want to avoid. Those are HUGE stakes in a game that directly impacts the entire middle of the pack – all eyes will be on them in Week 7!

6. Team Kaplan – 2-4

Team Kaplan entered Week 6 with a .500 record at 2-2 and a double header on their slate. Unfortunately, they left WCFH on Tuesday night with two losses in their pocket and dropped their record to 2-4. In Game 1 of their double header, they lost a tough one to a very good Team Knox squad, 91-72. Malvin had a nice game in this one, posting 19 big points. They just could not get any stops on the defensive end as Team Knox seemed to score at will. In Game 2 of their double header, they simply ran out of gas and lost by a lopsided score of 93-57. Todd Neuhausen had 14 in this one while William Edge and Captain Brett both had 12. As of today, these guys sit tied for 6th in the standings. A win in Week 7 against #5 Team Bollier could move them up to the #5 seed, while a loss can push them all the way down to the #8. Extremely important game for both squads coming up in Week 7.

7. Team Shlofrock – 2-4

Team Shlofrock lost a heart-breaker on Tuesday night, falling to Team Bollier, 83-81. The loss was their second in a row and drops their record to 2-4. Jake Lerman, Week 6 league’s leading scorer, had an unreal game, scoring 34 monster points! Michael Pisanelli also had a nice night posting 17 big points. Unfortunately for Team Shlofrock, that just wasn’t enough to get past a determined Team Bollier crew. Team Shlofrock will now close out the regular season in Week 7 with a match-up against a 2-4 Team Luger squad that will be looking to snap their current three game slide. This game will have major ramifications in terms of where these teams will be seeded come Playoffs. A win here for either squad could potentially push them up all the way to the #5 seed, while a loss here could potentially see the losers seeded as low as the #8 seed. Both squads will come out determined and focused next Tuesday which should translate into a fantastic ball game.

Rest of the Pack (Alphabetical Order)

Team Bernstein – 0-6

Team Bernstein dropped their 6th straight game on Tuesday night, falling to #1 Team Lenny and the Jets, 94-55. All seven of their players were able to score in this game and not a single guy scored less than 5. However, the leading scorers for them in this game, Samuel Evans and Tyler Darwick, posted only 11 apiece. They are just not playing the way that we know they can, and much of this is due to the fact that they do not have a single player that is scoring more than 11 PPG. Samuel Ross leads the team in the scoring category, posting a little over 10 PPG. They need to find that one guy that can take over ball games and right now they just do not have that. Week 7 will not be much easier for them as they square off against #4 Team Knox. They just need to get some confidence going. Team Bernstein needs to forget about W/L at this point and just feel good about themselves and build some confidence heading into the Playoffs.

Team Luger – 2-4

Team Luger lost a close one on Tuesday Night. They fell 76-71 to an extremely tough Team Tucci, in what was a well-played game by both Teams. The league’s leading scorer, Judd Barron, was back in action after not playing since Week 2 and led the way for them with 27 huge points. Judd averages 28 PPG and can claim the regular season scoring title in Week 7 with another big performance. Captain Max had 17 in this one while Ryan Lederman pitched in 11 of his own, but that still wasn’t enough to take down a Team Tucci squad that is doing everything right at this point. They’ll head into Week 7 with a pivotal match-up against another 2-4 squad, Team Shlofrock. As we mentioned above, this log jam towards the bottom of the standings can and will be shaken up in Week 7. Win and potentially secure a Top-5 seed, lose and potentially go into the Playoffs as an 8-seed. Extremely important match-up coming up in Week 7 for all of these teams as everything should be laid out on the line!

Good Luck to all in the Regular Season finale on Tuesday night!
