Two-thirds of the Regular Season is officially in the books. With only 2 weeks of Regular Season games remaining on the schedule, there is still everything to play for in the HP Prep Flag Football League. The Playoffs are right around the corner and all teams will be jockeying for Playoffs positions over the final two weeks. But before we get too far ahead of ourselves, let’s look at where our teams line up in the Week 4 Power Rankings. The 4th week of the Regular Season brought with it a strong slate of matchups. But any chaos that could have resulted in drastic changes at the top of the Week 4 Power Rankings didn’t come to fruition. The top three teams remain the same this week with Team Scornavacco, Team Kirsch and Team Dincin holding down their respective spots for another week. Sorting out the next tier is where it begins to get interesting, with no less than five teams making a legitimate case for the No. 4 spot. This is going to be an exciting finish!

Quickly, for those Playing in their first All Sports Series League.. Here’s what to expect from the weekly Power Rankings.. Each week we’ll take a statistical look at the Teams and Rank them 1-5 with the UnRanked Teams listed alphabetically.. Also, if you have ever want to find any info on the League.. Power Rankings

1. Team Scornavacco – 5-0

Boy oh boy, did Team Scornavacco look like a Championship team once again on Saturday. Fresh off a 106-0 thrashing in Week 3, Team Scornavacco came out aggressively once again on Saturday afternoon. Noah Prebish — someone many consider to be the league MVP — threw six TD strikes and rushed in two more to bring his season total to a whopping 17 total TDs! Four of his six TD passes on Saturday went to Gio Diaz who now leads the League in that category with 7. By the final score of 65-0 over Team Baum, Team Scornavacco brought their record up to a perfect 5-0. In other words, Team Scornavacco doesn’t ease up on the gas pedal, and they have A LOT of trust in their quarterback. With defenses so focused on the Prebish/Diaz combo, MVP candidate Noah takes advantage of 1-on-1 matchups wherever he sees them. And by takes advantage, I mean delivers accurate, on-time throws to all players. Oh, yeah, and the defense pitched a shutout for the second consecutive week. Team Scornavacco will look to close out their Regular Season schedule with a perfect 6-0 record (they have a BYE in Week 6) and clinch the #1 Overall Playoff Seed on Saturday afternoon when they take the field against #4 Team Marmitt (2-2).

2. Team Kirsch – 3-1

Our Week 4 Game of the Week started off a little sloppy on the Offensive side of the ball, to say the least. The first five possessions of the Game resulted in turnovers. In the end however, it was #2 Team Kirsch and their stingy Defense that would come out on top by a final score of 22-0. Team Kirsch now has the League’s Top Ranked Defense, allowing only 5 PPG! Captain Ben came to the rescue for Team Kirsch in this one, tossing 3 TD passes to help his squad secure this HUGE victory! Danzig, Jonathon Lipman and Jeffrey Sun were all able to get on the receiving end of Captain Ben’s TD throws. Team Kirsch has two more Regular Season Games on the schedule to solidify one of the Top-2 Playoff Seeds. They’ll first need to go through Team Goldman (1-3) coming up on Saturday afternoon before they close out the regular season schedule in Week 6 against Team Segal.

3. Team Dincin – 3-1

Team Dincin recorded a forfeit victory on Saturday afternoon as their opponents did not have enough available players to field a legal team. The win brings their record to 3-1 on the season. Next up on the schedule in Week 5 for #3 Team Dincin is Team Lowenthal (1-3).

4. Team Marmitt – 2-2

To Team Marmitt’s credit, they put up a resilient effort in Week 4 on Saturday afternoon but just couldn’t get over the hump against #2 Team Kirsch in our Week 4 Game of the Week. By the final score of 22-0, Team Marmitt suffered their second defeat of the season. Turnovers, Turnovers, Turnovers. That was the name of this game for Team Marmitt. Their first three Offensive possessions resulted in interceptions and it’s hard to win games in this League when you give up the ball that many times. In looking for a silver lining in defeat here, Team Marmitt gave Team Kirsch more than they could handle for most of this game. They couldn’t ultimately catch them but should have left Wolters Field with an elevated confidence level. They’ll look to rebound from this loss and move up our Rankings in Week 5 when they take the field against #1 Team Scornavacco (5-0).

5. Team Baum – 1-3

Sorting out this next tier of Teams is where it begins to get interesting in the HP Prep Flag Football League, with no less than three teams making a legitimate case for the No. 5 spot. In the Week 4 Power Rankings we are going to give the nod to Team Baum. Team Baum took on #1 Team Scornavacco on Saturday afternoon and came up way short, falling 65-0. They shouldn’t get too down on themselves however as many teams have ran into the same issues when facing the #1 squad in the League. Team Baum has players that can put up big numbers on any given Saturday and their balance on both sides of the ball is a good sign for them moving forward. They also currently hold the H2H tiebreaker with Team Goldman with a victory over them in the Season Opener. They will take on a Team Segal squad (0-3) in Week 5 with an opportunity to move up the Standings and Week 5 Power Rankings.

Rest of the Pack (Alphabetical Order)

Team Goldman – 1-3

Team Goldman recorded a forfeit loss on Saturday afternoon as they did not have enough available players to field a legal team. The loss is their second in a row and brings their record to 1-3 on the season. Next up on the schedule in Week 5 for Team Goldman is #2 Team Kirsch (3-1).

Team Lowenthal – 1-3

Was this the week that gets things heading in the right direction for Team Lowenthal? They must certainly hope so following a much-needed victory in Week 4 against Team Segal by the final score of 25-21. They were finally able to put together a much better all-around performance compared to their previous three weeks. Tanner had a monster Saturday afternoon as he was on the receiving end of all four TD passes from Jonathon Weiserman (2) and Josh Mac (2). They held the lead for most of this game but ended up allowing Team Segal to battle back and were just one play from suffering the upset of the year. Team Lowenthal is still trying to figure out their identity, but this Week 4 performance is certainly something that they can build on. They’ll try to lock in their second W on the year when they take the field on Saturday afternoon against #3 Team Dincin (3-1).

Team Segal – 0-3

There is only one word that truly describes Team Segal’s performance on Saturday afternoon…resilient! By the final score of 25-21, Team Segal suffered their third defeat on the season but were only one play away from causing some chaos in the HP Prep Football League Standings. Team Segal got down early in this one but came storming back in the 2nd half on the backs of Captain Rocky Segal and Brandon Bohm. Captain Rocky hit Brandon on a nice pass down the sidelines and Brandon was able to turn on his jets to get his way into the endzone to make this a one possession game. Team Segal’s Defense then stepped up huge and forced a couple of huge turnovers down the stretch to give themselves an opportunity to win this ballgame. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t meant to be on this nippy Saturday afternoon as they were not able to punch the ball it into the endzone on their final Offensive play of the game. Team Segal will need to put this loss behind them quickly as they have a date with #5 Team Baum (1-3) coming up on Saturday.

That’s it for Week 4! Good luck to all in Week 5!
